Slade originally had a skinhead image but they never played the kind of music associated with skins. Years later Noddy said "The skinheads were into ska and reggae which we didn't play at all."

@@nealc.6927correct, was an image that they never liked, especially Dave Hill, who was originally against shaving his hair short, and they moved to the Glam image and it worked better for them than the skinhead image which was a 'popular' image at the time.

Well, Aitken were around in the 60's as we all know. But didnt quite reach up to the success of say Desmond Dekker, although he had his following. It was more around 80 and a few years after that he had his real success.

Well no, mods were from the 60’s and were categorised as mods due to their love of modernistic jazz and wore smart suits and drove Vespas as a fashion. three of many ways they are completely different to the skinhead/rude-boy movement. Every subculture has influences from previous subcultures however they define their own movement through their history. Do you’re research.

@@cerysyou7 YOU do your research. You ever heard of Hard Mods or Gang Mods? That was the name before the media coined it skinhead. Skinheads started as early as 1966. Bo, Jamaica had nothing to do with it.
