We love BJU. The hub is amazing and a huge upgrade from their old system. I enjoy that they provide more than enough needed and you can go into the parent account and skip assignments and the kids never know and it allows you to adapt it to your child and their needs. You can add outside classes to the calendar and track those grades. It's been really great for us. Every year I give my kids a choice to try something else and they choose BJU.

Oh my goodness so many sons! Such a blessing. You have a beautiful family. I hope I am able to homeschool my future children, public school is scary. I was the most well behaved students and the teachers still found a way to make me feel small. I don’t want that for my future children.

Can you schedule 6 days of school per week? How does the program handle errors on tests/quizzes? Does the program go for scores or mastery? Looks very well organuzed! If Arami is interested in animals or soils, i would suggest he look into regenerative agriculture. Dirt to Soil by Gabe Brown would be a good overview. Joel Salatin books would be more specific about species or building portable structures.

Arami is such a delightful young man!
I'm so glad to have found your channel today! I've been catching up, watching all your videos from oldest to latest. What an amazing story you have!
You asked a few times for viewers to tell you what else we want to know. I would very much like to know how you came to the decision to homeschool. I especially would like to hear if Caleb was on board from the start. This is top on my mind because just yesterday, I saw two different moms on our local homeschool group's FB page ask how to get their husbands on board because that's all that's keeping them from pulling their kids out of school.
My husband and I decided on homeschooling even before we had our only child. That decision was even more affirmed when she was born with a life-threatening congenital defect. For a time there, we weren't sure how long we're going to have her. By God's mercy and grace, she's completely healthy now, but that experience further strengthened our resolve to homeschool. We just aren't willing to let her spend most of her waking hours away from us. This is only one of seemingly countless reasons why we homeschool, of course. I look forward to hearing yours. TIA! 🙂

How many hours a day do the kids spend in homeschool
Do you spend extra time does each child spend the same amount of time per day on the school work

Time spent definitely depends on the grade (and the kid). Some days, our oldest spends 7-8 hours, and some days less. Our youngest spends probably 3-4 hours a day on most days. But it also depends on their motivation and the level at which they are focusing. 😉

How long does it take the kids to do their schoolwork

Anywhere between 4-6 hours. Sometimes 7 on tougher days.

What if the student doesn't understand a concept...can the student ask real-time questions of the teacher? Or is it the parent who must answer?
Your son has a great sense of humor! And seems very grounded in who he is. I hope we get to see more of him in future videos. ❤

There is no real-time teacher, as the videos are pre-recorded. That’s where I come in! Thankfully, the teacher’s guides are very detailed, so if someone gets stuck and I can’t help them from my own brain, I can easily open up the teacher’s guide and figure out how to help them.

We have been using ABeka going on 19 years ❤ We start the on line streaming in 8th grade. We have 3 graduated and 3 more to go 😊
Bob Jones looks very similar to what ABeka has to offer on line as well.
    Have a wonderful school year!!

Wow, that’s amazing!! Caleb was homeschooled using Abeka as well, and loves it. For him, The Hub is the biggest difference and game-changer.

How many hours does a typical day end up being from start to finish? My five year old needs multiple breaks from our home schooling curriculum. We have 3 hrs of live sessions and about 3 hrs of virtual work. I feel like it’s way too much for him. We’re getting by, thank you Jesus. 😊

That definitely varies based on the grade level (and the kid). My five-year-old spends maybe three hours a day. He actually begs to do more each day, so sometimes I have him practice handwriting or do another activity. But it’s definitely not six hours.

History and Spanish lesson in one, what and why is the archery on the cover of the Spanish book? lol. Except for the biblical POV, sounds good. Some subjects are, let's say, difficult for that view, I was thinking of Geology...

It might just take a lot more input from the parent.

There is a parent led option as well where you would teach your child from a teacher guide.

and these people think PUBLIC school is indoctrinating children 😂 homeschooling allows for individualized education, with a lot of interaction w parents, and yet you do this??
