I’m in LOVE with the way my DIY wall mural panels turned out! Easiest and most rewarding DIY ever 🥰 y’all let me know what you think and if you’d like to DIY a Mural in your home!
Thank you so much. This is exactly what I have been looking for for my large dining room wall. Great idea instead of wallpapering the whole room . I love it and I am so excited to do this project!
WOW Ashley, the Vintage wall paper plus funky chair and candle sticks are very interesting and unique! They are perfect for spicing up a traditional or transitional space. I'm already looking at possibilities for my dining room. Thank you.
I had been wanting to frame a huge wallpaper mural of a Japanese ukiyo-e print for the longest time and my boyfriend and I just finished putting up our wallpaper mural in our apartment using the methods in your tutorial :) Thank you so much! we’re so very happy and pleased with the results , it really pulls our little place together in the most beautiful way, and we wouldn’t have known where to even start without your tutorial! We’re so grateful!
Amazing transformation it looks stunning I really want to try this and the fact that you can move it around your home and enjoy in different spaces is genius 👍🤩
this is wonderful! Such a huge impact it has created. I really want to try this in my home. Can you tell me how you finished the edges of the MDF or did you leave them raw and unpainted?
Thank you!! I actually added a cotton ribbon trim to the edges, I should have added that step to the video and completely forgot! But it finished the panels off nicely and was super easy to do. I bought 1/2” cotton ribbon in a dark gray and it looks great with the mural!
@@ashleychilders Question: Did you go completely around all the edges of each panel with the ribbon or did you just place ribbon on edges that show on the sides and top and bottom?
@@jajdesign well I forgot to do it before we hung them, so I just did the outside edges 😆 but I bought extra ribbon so if I move them I can add it to the inside edges too!
I’m in the process of completing this mural and would have ordered 1” extra on all sides and wrapped the edges. I’m ordering some extra canvas and plan to try and match and cover the sides w/ canvas paper. Also, I would have upgraded to the art brushed option. Otherwise, I followed Ashely’s excellent step-by-step directions and its gorgeous!!! BTW, Home Depot cut my panels and support boards on their bench saw so I was able to complete this without a trim carpenter, but will need help mounting them. Such a fun DIY - thank you!
I'm absolutely thrilled about this idea! I'm dying to know, how did you attach that fabulous ribbon? Did you use a hot glue gun or some other exciting technique?
@@ashleychilders You’re welcome, it’s beautiful! And I do appreciate seeing you actually making it, yes with the help of your husband and son, but still, you are also very handy.
Hi Ashley !!! Wall mural is beautiful !!! The mural link gives 4 options for "material". Question - which option did you choose - Traditional, Premium Canvas or Premium Art-Brush? Thank you for sharing. I love the way it turned out. I would really like to try this project.
Thank you so much, I’m in LOVE with it!! I got the “Traditional” paper option and it’s perfect. A great heavy weight paper with a beautiful matte finish!

I have a question : it's such a lovely elegant mural how do you deal with the wood MDF edge exposed on the side? Does it cheapen the look if exposed?
This is a great way to use some beautiful (expensive) wallpaper without having to paper the whole room.
Thank you!!! Yes, it’s a fun and affordable way to add interest to your walls!
This is brilliant! I can’t wait to do it in my master bedroom.
Oh I’m so glad you like it!!! Such a fun, easy and rewarding project!
Very beautiful - effort well worth. ,🌿
Thank you so much!

Oh Yay!! I'm so happy the video was helpful! Good luck with your mural!!
Would the installation have been easier using French cleats instead of the hooks so the panels could be moved side to side to line up completely?
Absolutely! We just used what we could find that day at the local hardware shop!
Yes, exactly what I want to do. Thank you!

Stunningly beautiful!

That looks gorgeous! I love that you put them on panels first. Great idea!
Thank you so much!! It makes them seem more like a piece of artwork, which I love. Thanks for watching!
That was a very nice way to hang wall murals! Also, great way to move, sell, or donate in the future. Thank you for the detailed tutorial!!

Oh I LOVE hearing that!!!! It sounds absolutely Beautiful! ❤️❤️
I love this project! But I’m a crazy gal. I paint the boards directly. What can I say? I like to live dangerously. 😏😝
Love the wall panels!! Can you tell me if you wrapped all four side or just left the mdf board exposed on the sides ?
Looks like the sides are exposed
Amazing transformation it looks stunning
I really want to try this and the fact that you can move it around your home and enjoy in different spaces is genius 👍🤩

Beautiful Ashley! My kitty acts like yours when I DIY! TFS
She loves to be my “assistant”! 😂
That is GORGEOUS!
Awe, thank you! ❤️
Beautiful mural.
Think I’d like it directly on the wall so it appears seamless/looks like one piece.

I finished the edges with a cotton grosgrain ribbon. Super easy and looks great!! Thanks for watching ❤️
Beautiful.
So sweet, thank you!
Beautiful, Ashley! Did you need to paint the sides of the mdf panels?

Thank you so much, I’m in LOVE with it!! I got the “Traditional” paper option and it’s perfect. A great heavy weight paper with a beautiful matte finish!
Ashley, which quality paper did you order, if I may ask.
I went with the traditional option!!
@@ashleychilders thank you.
What size panels did you order ? Was this custom ? Thanks
Mine is around 138" W x 102" H, total and came in 3 panels. I got in off of Etsy!
What did you do with the unfinished edges?
I put a woven cotton ribbon on the edge, it was a pretty and easy solution!
Cool
How has the MDF held up after a few months? I’m concerned about the weight of the MDF being supported by a few screws. MDF isn’t exactly durable.
What size are each mural?
Mine are around 8ft high x 4ft wide for each panel. The entire mural is 8ft high x12ft wide. ❤️
Did you order the mural already cut into thirds?
Yes!! It came that way!
Wow 🤩🤍
no booking?
It wasn’t necessary with this mural! And I was so happy about that ❤️
