Shimmer and Shine is a Nick Jr show about two genies-in-training, their pets, and their human companion, who all go on adventures together. My daughter loved it when she was younger, but at 5, she doesn't care so much for it now. It was a pretty cute show and I didn't mind watching it with her.
I like watching it with my kids too lol
I was coming here (late) to mention this. I have boys so that weren't that interested in the show. I loved that one of the main characters had the same name as me lol. Boom zahramay, oh what a day!

I never really had a "comfort" toy since I enjoyed playing with literally any toy I could get my hands on but I did have a lot of dolls. These unboxings are really fun to watch. You put so much effort and energy into making sure we are entertained even when you're visibly frustrated by the item you're showing us so thank you.

@@recoveringsoul755 Yes. Many toys can be repainted, given makeovers, and there's a word for it that escapes me at the moment, but they can be modified into a whole new thing. You can buy cheap toys or other items (even from the dollar store), and make it into something you love, plus it will have your own touch! (Just be careful if it's something that might become a collectible; you might want to save that for its worth.) If you don't like the design on something, it can often be customized (maybe that's the word I was trying to think of).

In case you don’t know, they include the shopping carts and shelves because you can buy a building from 5 surprise and add them to it to make it a store!
They had the carts and shelfs for about 2yrs before the store playset was released
One of the funny things it’s mini brands is that I work at a Dave and Busters, where we sell some. One time one of the bag versions was opened, revealing a lunchable one. I was bored one morning shift so I picked it up and looked at it, and saw it had a Barcode. So with my big, juicy brain I went “ Huh, I wonder”
Long story short the Barcodes on mini brands can be scanned by our computers, though it just comes up as “Item Not Found”
Are they part of prizes that can be gotten for tickets or you have to buy them?

The scaling of mini brands would go really well with American girl dolls, especially to fill out the play sets a little more with a variety of stuff instead of just when it comes with them.

Back when I was a little kid I always slept early so I could wake up and watch shimmer and shine. Seeing them again made a tear roll down my cheek

You should make it one of the running gags, where, whenever you get something terribly painted, you flash back to Arnold.
I guess stuffed toys/plushies are my favorite comfort item, as a child, I didn't really get to experience the 'normal' childhood things, like toys, games, TV programs ect. but as I grew up, in my late teens, I started collecting animal plushies - my favorites being a hugee white tiger plush and a wolf plush ♥♥ plushies and blankets are me jam
My comfort toy was Kitchen Littles. Finally getting the fridge organized and the plates, cookware and silverware in their respective spots was Something I found so satisfying… this is also the moment I realize where my coping skill of washing dishes and emptying the dishwasher stems from. 🤣❤️
I recommend the PC game ‘Unpacking’, it’s entirely dedicated to the main character moving homes throughout their life & you have to arrange their belongings

Jackie I felt the need to share this joyful moment, my toddler is mostly non verbal (he can say sounds and bub for bubble). We are working with him daily to help him with speech and communication. When I was watching your video today he would copy the Oooo sounds you made. It made my heart leap with joy. Thank you. He loves to listen and copy sounds you make.
i think my comfort toys have to be barbies or dolls in general. i always used to save little boxes and stuff and make furniture for them and make dresses from tissues. man i'm getting nostalgic haha

@@nerdecrafter I think they are target exclusive in the US don’t know about Canada also if you ever buy one of the those larger mini brands sets that come in a flat package they cost more but come with the two exclusive mini brands all the time bought the Disney one and got both the golden grogu book bag and forky

Tommy Pickles will always be my favorite. It does seem like they are getting lazier/cheaper with the paint quality. If they are going to charge that much they could AT LEAST make sure the paint is on point/boxes actually close without having to be taped/items don't come damaged or bent. This is just one person's humble opinion. Love what you do Jackie.
Shimmer and Shine is honestly an adorable show, it's for children but I watch it in my free time lol
My comfort toy was definitely Lego. I would spend hours building houses or schools and just making up little stories with the little Lego people I had.
You can really feel the annoyance in Jackie when she kept getting the doubles but especially in the carts 😂

Although I have never been attracted to the MiniBrands series, I can appreciate the details they can get for *most* items. Most of the Nickelodeon ones were pretty on point, but uh, I was a *tiny* bit annoyed with the shoddy job on Arnold... I played a lot with playdough, too! But If I had to really choose a comfort toy, I don't think I could choose just one, but I could say that it would always be a plushie. The soft textures were a definite comfort then and definitely are still now!
My comfort toy was and still is barbie. I just adored her! I also love these kinds of videos from you! They are always really entertaining and you have such an amazing personality 💕

You might want to check out the fashion line. They have a mini purse and some accessories to go in them. The bags looked pretty good and you can use them for dolls. The accessories sizes aren't standard just fyi

I would love to see you repaint the bad ones, like dora and hey arnold. Maybe even use tools that help stabilize your hand if you have fine motor limitations?
I find that even though the mini "toys" edition aren't 1:12 scale they are more forgiving than the foods. That being said I've only purchased one of these balls (I was concerned the type of plastic isn't as recyclable as they say) and my Dora the Explorer looked like she was painted with one of those cheap crayola paintbrushes.
Hello Jackie i love your videos and your since of humour. I have a little suggestion for a future video. If you get double mini brands or some you do not want take them and customize them as your own creations

They don't claim to be to scale for figures though. They work nice with barbie, they work well with 1/3 scale dolls.
Barbie is 1:6 scale, standard dollhouse size is 1:12

I consider the scale for the food and personal care Mini Brands to be "Barbie shopping at Costco" scale. Also, I was OBSESSED with Ren and Stimpy as a child. I wore out the VHS tapes of it from my local video rental store.

My comfort toy was Polly Pocket, I had so many of them and loved them so much. I'm gutted that I sold them at the car boot as they're worth a lot now and I would love to have passed them down to my daughter.

I had a Care Bear castle toy and it was full of childhood magic and I have so many fond memories of it! There were swings and slides, little cars, and a playground that would spin… as an adult I want to find it in my attic and set it up again haha
I remember Ren and Stimpy. Kids loved it because their parents hated it. Parents hated it for the same reasons you stated. I was okay with it, some episodes were really good.
My comfort toy was an Easy Bake oven. I baked cookies, cakes and even vegetables that I snuck out of the garden. I loved that oven, even though there was a piece of metal inside that kept scraping the tops of my cakes off. I had to hold the metal thing up with a wooden spoon while I pulled the cakes out. My brother used to bounce my cakes against the walls, and they'd bounce back to him. 😆

It's funny. I loved Ren and Stimpy. To the point my step father made my mom put from them on all my gifts during one Christmas. It was too cute.
My comfort toy is monster high dolls, I had tons of them as a kid and I always loved playing with them and watching the movies,I'm recollecting them now💕
My comfort toys were the one I made myself. As a kid, I was drawing people, dogs, cats and horses on paper and then cutting them out, naming them, telling their stories, marrying them together. I still have them somewhere. As a keepsake.
My comfort toy was my Lite Brite. Once I finished a design, I would close my drapes and shut the door and look at it in the dark for a lonnnnng time! :)
Transformers were some of my favorite toys. I never even made them battle or anything. I just sat there transforming them back and forth.
Oh man, I have a lot of empathy for comfort toys- barring a small handful of very cherished stuffies, my favorite comfort "toy" is this 4 inch long, toonish cricket (that my itty bitty self called "my kookrit") who has a little button on the bottom and a divet for your finger to go into, such that you can click the button with your thumb. It makes the most delightfully deep-toned clicky stim sound, and I still have him to this day TvT Looking at him now, he's a 1990 Eric Carle Corp release, so he's a little older than me, but he still works perfectly all these years later!
