How many days were you working this semester?

@lilyg1062, I usually work one or two shifts per week during a semester.

How many hours a day do you study for exams ? And do you start studying a week ahead for an exam? Do you feel like the exams are harder than nursing school?

@shahidachaudhary5036, thanks for your comment, great questions! I explain my usual exam study strategy in this video >> NP School Finals - How I Study For Finals | NP School | PMHNP School
th-cam.com/video/39O7lcGa1cA/w-d-xo.html. In an ideal setting, I like to get a couple of weeks head start for exam study. However, with work and family that is not always possible. The hours per day vary, depending on other assignments that are due and what is going on outside of school. In general, I think you need to have at least 20 hours a week set aside for study outside of class/zoom/videos to watch. The one thing that has made the biggest difference for me in prepping for exams is my daily Picmonic (www.Picmonic.us) spaced repetition quizzes. This helps me to learn what I need to learn at the right time in the right way. I do not feel like the exams are tougher than nursing school. However, you have to think more clinically and critically in NP school than in nursing school. You just don’t have to worry about all that NCLEX question stuff. Does this help? would you say this or RN school has been harder?

@johnfanni4946, that is a great question. Thanks for taking time to watch the video and comment. I, personally, think nursing school was much harder, maybe because so much of it was new. In NP school you are digging deeper into a lot of what you learned in nursing school and in practice. The biggest difference is that the stakes are much higher for NPs. YOU are prescribing, YOU are diagnosing. So you have to get it right! Does that help?
