    Emily, now that you have your new calling as the General Young Womens Pres. and can no longer do the Don’t Miss This podcast it thrills me SO much that I can watch these older podcasts! I’ve missed seeing you, hearing you talk about the gospel of Jesus Christ and bearing your testimony! You’re a very special lady and I think the world of you! I wish you the best with your new calling!❤️

    Listened to this whole thing while doing dishes, making the bed, etc. All was great until that story of your grandfather and Dr. Nelson...Can’t stop crying. It’s why The Spirit prompted me to listen today. It’s going to be my goal moving forward. Thank you.

    Thank you so much for this. I really needed to hear it. Especially the part about just doing my best. Right now I'm in that phase of not enough hours in the day. It's a good reminder that the expectations we put on ourselves is often the source of our stress and as we let go of those and move forward in faith, knowing God is there to help us, we can have peace.

      LJS S if I could like your comment 100 times, I would. I share your feelings that they have become “my friends.” I know it sounds creepy, but really, you’re great examples of who I want to grow up to be like - I’m 60 years old - but I still have hope that I can develop Emile’s strong femininity. Not taking anything away from David, I just love Emile’s strong and humble femininity. You are amazing for providing this service. It’s made my life richer and brighter during a difficult time. You’re inspired. Very inspired. Thank you for living your lives so you can receive these bundles of revelation and inspiration, and for sharing them with me (us). Thanks. 💞

    I have such a hard time knowing when I've reached my best. I can't be the only one who surpasses their best often in the worst way, constantly re-thinking what's been done or what is planned. That can't be what God has in store for us! I need to learn to trust that my first thought or execution is enough of my best for now, and I get to have an eternity of seeing my and others' best grow, thanks to God's grace. We have time to become who we want to be; we need all the time. I'm realizing part of my best is just keeping looking forward and trying again next time.

      My Mother also had heart issues, in 1965 or 66 I was 8 or 9 years old. President Nielsen operated on my Mothers heart. After the surgery she was in a lot of pain. He and his heart surgeon partner came to her room to check on her. They gave her a blessing of comfort. My Mother said she could see a wool blanket come down from the ceiling and cover her body. She felt no pain after that for a day or so, of course there was discomfort after that, but manageable. She lived 5 more years, her heart gave out. What a beautiful testimony of our Saviors and President Nielsen’s love for all of us.

    My dear mother who all my life has always been looking for a way to serve. Often times my sister says: “If for no other reason she will walk through the doors of the Celestial Kingdom because of her service, she truly is a queen of service.” I couldn’t agree more. The other day my mother 84 yrs young, text me saying she might have a problem, but not sure if it will be a problem. I called her and learned that a Wal-Mart associate miss judged his driving a full pallet of products rammed into her cart and with her back turned from the cart it pushed her cart into her tiny 75 lb body and knocked her over. She was a little in shock and left to go pay for her groceries. She went to pay for her things and her debit card would not work (a whole other story, that I figured out a couple of days later) the lady behind her could obviously sense she needed assistance, she stepped forward and paid fir mom’s groceries ($60). When I heard this I asked if she was able to get her contact information to pay her back, she said: “no”. I said: it looks like you get the privilege to continue to pay it forward! This was a great great message as are all your videos!!!

    Great lesson! Please give credit to president Spencer W Kimball he is the one who originally said "Just Do It!" He's a cousin of my husband, I joined the church when I was 12 in New York and I remember he was "my Prophet " of my youth and we went to see him and I'll never forget when he gave us a talk etc upstate at Regional Conference in NY or DC? Trying to remember it was so long he was brilliant we are very blessed to have such awesome leaders! Thank you again for this great lesson!

    I love your insights with Mary and Martha and what God has given us to do. We can't compare ourselves by what others do or judge others because we don't know what they are going through or what they can or can't do, but God does. We need to ask God what he wants us to do each day and he will let us know. Thanks for such good words. I have been taught this from on high as well and it is so good to have you explain it so well. I love you guys! I signed up for you emails, I thought. But I don't see them.

    This past Sunday, I divulged to my Adult Sunday School class where I get some of my ideas when I teach. I invited them to subscribe too. I have a great love for the gospel and enthusiasm to teach and testify about it. I super duper enjoy watching & learning from you both. I'm going to buy the "message Bible" it will be interesting to read and compare with the King James version.

    Thank you so much for your commentary on this section of scripture! I was so excited to hear you use The Message translation! I never read The Message as a standalone text but if I find scripture that either I really like or is really confusing, I'll read it in The Message to see if it hits me differently. The group of scripture I really like in The Message from these chapters in 2 Cor. is 10:3-6. There are some really powerful words used in that translation!

    Hello, I am barely coming across these videos, and I am so grateful that you put them up! I want to go back and watch all of them now!, I do have a question for you two though- You refer to the Message version of the Bible often. Do you read mostly from that one, or do you just cross reference when you aren't understanding the KJV?

      They mainly read from the KJV and cross-reference when the KJV is hard to understand. In addition to The Message, they've referenced the ESV and the NIV in other videos. To compare all the translations for free, you can go to www.biblegateway.com/.

    I've noticed David is constantly in 60% or more of the camera view while Emily is usually in the extreme right of the screen. This makes David seem either dominant, or unaware of personal space boundaries. Could you please remedy this so things reflect the equality & respect I'm sure you feel for one another?
    Love the videos in every other way.

    • @desisto007
      @desisto007 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If look carefully you will notice that they are both in the middle of the board but not in the middle of the camera. The camera is not aligned directly to the middle so the problem is not with him but the perspective of the place we see them.

      So would you prefer that they both stand on opposite ends of the board? I think it's unfair and a little rude to judge David's character over such a small thing!

      I don’t have a symmetrical brain so that doesn’t bother me. He just likes to read along with Emily in her book when she reads a scripture. I love that he is so engaged in her thought thread that he compliments her thread with comparable, (opps) he continues weaving that thread-thought with words that just roll off his tongue and down my cheeks.

    • @MolyBDenum-lh3wy
      @MolyBDenum-lh3wy 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Marcela Stacey they basically said that David seemed dominant and unaware of personal space..sure does seems like character judgement and definitely not sweet or respectful..the guy is just standing..try considering his feelings too! He’s teaching and trying to engage with Emily and us in a meaningful way..where he’s standing is the last thing on my mind and is just nitpicking at something very unnecessary..
