Cody, thanks for the quick review. Been looking forward to seeing this release. How is the insert for the third edition? Do you feel like setup and takedown improves at all with this edition? I'm thinking about all the little pieces for the different scenarios. And how is component quality? The second edition coffin markers were notoriously less than great.
I feel like component quality here is better, but not a whole lot. It is still a bear sorting through the various pieces and markers for each scenario - but I don't really know a way around that. Insert is about the same as 2E.
I prefer the artwork on second edition, it’s more eerie and looks like a abandoned, haunted house. The new art style is too colorful imo. But as someone who hasn’t played neither I decided to go with the third edition since new content will come to that edition. There is already a werewolf expansion on the way. 😎
I have the second edition and the Widow's Walk expansion. I'm considering getting this third edition. My question is, does the Widow's Walk expansion work with the third edition?
Do the haunts in this game feel more balanced than previous editions? My chief complaint about second edition was that usually one side or the other had a massive advantage whenever the haunt was revealed due to the random nature of the tile layout and items drawn.
In short, yes - but only with the ones I've played. The reality is that there is, by necessity, a certain amount of wonkiness in this game. You can't get around it with the varied scenarios and the fact that each scenario requires a lot of setup and its own rules set. Some improvisation is more often needed than not. Still, it's a very enjoyable experience.
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer Not in this economy... our publisher Lacerta just closed down recently and it was one of the first and biggest one - but it all goes to Asmodee and it trying to monopolize while streamlining to their child companies. I would get the English version, but I found out the hard way that most of my playing colleagues do not know the language good enough - especially for narrative driven games.

I do not believe they’re compatible.
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer Thank you.
I will also be buying this in addition to the 2nd addition 😃
They're great games.

Are the markers on the player cards better than the crappy ones in 2nd edition?
Yes.
I might try it, but I am not sure if there is polish version already, and 100% the one for Baldur's Gate is not available.
If it isn't now I hope it will be soon.

Components improved Cody?
I’d say component quality is about the same as the previous edition.
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer Thanks Cody! You are awesome.
