  • Have you noticed that the way the dictionary pronounces words isn't always the way that we Americans actually pronounce words in real life? In this video, we will look at many contractions that are often not pronounced the way that the dictionary indicates. We will use YouGlish to listen to examples of people on TH-cam speaking spontaneously.

Ótimo vídeo, professor Cory. O sr. sempre trazendo temas interessantes dos idiomas para nós. Eu particularmente acho as regras de pronunciação uma das coisas mais difíceis em inglês. Muitas vezes se fala diferente do que está escrito na frase. É uma das dificuldades da língua inglesa, eu suponho. Já o espanhol é um idioma que se fala exatamente aquilo que está escrito.

Thanks. It's funny how as native speakers we don't even realize that we make these modifications, but if we pay attention we can observe so many interesting things.

I improved my english know about speak connections through non-educational english talking videos in different contexts, and I can recognize most words in a spoken sentence without any pauses. But in some minor cases, like in words that are not usual or that are too little as “I’ll”, I have some difficult in understanding. I want to develop my phonetics repertory. Thank you for the video.
