I'm a deacon of 16+ years and a couple of answers really stood out. First, presiding at Baptism is the best! Second was about concentrating on grades. I was in my first year of formation and was worried about what grade I would get in a given course. One of the other men in formation told me, "When the Bishop places his hands on your head at Ordination, he will not ask what you got for a grade in Old Testament I." A great friend from college entered seminary right after college and was assigned to my parish upon ordination. There are a few of us from our college student ministry friend group at my parish/in our ministries (theater, young adult, etc.). We’ve come to somewhat of a neutral ground- we call him Father at the parish and when mentioning him in church situations (like when I’m answering a CCD question with my fourth graders that somehow involves our parish priests), but we revert to his first name when we’re hanging out as friends. It’s been neat being on the friend side of a priest and seeing him up there giving homilies and saying Mass and everything, but have distinct memories of being goofy teenagers (and very young 20s) being silly in and out of classes together.
Father, you are so frank in answering the questions. I thank God for your calling to be a Franciscan priest. I wish to relate a true story regarding the Rosary. A friend named Ruby visited Medjugorje with her sick son. A Franciscan nun accompanied them. Ruby realised that she had lost her Rosary and she was very sad. She asked the Sister to pray that she will find it. Only Sister climbed the hill where the Cross and Mother Mary's statue were. When Sister was praying near the Cross with her Rosary underneath her palm, she heard a voice saying " give this Rosary to Ruby". When she opened her eyes she saw that there was another beautiful white Rosary underneath her Rosary. When I heard this story, I visited her home and saw with my own eyes the gift from Mother Mary. Ruby at the moment is suffering from cancer. When I called her yesterday she was hospitalised and said that she is receiving blood transfusions. She said that she is offering all her pains to Jesus for the conversion of sinners. She is so calm and relaxed and is ready to meet the Lord. Praise be to Jesus.

Great video. Thank you for taking the time to share more of your life with us. I'm celebrating 2 years clean and sober after being in active addiction since age 15 (I'm 42 now). I've always felt like I was running from God's plan, even trying to hide or be such a mess that God wouldn't wantme. I'm not 100% sure what my calling is but I'm not afraid of it anymore. I'm excited about God and his love for us. I do find inspiration, education and peace from your experiences and wisdom. Thank you for what you do.
Just want to mention 2 things. St Padre Pio was Franciscan and was obedient to the continual requests from Our Lady. At Fatima and elsewhere she asked us to pray the Rosary more than anything else. Baptism is ultimately important but the GREATEST Sacrament is the Eucharist in the Mass.

If the saints needed the rosary for their own holiness and growth you need the rosary too. Will pray for you to realise the treasure hidden in the rosary
Please father Casey try to introduce the rosary in your prayer time, our mother is the best at getting us to focus on her son. You are a blessing. All glory to God.
Congrats on your anniversary! Would you make a video about the concept of "Catholic Guilt" sometime? It's something I dont really understand why it exists as a thing in popular culture.
Praying for you🙏 I would call you father even if you were my little brother! Because you were ordained to be my spiritual father, no matter how weird it is, is just me acknowledging the power God has given you to turn bread into his body❤️
Casey, I admire your confidence and strength of faith, most of all your honesty and being so down to earth. It's refreshing to see and hear that you are human just like any other. As a cradle Catholic, I used to see priests as somebody that weren't people who were common people. Perhaps that was just my upbringing. Inspiring.
Thank you Fr. Casey for your online ministry. It really opened my eyes to the teachings and practices of the church. My favourite video was in fact the "What does it mean to be Catholic and not protestant" video. Thank you very much.
Thank you for making this video Fr.! ... I was relieved to hear that even as a Priest, you don’t necessarily have a practice of doing the rosary all the time/or at all. As a former Protestant, this is one of the practices of Catholicism I struggled the most to accept. I don’t disagree with any of the Mariam dogmas of the Church, however I still don’t feel as comfortable praying the Rosary. I rather do Lectio Divina or personal prayer.
I’ve always been Catholic, and I’ve never warmed up to the rosary either. I appreciate the idea of meditating on the mysteries, but for me the rosary is really tedious. I like reading scripture for prayer, and I have Protestant friends from college to thank for that.
A cradle Catholic here. I pray the Rosary, but only on times of spiritual dryness (and always on my own, so I can focus on God and not on answering avemarias out loud). I can see why it's so popular and I find it useful, but no one is less a Catholic for not praying it or doing it less than daily. Rosary fans who try to almost impose it are always awkward to me.
The Lord does many wonders through the rosary, it’s my favorite form of prayer behind just speaking to the Lord from my heart. It helps me stay sanctified and in Christ, and I dwell in his presence whenever I pray the rosary❤️❤️
Congratulations Fr.Casey ! During the lockdown, I read your first book, 'Called'. Certainly was thought provoking and helpful. Unfortunately I keep running into the same problems, crisis of faith and yes, those existential thoughts.
I appreciate your genuineness in accepting that you are not reciting rosary. i am just a six years senior to you in priesthood. Though my family was (is) very faithful to rosary, this prayer did not attract me much! Soon after my ordination to priesthood, due to a circumstance, i started reciting rosary, desperately seeking Mary's help for a grace from the Lord. I did receive it! since then, i have experienced her powerful interventions in my personal life and ministry. i still recite and encourage others to recite rosary.
You just made my day! Your enthusiasm for the people is wonderful. Some days your doubts may become a bit troubling. All the greatest saints had those moments too. But “ keep your eyes on the prize”, and that is Jesus Himself and you will be just fine. Again, thanks, from this 47 year ordained guy!
Happy1st presbyterial anniversary, Fr Casey. May you always be guided by the Holy Spirit and fill you with joy and peace as you work in the vineyard God has called you to minister to. Although, your first year as a priest was filled with turmoil, hopefully, it just made you even more zealous and resolute in your ministry.
Happy First anniversary of your priestly ordination Fr.Casey. Glad to note your enjoying your priestly ministry and Religious life. May the Lord bless you with good health, happiness, and wisdom to work in HIS veniyard.

Casey, first off, this is the first time that I have ever left a comment on anyone's youtube channel. I left the OFMs (John the Baptist Province) in 1972 during my novitiate year after eight months precisely for the reason that you articulated in your answer to the last question. I could not in good conscience become a priest ( that was my path) and have to deal with the issues that those I would be ministering to without having experienced those issues myself (in whatever form). I've never regretted my three years as a Franciscan nor have I regretted my leaving. It did shape my life. I admire your dedication.
That's a good advice there about the grades. I'm finishing my theological formation and the difficult thing is the worry of getting through the exams without failing one.
Just as the person before me in the comments, I was not born a Catholic. My mother was an atheist, my father from a crazy Adventist family. I became a Christian in Viet Nam and was baptized in a non-denominational Christian church. Having been in a hospital sponsored by the Catholic church (several times) and having had many disappointments with the people and clergy of the Protestant churches I attended. I come to have a great respect for the Catholic church, I am watching your videos, working my way through the catechism, and learning more about the Mother Church. I will soon be going to speak to the Father at the local Catholic Church. I enjoy your videos, your positive outlook, and your quiet way of explaining things! God Bless you Father!
Love your Chanel. Keep spreading the faith and I hope what you do encourages more to join the priesthood and others to be stronger in their faith. May God continue to bless you and use you to spread His Word.
12:03 Sounds like something a candidate to the episcopate would say! (As you know, there is an ancient tradition wherein a priest, when asked to become a bishop, must refuse three times by saying "nolo episcopari" [I do not want to be a bishop] before accepting the office.)

I am following your chanel from Tanzania here in East Africa. You are amazing Fr. Casey. I hope to learn more from your channel.
Rahael Ami ... blessings on you and all the good people of Tanzania!!!!!

Then you must know Fr. Rob
Greetings Rainbow from me in southern California, USA. I've recently become enamored with South Korea having just completed a romantic-comedy screenplay based in Seoul.
Blessings on you! I hope you are well and enjoying religious life in Australia.
Thank you for everything you do, Fr. Casey. May you keep going and keep growing. We're rooting for you. Congrats on your Anniversary! 💙
Bless your heart fr Casey.. u bring joy to many pple
Congratulation Father Casey from a brother in Gatineau Canada! I wish you Peace and Joy throughout your ministry in the coming years ! JC, OFS.
Congratulations on your first anniversary. May there be many more with God's grace :)
Father Casey, we were truly blessed to be able to share with you, your first year of ministry... and as you said yesterday, you will never forget this year and all it taught you and we, as a community at the UGA Catholic Center, will never forget you as well. I’m so glad we still have the chance to see you through this channel!! We pray for your new paths to be blessed and we are sure you are taken to a place where you will make wonders with everyone crossing your path. We will miss you dearly!!!

Congrats Father Casey, your journey has been amazing and inspiring and you are coming into the ministry during an interesting time in all our lives. God bless you Father.
Brother Casey, I'm a devout Catholic man in far west Texas. I enjoy watching your videos very much. I was taught by Franciscan Nuns in Kansas City. I would like to say thank you for your commitment to our faith and will pray for you to keep you safe from the evil one. Keep up God's work and spreading the word as St Francis did.
I discovered Fr. Casey Cole about a month ago on You Tube, and with more time on my hands due to the shelter in place, I watch him often, and have subscribed to his channel. I have purchased his books (one in book form, and the other through Audible). I love his youthful and candid outlook--so refreshing! I am a lifelong Catholic. Thank-you Father.
Happy anniversary, Father Casey! Your channel is SO inspiring and hearing you always makes me feel better. God bless you!!
Congratulations Fr. Cassey on your ordination anniversary. I'm working in a seminary as dean. Your videos are inspiring n enriching. God bless you and your ministry of inspiring people all over the world.

Congratulation Father Casey! I think You are doing a great job for us catholics and Christians . Y'all Be Safe!
It's quite interesting to know the questions and your answers.
You are just a wonderful breath of fresh air. I’m inspired by your confidence, knowledge, and the ability to communicate. A great roll model for people of all ages. God’s speed in you priestly venture.
Congratulations Father, may the Virgin Mary protect you every day! I really enjoy your videos!
If the saints needed the rosary for their own holiness and growth you need the rosary too. Will pray for you to realise the treasure hidden in the rosary
Amen! Praying the same thing too. We need to be children of Mary 🙏 The complete Rosary given to St. Dominic = 15 decades of the Rosary
@@crose7974 absolutely. It's so beautiful and will change your life.
@@anishsavio 👏👏👍
Rosary is the weapon.
St. Padre Pio

@@anishsavio You can join the Rosary with Fr. Pillari at 12:00 noon EST in Regina Angelorum Press
This is so refreshing and great to hear. Thank you Fr Casey
Happy 1st Anniversary Fr. Casey. Thank you for your excellent talks. I've loved every single one I've watched ❤ God bless you
Please father Casey try to introduce the rosary in your prayer time, our mother is the best at getting us to focus on her son.
I love listening to you Fr. Casey. May you be blessed more!
I'm glad that you are sharing your story with other young men and women. They need an alternative to the secular world. God bless your ministry.
Awesome! You truly have a gift for communication/speech! Also, it was refreshing to get to know about your choosing to become a priest.
Congratulations fr. Casey. God's loves you always. Mama mary will pray for you too as always.
Many congratulations on you anniversary - keep up the great work. Many blessings, and peace and love.
God bless you Father Casey and congratulations on your first year of priesthood.
Happy First anniversary of your priestly ordination Fr.Casey. Glad to note your enjoying your priestly ministry and Religious life. May the Lord bless you with good health, happiness, and wisdom to work in HIS veniyard.
Thank you Fr. your words inspire many lives, especially young religious that relates so much with your daily experiences and reflections.
Am so proud of you!!!! Please don't stop! GOD BLESS YOU!!!!!!!!! YOU ARE THE BEST!
Congratulations on your first year. Best wishes for the future.
I am very impressed with your approach. I've found that the great Priests have marks of humility, deep and prolonged prayer life and a deep love of the Mass.
Happy Anniversary Fr. Casey. I always look forward to your videos. Laughed so much about "the funeral Mass".
Dear Fr. Casey wishing you a happy anniversary of your ordination. Happy to note your are enjoying your priesthood and religious life. May the Lord bless you with good health, happiness, and wisdom in. HIS VINEYARD.
Many Thanks! Your wisdom and advice far exceeds the time you have spent as a priest. Keep the Faith!
Happy first anniversary of your Ordination. May God continue blessing your ministry.
Congratulations on you 1 year anniversary. Thank you for all your videos too, I learn a lot from them. Cheers to many wonderful years as a priest 🙂
good video ,happy anniversary
You are so honest! That is what I really appreciate. Thank you!
Hello, Fr Casey congratulations , you are amazing great priest God gave us ...
Iam a religious sr from India and l was so much love in your preaching and video God bless you abundantly in your mission
I can't wait to become a nun(franciscan). This video is sooo good, God bless you
I like your approach...we share the same priestly ministry. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for your candor, and sense of humor. I agree this past Easter, the Passion it was so upsetting. You are in my prayers.
I 've always Loved Saint Francisco of Assisi deeply,I got just a special place in my heart for the Franciscans Capuchin.May God bless you🙏🏽
Congrats on your first year! I am sure you will have many many more happy years!
12:03 Sounds like something a candidate to the episcopate would say! (As you know, there is an ancient tradition wherein a priest, when asked to become a bishop, must refuse three times by saying "nolo episcopari" [I do not want to be a bishop] before accepting the office.)
Thank you Father! You are a breath of fresh air! God bless you!
Happy Ist Sacerdotal Anniversary Fr. Casey!
