I KNOW THIS MOVIE. It's one of my core holiday memories-- I saw it on a little tv one of the times my family went down south to sell Christmas trees. I miss doing that, so it's a kind of special, nostalgic movie to me.
It's very nice hearing someone talk about this movie, I don't think I've heard anyone ever talk about it before. I enjoyed it a lot when I was younger, and may rewatch it now that I know it's on TH-cam. I find the art style and animation very endearing, as well as Olive's character. It just seems like a really uplifting special.
bro it's olive!! that book was one of my favorites when i was little, my sister and i would read it every year c: also oh my god the 'not so bad' song is sung by the guy from REM, i never knew that
I remember watching this movie in school! i only recalled the radio scene but not the bug gaslighting her wth 😭 thank you for making this cause now i dont feel like i just made it up, because truly Nobody talks about this movie and it is truly a shame
I remember this special from when I was a kid, I'm so glad someone is talking about it!! I don't enjoy Christmas or the Holidays, it's always been a much too hectic time for me (having divorced parents + being introverted made it hard for me growing up, and even now as an adult I never find myself looking forward to it), so in return, I never found myself enjoying Christmas movies/specials/episodes of shows I watched. Olive the other reindeer, however, is only exception. I always found it charming and adorable, and I love the animation style. I only recently learned that it was based on a book, I've only ever seen this special in my native tongue (french) when it would play on the tv.
Oh wow well I’m glad you found some good in this special and thank you for commenting love to see this movie is loved by so many people and not just me
Remember seeing this for a few time back when I was super young. Only me and my mom knew if it. Tis nice to see a video acknowledging this piece of childhood memories.
What’s funny is my Catholic elementary school showed this every year. No clue which teacher/after school volunteer kept it in the rotation but it was a tradition to see this during the last week of school before holiday break.
The pledge joke was about his full name, not just his last name. "And to the republic, for Richard Stanz..." is the mis-heard line that the joke is about
Olive is awesome!!! The style is so unique and fun, and our family watches it every year too :3 actually quite interested in it having a DVD release, I might need to look for one of those online
“And to the republic, -for which it stands-” is what Richard Stands is referring to most likely, not the fact that we stand up to say the pledge of allegiance.
Do you think it is because you have never bothered to look up a review of this hideously animated Christmas special, or because in your heart of hearts you know it's not good enough to be worth most people's time? Your video's title would be much better suited for something like A Wish for Wings That Work, which is also not very good, but the animation is a lot better.
@@bingerz237 sorry to read you did not like the show. Perhaps the other one of my videos will be something you would like instead. Thanks for the comment
I just want to say thanks for 1k views being a small channel this means the world to me please check out my other videos as well. Thank you all again!
Literally no one ever in the existence of the universe has talked about this special before
Wow I never forgot this movie! Even when I was a kid in school it seemed like no one else had ever heard of this!

I hated that movie as a kid! Something about that animation and artstyle really ticked me off

Quick fun fact about this special, the reindeer’s (Schnitzel) voice actor is the singer from REM, Michael Stipe
wow i never knew that thanks for that!
Ngl I never liked this movie but I don’t know why bc I don’t remember anything about it.
The stylized 3D animation actually (mostly) aged great

Stumbled on it this video showing my daughter the movie on TH-cam. Happy anniversary to Olive the other Reindeer 🎉🎁
Hope your daughter likes the special and you can make it a tradition to watch it every year
@@lyricreader2359 that's the plan and thank you !

Holy shit I forgot about this COMPLETELY
HOW DID YOU GET A TIME MACHINE AND TOOK A FILM I SAW ALMOST EVERY CHRISTMAS. I THOUGHT I FINALLY ESCAPED IT.
finally SOMEONE
I remember this 🤨
Dude the flea’s name was Fido
Oh man you are right crazy how I did not catch that. Thanks for pointing that out
Wasn’t there a flash gross out surgery game in this art style?
I don't know why I've always hated this movie so much. It felt like an ecard turned into a film just felt cheap.
