I know right! My first car was a 1973 Volvo 144 that broke down alot. I realized over time if you talk to her nicely (vs screaming profanities) the car will behave better 🤣

Only difference is my ex was a daily drive Peugeot 308. Imagine the agony and frustration, replacing one part after another and it just doesnt end. Promileage is off my book of insurance providers.
those are quite common on the 997.2 regardless of how often you drive them, lots plastic components just like the thermostat. Germans love to use plastics under the bonnet and they don't hold quite well over heat cycles.
I see this a lot here in Canada. When these cars do not get driven they start having issues. I had similar experiences with an Audi Allroad I had when I stopped driving it the engine light appeared do to evap leak.
Original windscreen & my usual guy. But accident does happen sometimes, in fact it is the first time it happened after using him for so many years. Luckily it's my car that kena, if it was my client's one it would have resulted in a big issue! 😅

Indeed, these days everything has a life span. But to be fair, it is a 12 year old (coming 13) car.
