@polychronio Unfortunately I am unable to get the videos from twitch to upload here, but you can view the series at twitch tv/dreamhacktv2/b/301030819 starting 48 minutes in
@@swasho2939 Did we watch the same video? You guys are both morons. Rapha anticipated his position at almost every turn which is also why Strenx ate multiple direct rockets around corners out of no where. Rapha was on something else here in this moment. There is not a Quake player that has ever lived that would have beaten him here.
Never would've done that in quake 3. People don't realize how screwy hitscan is in quake live. Especially on lan, you get an area the size of a billboard to rail, practically. Playing online you have to shoot behind people in order to rail them, a problem that manifested since the quake live alpha because ID wouldn't listen to anyone that said to fix it. And still won't to this day. Bottom line is, this is fisher price quake 3 and this "champion" wouldn't be shit in the real game.
I'm primarily a 1.6 player but have dabbled in quake and I found this to be true as well, the amount of times i've aimed at someone and it's not hit then the amount of times I've hit a rail thats seemed way off but it hits :o
In ANY shooter , LAN is where it is at. Online, so many factors come into play. For for casual gamers it doesn't matter , but if you play tournaments and you try to beat someone who is equally skilled, every tiny network/server hiccup and every 1ms makes a difference. LAN is the only real environment where you can tell if someone is better or not. I have beaten people on LAN that were really hard to beat Online , since their internet and ping was way better than mine. On LAN it evens out!
It's hilarious you say that because he actually made his name in Quake 3, shortly after practicing in Quake 4 throughout its own era and having played Quake 3 for years beforehand. I've played matches with Rapha and met him personally at LAN, and he is one of the best at movement in competitive FPS, and one of the sharpest thinkers in gaming. He studied demos for years, and all this is is his hard work and emphasis on positioning and map control paying off immensely against some of the best players in the world.
I know what youre saying mate, having played the original Quake 3 alot. But still hitting a 90% rail in a tournament setting against a top 5 player isnt something I could ever dream of doing, not even with the RA3 patch that came out where the hitboxes went retarded big(glue shaft for days). I think some respect atleast is warranted.
for IRL over the shoulder footage of rage yelling at monitor look up "DreamHack Winter 2011: Raging Strenx" video on youtube
"arue kidding me
to make 90
percent rail"
>Game has been forfeited.
LOL
this video was compressed one too many times for 720p to look this bad lol :D
thanks for the upload though, well worth watching :)
You have to choose situations when to be aggressive.
This is all shaft map. I am talking it.

Reaching percentages like this inhuman, and can only be given as a gift from the gods :)
Do you remember which LAN it was? If it's one of the italian LANs I might have the demo and can upload it in 4K.
can you upload cypher vs rapha match too?
"Toxy-city"
Umm excuse me?
Smh
That's how its pronounced....
Yes! What happened to their videos??
It's not about the country.
In starcraft 2, Idra from US is a well known ragequitter
World champion was cypher at that time, not rapha... so nvc was wrong
to be honest that was a 76% rail gun
I think strenx because he's hitting more than rapha
Match start 01:30
Fucking pro rapha oh my godness
Yep I'd say it was actually strenx who just didn't play well there but Rapha is still an amazing player.
exactly strenx being angry moving in straight lines and wondering how rapha is hitting 90 pct rail all of a sudden
