I've had 3 Tonks, still got my Rachael, she will be 21 in May if she makes it. She is in Kidney failure, but we found it in routine bloods at 16, and the numbers weren't really bad. Have been treating ever since. My first, Skipper, was a Seal point, she lived to 18 5, lost my Emmie, a rare tortie, at 17 2 years ago. Rachael is a Lilac. They are the best friend you will ever have, but need attention, stimulation. Very much shoulder riders, and talkative! I wish you both long happy lives
We started back when I was a child, only the siamese were allowed in the house. Then a tonkinese slipped in, because they look the same. They have a completely unique nature. They actually like humans and won't claw your eyeballs out if they get annoyed. We still have some seal point saimese that are more dangerous than honey badgers if you are strange to them. I am not really a cat person. Sometimes they move in and let me be their human until they decide to move out. It is discouraging on many levels when one of your cats decides to dump you. One of my favorite cats actually lives with my neighbors now, a pure anbabescin. The daughter said she found him. Who am I to argue with a kid over a cat..? They let him out, he comes over here and wanders around, gets in the house, eats lunch, beats up my other cat, pisses all over everything, and goes back "home". Frigging traitor.
Mine lived 22 years. As with all long life siamese types... renal failure. Their predecessors who guarded the temples were bigger than german shepherds.
Love Tonks so much. Adopted a girl who was a victim of divorce and neither person wanted to take her (or perhaps wasn't in a position to care for her). We were great friends for the rest of her life. The rescue centre said she was overlooked because prospective adopters thought she would be 'difficult '. Crazy - she was delightful all her years. Thank you for lovely memories.
I just got my first tank and me about six weeks ago he is what they call a blue. But he's like a light grey he's absolutely gorgeous. I lost my 18 year old cat 3 months ago, he was a tabby Bengal mix..miss him so much. My tonks name is Frankie.. he acts more like a dog. My Yorkie Bailey is no longer depressed..I am training Frankie on a leash.. take him for walks, well I carrying most of the time LOL he is only 5 months😊
Orion is such a cute kitty! Tonkinese cats are cute. We've had three Burmese cats, and the one we used to have (who was named Linkin after the band Linkin Park (don't ask...it was my dad's idea)) sadly passed away the day before Thanksgiving here in America at the age of 10. Sure, Linkin was lovable at times, but most of the time he caused a great deal of cacophony because he was a Burmese cat, and meowed a lot. He also liked to get into stuff like a two-year-old human toddler.
My sister has a 2 year old tonkinese cat and a 4 month old kitten and the kitten always curls up under the covers with me when I visit, I'm really looking into getting a pair of them as kittens their so affectionate i love them.
I absolutely adore Tonkinese kittens and cats…so perfect, delicate yet strong, curious yet so intelligent, and very very loving. My girl Willow is now 16, but still loves to charge round after her string on a stick….demands her dad plays every night with her. This film clip made my heart mush……she is a gorgeous baby….so glad you have her. Her in the U.K. it seems to be harder to find Toni’s, and if you do, the babies are spoken for before being born!! Crazy! So I count myself lucky to have had a variety of cats, especially Toni’s over the years. Feel envious now, just want to sweep your baby up and nuzzle and love her cuteness. Enjoy! I had a tonk that was seal point. Best cat I ever had. They are not really full cats... their claws dont retract... and they like humans. I could wear mine like a scarf sleeping on my neck. He didn't care. Always took him off when he started that happy drooling thing. They are a rare and special thing. Most people will never experience the pleasure they bring.
Tonks always need another animal, dog or cat, they don't care. They absolutely need interaction. Denying them this is not good, leads to them destroying stuff.
@@Devncole Yes but the difference is Tonkinese cats have darker tone than Siamese. There will be more brown hair and brown hair will cover almost the entire face. From what I noticed, her cat is Siamese.
Don't mess with me bitch! No, that's simply not the case. Tonkinese can be any variation of making tones from very dark seal point to a fawn/lilac tone. You may want to take note of the other distingusing traits like head shape and distinctive eye shape that is Burmese in nature. My kitty is 16 now and very pale, her mom was a lilac point simese and dad was a pure burmese. Lots of catteries and books can guide you through the differences. Good luck with your research! 👍😊
