I LISTENED TO THIS AT THE DISCO IN THE 70'S (VINYL OF COURSE). WHEN u listen to this loud at the Disco on vinyl its like your in the middle of the orchestra. Dancing this made you feel like a million dollars. I cry when I hear this music. so much fun. I pray every generation gets that same feeling.
While I love that spoken introduction (it definitely sets the tone for the song), it annoys me greatly that for some reason the man's voice is so quiet you can barely hear what he's saying at all. Nearly every version of this song I've heard has sounded like this. I wonder if it was a screw-up in the original mixing process.
That spoken intro has always bothered me. The female voice is pretty loud and clear, but the male voice (Alfred) can barely be heard at all. It's been like that in all the versions of this song I've found that have the spoken intro. Has it always been this way? If so, that's pretty darned annoying. That said, the song itself is brilliant from start to finish. In fact, nearly all of Alec's work is impeccable. Epic, lush, symphonic disco. The kind that shows off the best of Disco music.

Maybe some should do a re-edit with the male intro voice more loud.
