Welcome to the world's longest, and probably most boring to watch, Solo GM The Lightblade. I got inspiration from the video @Chablo91 posted yesterday ( th-cam.com/video/zQ_1l4dYIB4/w-d-xo.html ), showing that we can now load into GMs with a -99 handicap. The GM enemies are at 2050, and the lowest possible power you can go in with is 1951 where you're still able to deal damage. Previously you'd be only able to load in with a max of -40, so I'm not too sure if it was TFS or this season that allowed for higher handicaps. Either way, considering I'd previously done other max handicaps, 0 resilience and 0 mod runs before, it was fitting to do the -99 run. A couple of things about this run: First, surprisingly you can actually take at least two hits from many of the attacks. I was expecting everything to be a 1 hit at -99, but the majority of the attacks you'll survive at least one hit. Second, I skipped the majority of the champions. As you probably tell from the beginning, it takes at least 1-2 minutes to defeat a single barrier champion, and that's making use of multiple Anarchy shots. I knew on the boss fight itself it was going to be pretty unrealistic to be able to focus on a champion for that long to be able to clear them out for platinum without taking splash damage back, so I opted to skip the majority of them in the beginning to save some more time. Even if I had infinite anarchy ammo I still feel like it'd be unrealistic for this specific GM. Third, I used pretty much every cheese or skip imaginable. The damage you deal at -99 is pretty much pitiful, and again in this strike specifically the boss fight would be a nightmare to do legit at this much of a handicap. While it's entirely possible, there's far too many inconsistencies at this handicap, and it'd make the run even longer than it already is. Fourth, this strike is both very good for the -99 handicap run, but also very bad. Solely for a completion, a majority of the strike can be either skipped or cheesed. But the Hive Guardians are a menace to deal with during the boss, especially so before the final phase. If not for those it'd obviously be very easy to do. I do think there's other strikes in the line up that will be possible to do platinum at -99, but for a single completion and ignoring champions, this one isn't too bad either. Lastly, this isn't a "true" -99 handicap, as two of the weapons are still 2010. I think if scaling is still as it was before, it means they're doing more damage than they otherwise would if everything is at -99, but the damage taken is as it should be. I think the damage I deal is bad enough as it is, so I don't think that should be too much of a problem. But it's pretty much impossible to get an exact set of everything at 1951 (or 1937 considering the +14 artifact). Maybe customisable difficulty will allow for "true" runs like this. edit: this was apparently changed, regardless of weapon level the damage dealt is based on your average power level, so this is a true -99 handicap. It's mostly just a test of patience, having a gear set that allows you to get to 1951, and not getting too greedy. This attempt was unfortunately by far the worst entrance area I've done, about 5 minutes slower than usual. And I also sped up a few sections where I was just doing nothing but firing the scout rifle endlessly, to make it less tedious to watch. Also, the enemies in GM are 2050, not 2030. Your power level is limited to 2030. 2050-1951 = 99
They really have fallen from grace. Even in year 4 GMs could be a little scary since you still took a ton of damage (and season 16 by extension, in which the best example of this was OG lightblade). Resilience change and the power creep of subclass 3.0 and better weaponry over time has contributed to GM difficulty decaying substantially. Hoping in frontiers things get shaken up a bit :)
The first time we got The Corrupted as a GM was rough, all 3 of us standing in the back with Wish Ender plick-plonking until it was safe to move. These days it's a speedrun challenge more than anything, same goes for most other activities in the game currently.
@@Shinybook51yeah but having better load out and more optimized subclass is part of the game, they shouldn’t stop doing that but they really should increase difficulty, as we get better weapon and subclass difficulty should go up too, even as a solo player it’s easy to solo it

It is because he takes his time and uses cover. Some Destiny 2 players fail or hate certain content because they want to rush through it, not realizing how scaling works. I have watched many videos from this Brother, especially his soul series. It's improved my game a lot. Everyone wants to one-shot or one-phase everything, and that's why you fail or hate specific GM. Players don't use the characters or their abilities correctly. No one communicates
@@Kotoknow yeah on the one hand, there's a lot of takeaways you can get from watching eso play and learn more about top level movement, but on the other, it feels like this is massively downplaying his skill or at least in this case his patience
I've been a sub of Chablo's for a long time, great player with a lot of knowledge, he got tired of the game and took a break, but looks like he's back at it posting again, glad to see they tried adding difficulty to gm's

Chablo91 referred to it as the Super level GM. At 100 under, the enemies are immune to your damage. This is the lowest level you can be to complete.

Solo run is not exactly the same as a three man lfg. The game does upscale for the amount of gaurdians.
