Lycanroc, Kommo-o/Goodra, or even Pawmot can counter with Incineroar, Dragonite, Politoed, Porygon-Z, Grimmsnarl, & Hydrapple with how Nemona has set up their final movesets. And Nemona's will is so OP to fight through Pecharunt's control to still being herself to fight us!!!! And I have to say, Nemona's new improved team is interesting!!!! I figured Lycanroc, Goodra, & Pawmot would remain as they're signature constants with her (of course the Starter remains too). I did think it was a good changing Dudunsparce & Orthworm, as they never felt real in her team. I Really wasn't expecting another Pseudo like Kommo-o though. And Nemona is sorta pulling a Leon, as unlike Leon where one of his pokemon (that's not the starter) is at a type disadvantage to the player's starter (Rhyperior, Seismitoad, & Mr. Rime), Nemona picks one that's stronger than the player's (Milotic, Ribombee, & Dusknoir) {as well as the addition that Nemona also gains another starter of either Infernape, Decidueye, or Greninja} - But I am a bit curious which of team fits Nemona best more. Dusknoir seems kinda far-off of Nemona's character & personality); in which this also links to her additional partner as Infernape which I also think matches Nemona well too as Infernape is quite literally about fiery frontal fighting in its battle style rather than Decidueye & Greninja's allusive & trick battle styles
It is very funny because in spanish, when Penny is complaining about her dad, Arven doesnt respond that. He rosponds saying that a dad that cares more about you is better than not having a dad and Penny just feels bad
Also it looks like her dad is Peony (I think thats how it’s spelled), as we know she’s from galar and “Adven-tour” is what Peony called the dlc tasks (all combined and not separately) in swsh
Ending the story with all the friends made during the game really felt like a true ending, bittersweet but I really love how your protagonist isn’t all alone anymore and it’s acknowledged that you’ve grown and made connections.
Penny’s dad said “Adven-tour” which has only been said by one other, very overprotective and fatherly character, Peony. Penny’s dad is Peony. She went back to the Galar region to spend time with her family.
In the French version she tells us that her Dad always calls her "ma petite Pania" (it means my little Penny), which is exactly what Peony called Peonia ("ma petite Pivonia" = my little Peonia)
@kensizhang5398 they're different people, Peonia is Peony's daughter that we meet in the Crown Tundra DLC, and Penny is the leader of Team Star that we meet in Scarlet and Violet. However, it's hinted in the epilogue of S/V that they're most likely sisters.
Was recently playing my 1st playthrough of scarlet( finished on violet) and decided to read the story. After the initial team star incident penny did a plea bargain of sorts as to get the bosses out of punishment she was the only one suspended on the pretense that she will be sent overseas(galar) for school but in reality she got suspended.
so small thing, it has been confirmed now that Penny's dad is Peony. the whole 'Adven-tour' thing basically confirms it, plus from how Penny describes him both in Area 0 and in the epilogue, Peony is a perfect match
You lot have been blatantly corrupted by Legends Arceus if you think a lack of physical resemblance disproves this. Children _can_ look nothing like one of their parents, that's what happens when you mix genes together. Basic biology.
I love how quickly Penny gets humbled when Arven makes a comment about her dad. She's just like, "Oh, umm... Riiiiiiiight. He lost his parent... I should shut up now."
It also shows that while they may butt heads, they still clearly care about each other a lot. I mean, Arven clearly has issues with Nemona, but he's clearly still concerned when she goes missing.
Yeah, even though some parts were very predictable (like, as soon as you see carmine with purple eyes JUST after a purple object disappeared and a title card with purple goo appeared? Yeah definetly not possesed) it was super fun and a great way to wrap things up, even if it was a bit cheesy at times, hopefully this isnt a time limited event so everyone can expirence it
5:34 the other option could also be interpreted as the player being confused over their friendship thanks to kieran's spiral into insanity, but it very much gives off the vibes of secret lovers
If you send out Ogerpon or any one of the Loyal Three against Pecharunt, you can get some dialogue, similar to how you can get special dialogue when you bring Ogerpon to Kieran and Carmine's first battles in Blueberry Academy. Ogerpon goes, "GRAH! Pon pon!", signifying it's hatred towards the master of the goons who killed its friends. And Pecharunt will get riled up if any of the Loyal Three is sent out against it, obviously agitated that it's minions have turned traitor on it.
Did anyone else notice that Arven and Penny are doing different dances than everyone else? It’s more noticeable at 40:41, Arven’s dance is more stiff and the dialogue mentions he looks embarrassed, while Penny’s dance is more energetic and like she’s more into it, although I don’t know what happens when you call out her name when she first gets possessed. Also if you bring Ogerpon out for the final battle it gets angry, and if you use one of the loyal three Peacharunt gets angry.
Literally. This DLC has felt like a whole new game, and I’m so sad that it’s come to a close. I really do love all these characters. Kieran and Arven especially. But alas, they will always be there to play again. And we will be getting more games sometime in the future.
It really puts their first attempt at DLC chapters to shame. I mean I enjoyed Isle of Armour and The Crown Tundra, but the story content in those was very straightforward and disconnected from each other and everything else. The weird chicken dancing aside, the music while everyone is cursed is really darn good. I love it a lot. And also Arven's jealousy. Honestly, my headcanon prior to the epilogue was that both he and Kieran would become jealous of one another in relation to the MC. I still think that can be valid, but I'm also a bit glad that Kieran kept that childlike innocence to him not to react to Arven's "flex". Those interactions were just cute in every sense. All of the interactions with the characters were. I'm very glad we got this epilogue and showed all five of our friends together in one way or another. What a way to close off the story for Gen 9!
So Pecharunt did affect Kieran. It says it brings out desires and capabilities, and he suddenly got a much bigger affinity for battling after being around the Loyal Three's monument before their resurrection, so maybe because the toxin was coming from their bodies and not the mochi Pecharunt could influence him but not control him

Mikey's reaction to Carmine with the purple eyes was hilarious! 😂 I did the epilogue in Scarlet and then chose the other answers in Violet. 😂 When you are a girl & choose the "yeah he's...a friend" Arven's jealousy is hilarious 😂 I thought the same thing with the trip with friends comments from Penny & Arven. I was like "we went thru area zero all together"!
I think the "he's.....a friend" option mightve been to signify that Kieran and your friendship was pretty strained until recently, and it's slowly getting fixed after his apology. Pokemon usually doesn't insinuate romantic interests between the player character and other npc's, I think the last time something even remotely similar happened was watching the fireworks on the museum terrace in X and Y.
There was also the date with Olivia in SM, which was definitely something I wasn’t expecting. Kid me was thrilled because I had a major crush on Olivia, adult me now looks back and thinks it was kinda weird to have your character go on a date with an adult woman. Who is also I believe at the time of the date technically your subordinate as Elite Four to the Champion.
Petition for Mikey to do the Club Room cosches!! 😂😂 The club room coaches are so much fun! The interactions between the characters are great AND … we get their backstories and lore! Just my opinion, hope this inspires someone to go do them and get fun dialogue :P
Definitely didn't stalk this channel for this episode I'm a little sad that Michael didn't catch that Penny is the daughter of Peony, with the whole "Adven-tour" thing
@@JCXP123 no but it also wasn't mentioned that he only had one child. Likely, SWSH takes place at the same time as SV. Mostly because Penny would have been in Paldea when the DLC for SWSH takes place
Fun Fact: When you invite Nemona to the Club Room at Blueberry Academy, you can see her talking with Lacey about having met at a party. Where Nemona challeged Lacey's gym leader dad. The dialogue literally says its Clay
It was crazy how they did this particular story in how if anyone eats the neurotoxin mochi everyone becomes chicken dancing mochi zombies and if they do make the mythical Pokémon part of the game again preferably without the threat of a zombie apocalypse Also it’s fitting that Penny got herself a veevee mask after all eeveelutions are kind of her thing
I’m so happy I didn’t have ANY spoilers for the epilogue, this was really fun. I’m kinda sad to see Scarlet and Violet end but I’m excited to see what we get next in the Pokémon series
i like when Arven said to Penny her dad just cares for her she look at him a bit and immediately agrees. She knows what hes been through and dont wanna rub it in.
I like how Pecharunt's malignant chain ties back into the toxic chain with the Loyal Three. And because pecharunt is a ghost type, it makes sense that the toxic chain would also have the ability to bring back the Loyal Three from the dead.
Love this dlc, i like the development of all characters, especially arven, nemona and kieran. All 3 have shot in top 10 characters of all time, along with larry, drayton, siebolt, N, etc.
Honestly, I want/*NEED* Kieran to return in SOME capacity in the BW Revisit. (Blueberry Academy is based in Unova) With his growth we see in the DLC alone, he feels more like a living character and still HAS MORE potential in the future. Even if he only comes back in a PWT or Battle Subway support/opponent Role, having Kieran back would feel "Right", you know?
9:09 I surprised you didn't noticed the game confirmed Penny dad being Peony from Crown Tundra especially since his two catchphrases are "Adven-Tour" and "Ultra-Mega"something
This epilogue is weird, creepy, and hilarious at the same time...I mean seriously, everyone doing the chicken dance while screaming "Mochi mochi" made me laugh so hard XD
I'm not gonna lie, when I played the DLC and saw *the dance* and heard the music that went along with it, I nearly lost my mind. Like, holy hell, I haven't laughed that hard in a while. Especially when you see Arven's embarrassed, half-hearted dance compared to Penny going all gung-ho with hers.
This is the first pokemon game where I felt bittersweet that I'm not gonna see these characters ever again (unless they bring them back for cameos in future games or something). I really like all of them :(
When I played and first saw Arven and penny with purple eyes and joker smile with their backs turned, i was like, " Well, there's my nightmares for tonight". 😂😂😂
Still kinda wish you'd done an episode on the special coaches, lots of amazing dialogue between all of them and your reaction to what Cyrano trades you!
Another fun fact. Nemona has a new team in this match and her team is slightly different depending on your starter In fact, one pokemon she has is switched to a kitakami pokemon good against your starter
I could honestly see the bad battle tactics being deliberate on the part of the devs - the trainers are possessed by Pecharunt, but their Pokemon aren't and so are deliberately holding back because they know something's wrong. Or it could just be weird AI stuff.
The two things I still wanted out of this after playing it was 1) A more solidified or at least implied connection between Pecharunt and the Loyal Three, as the whole toxic chain thing and all being poison type could have been expanded on. And 2) More direct confrontation between Nemona and Carmine. "They're my rival! - No, They're MINE!! - Well, they've been my rival for longer, so that settles it! - Settles it?! HA! Let's battle for it! - Battle?! You're ON!!!"
For the first, apparently there's special dialogue of you fight it with Ogerpon or the Loyal Three. If Ogerpon is used, she's shown to be very angry. Pecharunt does the same if any of the Three are used
@@thedragonwarrior5861 I suppose that would be one way to do it. I had considered using the three on my team to see if there would be a reaction, but they were far too weak. I did use Ogerpon against Kieran at the BBA fight... made me feel bad to make him that mad... But beyond that, I wanted to know MORE about the connection, rather than IF there was a connection.
Just one thing really shines in this for me, Nemona acts just like Goku, down to running up on new people and introducing herself very loidly in their face and getting excited about hearing a strong person.
This really made me wish the game came with voice acting. The idea of hearing them all say mochi mochi would have been hillarious and creepy all the sametime and would have made those cutscenes so much better.
But you didn’t actually go together for that. He went his way, you went yours, he caught up to you after he saw you were near the Titans, and then you parted ways after lunch. This time, he actually went on the flight with you, visited your new friend with you, stayed in the community centre with you. That’s a trip with a friend.
Kieran's borderline confession scene, the jealousy from Arven, and the whole "just a friend" vs "... a friend" dialouge, and you're telling me Kieran/MC ISNT canon? (Playing as a girl gives all of these a WHOLE different vibe) I love Kieran, man and OMG this whole epilogue just made me want it to be canon even more than the Indigo Disk did. Why have they not included dating yet? Like it doesnt have to impact the story at all, just gives the fans more interactions with their fav characters. I like this epilogue, i just wish it was longer. Gave us more time with the friends
Penny's right, we really went into horror movie territory with this Epilogue. The goofiest horror I have ever seen. That mochi dance music will make me laugh and stress me out simultaneously for god knows how long 😅
This Pokémon game is HOW YOU SO A STORY!!! Whoever wrote the story for the entirety of scarlet and violet and the DLC’s needs a raise!!!! Ya sure it had some technical problems and some of the star line was a bit eh at times it still came together gracefully and literally the only thing that would have made anything better would have been seeing Namona and ol’ crazy eyes battle or at least talk a little more cause I was beyond excited to are Karmine and namona interact and I feel like they never really did? @@thatoneguy5343 All things considered, it probably didn't bring them back to life, it probably screwed with the timeline instead based on the crystal pool cutscene
Also think about it he was right in front of the store we’re pecharunt was when we lied to him the second time so it’s possible that only a fraction of Pecharunts power reached him causing the attitude change but not the extreme chicken dance change we see in this epilogue
Pecharunt was still slumbering when the whole thing with Kieran happened.
That would.make sense 🤔
This game is the best written, sure Gen 5 had amazing story but so does this plus it has some of the best lines in the game
I agree. I think that gen 9 has the best story that they've ever done.
Gen 5 is going through its time in the spotlight like Sinnoh was pre-BDSP/PLA. I’m sure that after gen 5 stuff gets released, we’ll see the next wave of people saying generation 6 was the best.
@@TwilightChomperEnthusiasti don’t think anyone would say with confidence that gen 6 is the best generation unless it was literally the only one they played
Ah, yes. My favorite line of dialogue: “Mochi! MOCHI!!!”
@@Quirk1ess I've played every pokemon game, and I X/Y are my favorite games lol
Fun fact: Malignant Chain has a 50% chance of Badly Poisoning the target. Meaning it quite literally is 100% Accurate with 50% Chance. The quote was fulfilled.
Everyone look out! The evil, overpowered, annoying mythical has stolen our best meme!!! WE’RE ALL DOOMED!!!!!
Interesting because if you pick that as a boy Arven takes it as Player and Kieran having a complicated history.
Pftt that option is hilarious. I picked it and I started dying of laughter
Wait so you get different dialogue if you're female and male protagonist for that dialogue ? Interesting
That makes more sense actually
9:22 the look Penny gave while looking at him, possibly remembering Arvin's dad/mom made her take back being annoyed by her dad's annoyance.
That line where Penny talks about her dad is a little different in Violet. I like how they acknowledge that difference!
Judgement bird pfp??
@@Frogman189 Wrong bird but right series ^u^. It's punishing bird!
Holy fudge is that punishment bird from the hit game lobotomy corporation?
I will admit the character writing in this was noticeably better and I actually enjoyed this quite a bit
Petition for Mikey to do the Club Room cosches!! 😂😂
The club room coaches are so much fun! The interactions between the characters are great AND … we get their backstories and lore! Just my opinion, hope this inspires someone to go do them and get fun dialogue :P
Definitely didn't stalk this channel for this episode
I'm a little sad that Michael didn't catch that Penny is the daughter of Peony, with the whole "Adven-tour" thing
i mean im not surprised...i dont think he recognised the unova battle theme either
@@mridupabandas7248 yea. I caught onto both the first time
Was it mentioned that Peony had more than one child though? 😮
@@JCXP123 no but it also wasn't mentioned that he only had one child. Likely, SWSH takes place at the same time as SV.
Mostly because Penny would have been in Paldea when the DLC for SWSH takes place
I don't Penny is the daughter of Peony they don't look nothing alike.
Fun Fact: When you invite Nemona to the Club Room at Blueberry Academy, you can see her talking with Lacey about having met at a party. Where Nemona challeged Lacey's gym leader dad.
The dialogue literally says its Clay
It was crazy how they did this particular story in how if anyone eats the neurotoxin mochi everyone becomes chicken dancing mochi zombies and if they do make the mythical Pokémon part of the game again preferably without the threat of a zombie apocalypse
Also it’s fitting that Penny got herself a veevee mask after all eeveelutions are kind of her thing
Run-on sentence ass
i really like the fact that mochi nemona always terastelizes their starter with the secondary typing instead of the primary as a way to throw you off.
This was so funny. Penny was absolutely amazing in this everything out of her mouth was gold. Not even possession can quell Nemona
My favorite part is when you turn to Kieran and say, "I'll handle Nemona, you go hold off those 30 people behind us."
I mean, it's not like Kieran could handle Nemona
To be fair, Kieran would probably have a better chance dealing with all of them as opposed to one Nemona.
@@tranatkikomi6873
Plus, Kieran's team, as someone has pointed out, is meant for double battles, since that's how they do it at Blueberry.
I like how Pecharunt's malignant chain ties back into the toxic chain with the Loyal Three. And because pecharunt is a ghost type, it makes sense that the toxic chain would also have the ability to bring back the Loyal Three from the dead.
Pecharunt slowly trying to escape while you and Kieran are distracted by the possessed Penny and Arven is SO funny
32:51 I think it's funny that Penny is high energy and Arven is low energy while they do the dance 😂
Love this dlc, i like the development of all characters, especially arven, nemona and kieran. All 3 have shot in top 10 characters of all time, along with larry, drayton, siebolt, N, etc.
I’m surprised Michael didn’t notice that penny’s dad is peony from the crown tundra with the anven-tour and super mega ultra lines
I am so shocked that Kieran wasn't the posessed one, this was awesome, thanks Michael!
Congratulations on MandjTV plays reaching a million subs! 🎉❤
@zacharyalaydrus4258 I wonder what game it will be in, I'm excited for it 😁
cool
Honestly, I want/*NEED* Kieran to return in SOME capacity in the BW Revisit.
(Blueberry Academy is based in Unova)
With his growth we see in the DLC alone, he feels more like a living character and still HAS MORE potential in the future.
This epilogue made me realize that we really do need voice acting, at least in cutscenes.
This whole epilogue just felt like one massive yokai watch story with all the control by the pokemon ad the purple smoke and stuff
That’s exactly what I thought it felt like a yo Kai watch episode
I can see that, yeah... Man, I love Yokai Watch.
This epilogue is weird, creepy, and hilarious at the same time...I mean seriously, everyone doing the chicken dance while screaming "Mochi mochi" made me laugh so hard XD
I think they had fun with this DLC
@@KraylebStudios Oh yeah, I can definitely tell that they had fun with it, I'm just imagining the devs laughing at the mochi dance XD
I really like all of them :(
32:07
Arven and Penny: Just Eat
MC: Ultra instinct Dodge
Kieran: Clumsiness saves his face
When I played and first saw Arven and penny with purple eyes and joker smile with their backs turned, i was like, " Well, there's my nightmares for tonight". 😂😂😂
Still kinda wish you'd done an episode on the special coaches, lots of amazing dialogue between all of them and your reaction to what Cyrano trades you!
Another fun fact. Nemona has a new team in this match and her team is slightly different depending on your starter
In fact, one pokemon she has is switched to a kitakami pokemon good against your starter
I like how Mikey just glossed over the fact that Peony is Pennys dad
Just one thing really shines in this for me, Nemona acts just like Goku, down to running up on new people and introducing herself very loidly in their face and getting excited about hearing a strong person.
I saw Pecharunt’s backstory. He’s not inherently evil, he was misguided in his attempts to get love from his family😢
I love the mochi mochi music and dance, literally perfect combo of fun and FREAKING TERRIFYING!!
This really made me wish the game came with voice acting. The idea of hearing them all say mochi mochi would have been hillarious and creepy all the sametime and would have made those cutscenes so much better.
Voice acting is unrealistic in a game that can't even conquer lag. Stick to Zelda games if that's what you want, it ain't happening here.
@@gengarzilla1685I agree, but you didn't have to be such a dick.
Pokemon never needs voice acting, idk why people want it
@@TheGodIvy shutup Masuda
i cant believe they casually dropped that penny is also peony's kid. like they said she was from galar before but the adven-tour line really sells it
Arven: I’ve never taken a trip with a friend before either.
Me: We literally went around the region battling giant monsters. That’s a trip!
But you didn’t actually go together for that. He went his way, you went yours, he caught up to you after he saw you were near the Titans, and then you parted ways after lunch. This time, he actually went on the flight with you, visited your new friend with you, stayed in the community centre with you. That’s a trip with a friend.
This epilogue felt like watching a classic episode of the pokemon anime.
Arven being jealous of Kieran is adorable it shows he really cares about the MC
This should of been a longer story cuz it was so fun
Two things: I absolutely died when Carmine started dancing, and I'm reeeally digging Pecharunt's version of the Loyal Three theme
Kieran's borderline confession scene, the jealousy from Arven, and the whole "just a friend" vs "... a friend" dialouge, and you're telling me Kieran/MC ISNT canon? (Playing as a girl gives all of these a WHOLE different vibe)
I love Kieran, man and OMG this whole epilogue just made me want it to be canon even more than the Indigo Disk did. Why have they not included dating yet? Like it doesnt have to impact the story at all, just gives the fans more interactions with their fav characters.
I like this epilogue, i just wish it was longer. Gave us more time with the friends
You can visit Nemona, Arven, and Penny in their dorm rooms again, and they'll comment on the epilogue. Penny is definitely a mood.
I love that during the mochi dance, Arven is so stiff, as iff he's barely resisting it but Penny is all in on the dancing.
The fact Michael didn’t notice peony is penny’s dad is a crime
Edit: ok he *did* notice he just didn’t call it out
i like how the move syrup bomb from Hydrapple is red normally but becomes yellow/golden when its shiny (great touch)
Him saying *Penny is gayyy* got my rolling on the floor
Penny's right, we really went into horror movie territory with this Epilogue. The goofiest horror I have ever seen. That mochi dance music will make me laugh and stress me out simultaneously for god knows how long 😅
"Proceeds to chicken dance with malicious intent".
If you had chosen Penny before the battle, Kieran makes a comment about how her dance seems more enthusiastic😂
Me talking to the game as I played:
Arven: "And I'm Arven. Turtleduck's absolute BEST friend."
Me: "Got that right."
Arven: "And I'm Arven. Nanna's absolute BEST friend"
Me: "Well.. maybe 4th best friend more like a brother"
I just like how the most threatening and creepiest thing to happen to a pokemon town is the chicken dance
You say he's just a friend
You say he's just a friend
This Pokémon game is HOW YOU SO A STORY!!! Whoever wrote the story for the entirety of scarlet and violet and the DLC’s needs a raise!!!! Ya sure it had some technical problems and some of the star line was a bit eh at times it still came together gracefully and literally the only thing that would have made anything better would have been seeing Namona and ol’ crazy eyes battle or at least talk a little more cause I was beyond excited to are Karmine and namona interact and I feel like they never really did? But still amazing games
9:07 Peony(Crown Tundra) is Penny's father , that makes Peonia her sister , and chairman Rose her uncle.
I’m still upset they didn’t make the Mochi Mochi dance an Emote😭
Pecharunt reminds me of the Overlord from Ninjago.
Fitting how I named my Pecharunt after the Overlord and named my Ogerpon after a character affected by what he did
Hey, that's my favorite season of Ninjago!
Which one? The Overlord appears in three seasons
I named mine edibles
@@IsleofPigsStudiosI think they mean harumi
@@davidmckenzie9086 So they mean Crystalized (Since that is the only season where Harumi and The Overlord are in the same season) (I know I was referring to Crystalized in the original comment, I was leaving it vague due to Harumi in that season being a very messy subject)
Kieran: Oh no, everyone is possessed and we have to battle them.
Me: Kieran they're possessed. They don't know what's going on so lets play a prank on them. Ya see that amulet coin my Kingambit is holding?
Time to rob em
In case no one noticed, the only character who says adven-tour, aka penny's dad, is Peony from the Sword and Shield DLC!
when Pecharunt ran away shouting "Cha cha cha!" all I could imagine was Grunty Boi going "Ta-Ta!!" as he leaves the sponsored segment. :D
Michaels mom: "you've made plenty of friends"
Michael not impressed: "thats four, mom"
Me being proud that i made 2 friends in 2 years
Scarlet and Violet being the most thirsty Pokémon game is not something I had on my bingo card
The indigo disk is so thirsty, it's insane.
The final battle with Nemona (not shown in this video) is insane. The BST of that battle is ridiculous.
Ik you don’t get this enough so I’d like to say your performance in reading the text has gotten so much better and has a lot more voice good job
The mochi mochi theme is so good! It’s got me bopping my head so much
After Michael said “BROTHER!” to Kieran, I realized The MC of this game is kinda like Aoi Todo from JJK to Kieran being Yuji
32:36 Arven and Penny doing the Chicken Dance Aggressively towards Mikey and Kieran
I love how pecharunt gets upset if you use the loyal three against him. then he +6 shadow balls them into oblivion
