For whatever reason, I was searching "Turntablism" and came to the Turntablism Documentary....and then, here. Just coming to your page and knowing this is truly YOU is an honor in itself.
Growing up on Long Island, I used to listen to A.M. Radio, Imus in the morning, until one day my best friend's older brother tuned us in to 92 WKTU, and Planet Rock was the first Hip-Hop song I ever heard. At that moment, I knew hip-hop was in my blood. Then, I grew up with 92 WKTU, WBLS, 98.7 KISS Fm, and Paco SuperMixes. Movies such as Wild Style, Style Wars, Beat Street, etc, and the like and having every pair of LEE pin-stripes jeans.
Here we are 25 years+ later, and I am STILL digging through the crates, except on TH-cam, finding myself back at the earlier stages of my introduction to hip-hop.
Rob, this is a phenominal upload and it's guys like you that took it to the max and never gave up. And although I could never scratch a record beyond a mistake, your music, amonst many others, have embedded a mark in my soul. You did what I could only dream of.
By the way, I STILL have my Wild Style album on wax!!!
Peace to you my hip-hop pioneer brother. You are a legend. And you superbly implemented your God-given skills and carved your mark in musical history.

I've seen all the routines: Sinista's "Cold Gettin Dumb", Babu's "Blind Alley." Chopps "Pistol Grip Pump." Shortkut's "Listen To the Bass." All the classic joints. This is still my favorite routine of all time.

"even if I practice everyday, all day, forever...I'll never be anywhere near this man." And you DON'T WANT TO BE ANYWHERE NEAR ME for that would just make you a product or image of who I am as a DJ. Practice how you practice and come at it from your own personal angle. Then you'll turn into the best version of Andy Zook. I rather see that then the best version of Rob Swift. The scene doesn't need 2 Rob Swifts. Thanks for the kind words homey.

"Tick Tock Dit Dit Dit Do Do" Fly like an Eagle is a great classic song overall and to bring it into Hip Hop-Genius! Hip Hop is culture and art; definitely worthy of recognition in the Music Hall of Fame and Berklee College that is quintessential in music study. #True Art, #Creativity #Genius #RIPBizMarkie

Look, back then I never heard of you, I figured all these other dudes were well known and had it like that. Like once your well known you'll get the calls like MJ or Kobe, After the invisible scratch pickles I saw all these big dj crews start coming out, I bought your guys album and did not like it. (my opin) Then you took one of the dopest beats of all time and cut it up, (nicely) I herd you speaking while I typed and build character, was just said, you guys analyzed the styles and came correct to the dance. This set is good, so your practice paid off. Hearing you speak I have new respect and will enjoy going back and listening to your 90's shit. peace.
