    I am lucky enough to have a '57 4-door saloon. I have been fortunately in life to have had many interesting cars. Some much more expensive, many of them much faster. But there has never been a more reliable, more fun-to-drive car in my garage than my Morris Minor named "Sadie" - after the original owner, and from who's family we purchased her while living in Australia. This car puts a stupid grin on my face every time I open the garage. Taking her for a ride melts all my cares away, and it just makes me happy. 500 more horsepower wouldn't change a thing. It is so much more fun to drive a slower car quickly, than to have something with huge performance which you can't even hope to utilize. I could drive at 99% of the potential and never get a ticket - and have the time of my life.

      Thomas Webb thanks for the comment. I am being to learn the attraction to them. Tiffany has always wanted one. Now we are fighting who gets to drive. Hoping to take her out the weekend after we put the interior back together.

    lovely old car i am year older than her ...i more had mk2 escorts or the mk5 cortinas when younger but all ways liked the minor .. did buy a 1968 pick up for £50 when i was 20 but with living with parents and taking up my mothers drive way she was going nuts that she could not get her car parked had to give her up after a year...would still have one now if i could find a lock up..hope you have happy times in her take care.

      Very true, and when it comes to rust they will rust just about anywhere. To me they are slow, boring and an old ladies' car. But hey, to each their own..

    Dorothy is a real beauty!! A lovely car indeed.
    I was just looking at the prices on the Morris Minor Traveller. Properly sorted they are in the $30,000USD price range, to that one you said may be done for could well be a restoration candidate. The frames are simple enough in design that repairing them is not as expensive as you might think, and the entire wood section is available as a complete kit. I hope it gets saved. Great potential there.

    Perfect car for today's roads, with speed traps everywhere. what's the point of having a car that will do 150mph?

    • @brokenbritain9441
      @brokenbritain9441 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In the UK now the speed limit it's down to 20 mph and modern cars struggle to do 20 mph. Classic cars better at 20 mph

    • @whatsstefon
      @whatsstefon 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is why I enjoy riding my old Royal Enfield.
      However, while I’m not interested in doing 150mph, I do enjoy the acceleration from 0 to the speed limit in a car or on a bike.
