@conniesmith559 Since I first saw you as a kid in 66 or 67. You are just the best. You know how to convey that you care about the people that love you. I am glad that you lived a good life and I have followed you over the years. I have never heard anyone say a bad word about your heart felt songs music. Marty is one lucky guy!
I was stationed at FT Bliss, TX in 1965, when Connie Smith performed at the Fort Bliss NCO Club. She sit at my table during her break it was just she and I she is one of The most down to earth people I have met.. I could not believe she ask to sit at my table. We talk a bit and I seem to remember she had a brother who was in the service at that time. She is and was a marvelous Lady. Charles Key
Jimmy was so gentlemanly gracious with his guests. Connie was a delightfully new talent on the scene singing yet another of Bill Anderson's great compositions. These country folk sure had a way with words and emotion.
@Connie Smith That really is you, Connie Smith? What a pleasure to hear from you as since 1965 I've loved your music. In fact my older brother whose showbiz name is Bud Clayton was the promoter behind a show I believe you did in Albany, NY @1966. My mother and younger sister attended and were wowed, not only by your talent but by your graciousness. Yep, way back then I was listening to you on MY Tiny Blue Transistor Radio. BTW, miss Jimmy Dean, America's Favorite Son, as well as so many of the Country GREATS who have passed. You all left a legacy in music never to be duplicated -- and that's coming from a mostly city boy. God Bless you, too.
Connie Smith's voice has just been getting better and better with every song, She was always a great singer and entertainer. I love that she is now married to Marty Stuart, who always used to say ,lm going to marry that girl someday, Well done Marty , now Marty is thankfully going to look after our Connie ,with her illness. GODBLESS you BOTH ALWAYS ELIZABETH in❤❤❤❤❤ SCOTLAND ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@@iVenge I agree. Didn’t need to be groped that way, maybe he wasn’t intending it that way, but being a man myself I seemed to notice it right away, even before I read the comments. Anyway I love her, and I think she is a beautiful lady and wonderful singer
Well spotted n im thinking no wonder she left the music business. It must hve been hard t put up with all that touching up here there n everywhere just when she wanted t make a living from singing!
@@janicescott6569 He seemed to be pretty grabby with all the women on his show. Frequent guest Molly Bee seems to give him a few sharp digs with her elbow on a couple of her appearances.
I watch the marty stuart show on rfdtv .why do both of them stare at the camera? his pants are too long,he cant dance,i just want to see guest stars!!did marty get hung and trying to hide a rope scar?always wears a big ugly scarf around his neck,or is he just trying to hide wrinkles???
Connie Smith - one of the great voices of country music and so underrated and appreciated, as well!

Thank You for your service Charley!
wow what a great classic! Thank-you Connie!
I heard her sing this song at the Ryman just about 8 months ago. Still sounds real good.

Great Bill Anderson tune, wonderfully done . A favorite.
Love to hear Connie sing
Lucky me to have found this gem
Not hard to see how Marty Stuart got enthralled the first time he saw her.
Beautiful then,still beautiful.
Beautiful lady with a voice to match....true country!
she is the best
Connie is my all time favourite female country singer. I saw her in person a couple of years ago, and she still sings great.
I'm grateful to Eddie Stubbs for introducing me to this song when he was on DC's WAMU back in the '80s.
She still can kill this song your awesome Connie
She's always been so beautiful, still is after 7+ decades!
She's great.

She's one of the best to ever put her pretty face up to a microphone I think bar none ...
The best in any genre
Awesome song
Jimmie is holding her kind of high and tight, it kind of looks Connie reaches arround and tugs on his cuff to get him to lower his grip a little.
I always liked jimmy dean!him and little jimmy dickens had a good thing going, they were funny putting each other down!!!
Cuter than a speckled pup
This is a great clip. It would be nice if a better quality tape surfaces.
Early songs what I remember of the 50's
Sing it!!
Golden lady
This show was broadcast long before the Me Too Movement. In spite of Jimmy , she puts in a good performance.🙃.
@Connie Smith It isn't often that I get a reply from the performer herself ! A country classic !
I thought Jimmy was going to reach up there and grab himself a little Connie.

Yeah his left hand got a little high didn't it ??
That's what I was thinking. DANGGGGGG!!!!
Poor Connie , doesnt look happy about being groped, not much she could do about it though on air. What a creep!!
He did get a little handy.
Sounds like your part of that idotic me too movement
@@jamesturner1678 Thanks for being man enough t say it. What women had t put up with then (n now) just t make a living from singing

he's holding on pretty
Send this over to hillbilly,as a courtesy she's great
She is very taken with Jimmy Dean, so it appears to me.
How long was his show on? I think I was a teenager when he started the show.
James Blaine I remember the muppets, in this case Rowlf the Dog who played the piano, was part of the show.
James Blaine 3 years
