I feel like Japan is the most beautiful country with snow
Only in Japan can they make an event out of the opening of an almost empty container with some food inside! and that's why we love it!
I’m a fan of dry Aged food and drinks.
I have a small home brewing shed where i brew my own beers. And now i have 2 kinds of beer which are aged in bourbon barrels for 120 days.
My fridge-freezer broke yesterday and this appeared a few hours later!
This is so exciting for me! I have been tutoring English to a woman living in a town right near Yuzawa, and I've learnt a lot about Yukimuro but haven't had the chance to see one. Thanks for this video John
My mom used to keep food out on the fire escape when it was snowy and cold at Christmastime in NYC.
It’s amazing given how close Yuzawa is to Tokyo in straight line distance that there is such a diversity in weather given how warm it was the other day in Shinjuku even accounting for the mountainous of the area.
Loved this! Thank you, John!
every vlog you manage to make me laugh out loud, its wonderful. thanks jphn
One of my favorite places in japan is Yuzawa . One of my favorite japan hotel is Quattro at Yuzawa and its rice which i will deliberately take a shinkansen there to buy home.
thought the container would be full ... still interesting. love the scenery. going to part 2
OMG! John this is so freaking awesome! It's still snowy up there?! awesome!!
Dang I missed the live stream😟 I want to make that snow ice refrigerator.... my fridge is full lol
I have a snow refrigerator at home. Ok, technically is a normal refrigerator that is way overdue for defrosting 😅
Watching from Tucson Arizona.
John, you are the Huell Howser of Japan. Love watching your channel. California's Gold was the name of his show.
lol, In Sweden we got underground / in ground basements for same purpose =P but they work as a fridge all year around =)
During warm summer days I drag my laptop in there since it's a cool 10-12C in there while it's 32C outside.
I thought it would be quite different refrigerator , container with a frozen stuff inside , cool and different way to store food in cold , as long as there is right conditions for it , enough snow etc .... 👍😉!!! Cool stream !!!
so beautiful place...ecofriendly.
...from NEPAL 🇳🇵
There was a viral video on twitter that shows camels covered in snow in northwestern Saudi. From what I have read on twitter, it looks like some parts of Saudi Arabia get some snow.
Watching from Pułtusk Poland
I would love to go to Japan 🗾. It looks so beautiful there 😻. The people there are so nice 😺. But sadly I am unable to 😞. So I am living vicariously through you and it is great.😀😀😀😀
Don't lose tradition. Snowman John ☃️
I participated in a Jeep offroad race in Niigata
Love your channel.

We got a huge snowstorm last week it was so deep we couldn’t get out of our house!
I think this is a Suspense and Comedy kind of video :-) :-)
😂 "We're on Niigata time ⌚"
Watching from Philippines
You need great rice and Niigata in all of Japan has the best rice...so great sake...they did have large amounts.
Its the Chamber of secrets!
Hi John watching from philippines
John, heir Vaultmeister, thank you for the cool 👍😊
yeh was thinking jam packed too!!!! 😁2 months not open!!!!
Good sake there!!!! 🍶 ❄️🌬💨
Just like opening Capones vault not much in there 😂
Had thunder Snow last night in my City
Very strange weather lately
How do you get the frozen olive oil out of the bottle to cut it? 😁
Not "samui" 寒い but you should use "tsumetai" 冷たい to describe cold objects.
Hey John. How do they keep it at 0 degrees during the hotter months? Do they use electricity?
I love the Japanese Alps, and I don't even ski!
I am saying hello from Guam
But how do they get the frozen olive oil out of a glass bottle to slice? Don’t you have melt it to pour it out? Looks like a normal bottle.
Darn, just missed the live stream..
thye need to put more stuff in there....to refrigerate
You’d think they’d have snow Shovels....?
I thought they were aging a mountain of buckets of pickled vegetables and fruit.
Narrator: He did not return in five minutes...
so how is it special? is the trailer always under a layer of snow?
Looks like they are lagering sake. Cool.
Should have thrown a few kegs of local beer in there too!
How old is the stuff??
More Niigata content the better.
Niigata was known for their quality rice so why not sake
North Carolina
So much excitement over pretty a common thing. Visit Russia, nearly every country house would have and underground place to keep pickles. Same idea :-)
I thought it would be more stuff inside
Singapore
👍👍
How far are u from Tokyo?
Hawaii
Ugh!! Another Live Stream that I missed... all thanks to family. So... Thanks, oh family of mine😅😅. Oh well, such is life when Family comes first, especially during a Pandemic and you're the #1 child who's responsible for taking care of your parents in their dotage. 🙂🙃🙂 Sorry John. You'll have to settle for being in 2nd place for this video stream.... and I can't even blame TH-cam for this faux pas this time either.😅😅😛
Seattle Washington
Arkansas USA
This is a type of Root Cellar. It's very common amongst Natives in several countries. I like how they are making old traditions new again.
Philippines
San Diego ca
😲🤦🧐WHERE ARE THEIR HAT'S????????????
'bater waddler'
I just picture a little bowlegged guy carrying a full 20 gallon water bottle 😆
NY
Who's that? They have a nice camera. Missed your live stream again! A natural refrigerator? I'm done.
FROM PAKISTAN
Sacramento CA looks interesting.
Please Don't offense but I'm trying to figure out why people are filming this. Is this like a big deal?
Some tradition..some event. I'd suppose it's like the groundhog unveiling on groundhog day, or opening a community time capsule
Investing in crypto now should be in every wise individuals list, in some months time you'll be ecstatic with the decision you made today.
I thought it would be more stuff inside
Me too!
I know! Can you imagine if there was a single jar in there :D.
Still better than Geraldo opening Al Capone's vault lol
