I was lucky enough to be living in Florida right when MA and the other bands were on their rise. I got to see a lot of great bands between Orlando, Tampa/St. Pete, and Gainesville. Obituary, Death, Cynic, Atheist, Deicide, Nocturnus, and Monstrosity I got to see numerous times during the 'Golden Age' of death metal. Can't believe it's been so long now. We're all a bunch of granddads now!

WWII in Plastic Phil is a legend his grave is a10minute cycle from my house visited it many times to pay my respects. I like all music from Doors to Death an anything in between. The gigs are completely non existent here. Exhorder Iternal bleeding, napalm death, mayhem so many gigs cancelled or pushed back in the never ending rescheduled black hole. I’ve tickets to Ian brown(stone roses) it’s been put back 3times he be dead before it go’s ahead . I’d say all the venues are going to go bust soon then the pubs next.pubs have not open here since March. It’s nuts!

I was fortunate to witness MA on their "Altars Of Madness" tour in 1990 at The Country Club in Reseda, Ca. Their set blew me away! Was decades ahead of its time. Same year, same month, same place I also got to see Sepultura "Beneath The Remains" along with Obituary "Cause Of Death" and Sadus "Swallowed In Black" tour.

God imagine if Morbid Angel and underground metal were more succesfull post Cobains death, imagine them and some other metal bands like Type o Negative, Death and Carcass performing at woodstock 94, Reading or Rock in Rio other big festivals, Late Shos like SNL and hell, special guest spots at the simpsons?
I was lucky enuff when at my young age, living with MA music. Being live with them for few times in the UK in the early death grindcore metal appeared in the world of music. Yea.. Very hard to get their tickets to got thru as well. Hard to find the best blowpipe like David combo with a full fledged skills by the powerful trio Trey, Sandoval Terrorizer and Brunelle RIP. And still remembering to the other guys of 1989 Altar of Madness production, Digby and Morris. 😘😘😘
Domination is my favorite morbid record man.. then gateways.. but i agree 100 percent w you.. domination is very underrated.. every song on that album is good as fuck.. the riffs and drum tracks are very well thought out.. I just wish Steve was the vocals on that record.. lol.. but yes, I agree man..

Agreed. The very definition of death metal in my book, even though the vocals are rather unusual for the genre. Even the artwork and photos are sheer perfection.
gateways is definitely in the top two for sure.. that and domination.. Dawn of the angry is one of the best death metal songs ever wrote hands down.. you're talking back in the mid 90s man.. that song is brutal as fuck.. that beginning riff is just too sick.. and it's a toss up for me on who is the better front man.. Steve or David.. Steve's a better musician and Dave's vocals sound heavier and more deep gutteral sickness than Steve's vocs.. but I like Steve way better as a person.. he's not a dick like Dave lol.. but over all, morbid angel is and will always be one of the founding fathers of death metal on the planet.. period.. they paved the way for alot of bands and musicians.. I love everything they do.. and I love every album.. but gateways and domination are definitely the top two in my book.. imo..

Blessed Are the Sick is ridiculously thick with an essence you can't find today. It is unique even within the Morbid Angel catalog. I thought the first record was pretty good and Covenant has some massive classics, but Blessed reaches this pure and potent space. Didn't really dig the fourth record that much. I mean Dominate was a pretty good jam and a few others, but honestly I feel that in all that Morbid's greatest record is Formulas Fatal to the Flesh. It just cooks and burns and is transcendent. I keep hoping Trey finds that strange existential hope again ever since that record. I dug Tucker's vocals a lot too. I appreciated the efforts to reunite with David but his artistic style by that point was almost too over the top. Kingdon's at least puts them back on the right path.

You gotta dive and search in the River Trent in the UK. The entire slime pack pressing, almost all 20,000 copies were dumped there. It's not Earache's fault though, It was the asshole that was supposed to properly dispose of them...

Domination is an underrated album because of the clean production and the major label connection but the songs on it are great.

I saw them in 2019 and they played Rapture, Abominations, and other songs from the Vincent era aswell as the Tucker era. Phenomenal band to see live
