the thing is that good mokoko events are good for the west too. even if it gets in 10 players it's worth it, but the problem is player retention. as soon as someone hits 1620 and has to do advanced honing which they absolutely won't have mats for they're screwed.. they should've nerfed adv honing
This in no way changes anything you said about the support shortage but 3 of my friends and myself all plan to full send female Paladin. so thats 4 more at least lol.i always keep 2 characters pushed and I'm already dropping a dps to prep for her.
That's good. But I think you guys are the minority. Also main or alt? Cause I assume most people will alt who aren't already support mains wanting to switch to cruise control.
im on the same boat, what comes after kazeros.. they have to be already working on LOA 2 for ue5 right? and when is clown coming back and when is kharmine gonna finally reveal what hes planning dude is just everyone helping bad guys then good guys, i havnt paid attention to lore since t3 but theres something there for sure and could be coming with LOA 2.. hopefully..
Yeah, while KR is still getting players. It seems the West has exhausted all ways to bring in new players. LOA2 would just be a good way to really redo and wipe all these systems from the stone ages.
@@Jukwol After Kazeros, another new raid will come. Because with Kazeros, the first part of the story literally ends. However, we are talking about a Lost Ark Korean game with an extremely large player base. It is not possible for them to work on LOA'2 with so many players. Our region is getting new players, but not too many. At least we came across returning or new players.
@@servetsssozdemir Yeah, that's kind of how I ended the video. With how well KR is doing there is no reason to make big changes. We're just kind of stuck in limbo until KR declines and SG decides it's time to pull up.
Introduce problem > People bitch and moan > When the masses are done introduce band aid. The lost ark playerbase is too easy to impress and this is why smilegate keeps on getting away with it for all these years. Come on people have said 1 chaos dungeon a day, smilegate purposely went out their way to add 40% duration to their 1 a day on a dead system. Are we being fr?
Yeah, it's pretty insane. It would be interesting to be keeping a watch on Inven on how people talk about KR. My assumption is overall their community has a very different perspective and outlook of the game. P2W being normalized there being a factor. But also KR by design suffers from less FOMO because they're not on an accelerated content release schedule to keep up with anyone. So since they always have more months before the next big content gap, they have that much more time to do things rested or less etc. But now we're kind of near the ideal point where our content should consistently just be 1-2 months behind and just keep a static pace behind so we have the same gaps. The downside is that accelerated pace already got a ton of people to quit and it doesn't look like they're coming back. Feelsbad.
I mean, you got one announced. Overall they didn't address balance and class change stuff besides model stuff for anyone. I think their intentions are to keep all that stuff in their other live streams they plan to do. iirc I read somewhere they planned on doing a few between LOAONs? But I don't remember where I saw that.
8/10 for me, I wish they tweaked AH a little and gave us the AP Update on the 18th, but outside of that i’m very happy with what we got (considering this is SG we’re talking about it)
I think they're getting better with how they're handing things. I think to expect something like a 9 or 10/10 would actually be insane given their track record that's for sure.
I don’t judge anyone for thinking ill of them or not being excited, I get it, absolutely. But for me and where I am in the game, i’m very satisfied with this LOAON. I also wanna add that they have not addressed tripods, that’s also a pretty big minus for me. That and no AH change is like my biggest take away from this event. Outside of that we have a lot of good stuff coming, and quality QoL changes.
I like to play with friends, but i feel stressed becasue i'm not good at the control of top down and would int my team often making fights like clown un bearable for my friends So i'm glad that they won't feel need to carry me and that I can learn some mechanics on my own in the solo
LOA was my first isometric game and I still play it wrong to most people, as I tend to hold click instead of rapid fire tapping everything. Playing this this has lead to many deaths. And yeah, I ideally would hope that maybe normal mode in general or a new difficulty added will be standardized like how they intend for strike normal for people to not worry about things as much.
Idk what I would do if I was Smilegate at this point for the West. People are in a constant cycle of bitching about everything. Like, damn, I'm all for keeping companies accountable and making the game better, but does nothing make the Western community happy? We want power systems, they give them-it's too hard, fix it. They fix it-it's still too hard, fix it some more. They fix it again-no, it's still too hard, fix it again. We want free stuff, get free stuff-we want more free stuff. Get more free stuff-we want the thing you gave us last time; it was better than this time. All while still playing every day, bitching in Discord calls and chat sections. Like, I get it-some things are just a factual L. But come on, man, can we at least acknowledge a damn good thing every now and then and stop being so negative? I'm so tired of all the bitching. I've even pulled back from being in some Discord communities. Like, bro, you have been bitching about the game for the last three hours, but at 5 AM reset, you're the first one on, the last one off, and have a full roster of 1680s. My God, STFU. Then there's the whole raid and new player thing. We have half the community complaining about raid difficulty being too hard, and the other half saying the opposite. And excuse me if I'm wrong here, but those saying it's not too hard are usually among the frontliners who clear it in week one with 3-6 characters, have the title by week two, and then drop the infamous "10 clear title required" by week three. Didn't you already get to experience it? Why are you so against it being easier for those who can't clear it? Of course, it should definitely be a learning process and take time through trial and error, but let's be real-the average Joe doesn't have enough time to be progging Thaemine all week for 4+ hours a day. Not to mention the gatekeeping that happens during reclears because the raid is so difficult. And finally, this is just something I think we have to accept at this point: people in the West don't usually gravitate toward games like Lost Ark. It takes time to play. It takes time to learn. It takes time and effort to play something different. If you want to switch classes or, by some miracle, make it to endgame, you spend so much time in the "lobby simulator" that you could have just gone and watched a movie. The game mostly caters to the raiding experience. And whenever a new system not involving raids-like the music thing or a sandbox feature like the Stronghold-is introduced, no one cares or complains about it. What casual gamer would prefer that experience over just doing what a lot of Western players do: playing the "game of the month"? Like, this month Elden Ring, next month Wukong, the month after Astro Bot, God of War, etc., etc.
I think a part of the problem is that the West has a completely different view and experience of the game from KR, but most changes are made for KR first. As for the them 'fixing' things, I think it's more of an issue that their 'fix' isn't usually enough for people. This is why we've seen 4-5 Elixir nerfs. Issues that the West was already echoing about Elixirs from long ago that KR started to feel as well, while they get the content faster, we're only hardcore sweatlords here really. So we come to the 'problem' point later. But I do agree that a lot of things with it is quite self inflicted, as people go very insane on their rosters to be "optimal" or "efficient" which pushing multiple characters to hard mode of the latest content is neither and more so a gambling addiction or just overall have nothing better to do with their free time (respectively). Raid difficulty is weird because peoples opinion changes imo. As the people who want it hard out the gate eventually burn out doing it 6x a week and eventually want it easy for homework. I personally do hope that Strike raid does well and incentivizes Smilegate to create a new standard for how they do difficulties in raids. Gatekeeping and lobby simulator however, would not exist if the game was fundamentally different. At the end of the day these all exist because people feel that need to gatekeep or simply the support classes aren't enjoyable enough to have the proper ratio of DPS to support. It's hard to make a good healer/support though imo, as pretty much any game with role queue, healer is usually caught lacking. A lot of these come from just pure design. Yes, people complain a lot but when there is smoke there is fire. So I think it is good for people to talk about what they dislike. But as previously mentioned, there are people who kind of do some of this to themselves. I still stand by that this game should have had roster at 3 cap to help save people from themselves.
Half-solutions late by years, done only to systems that already most are done with. We don't need more support rat alts, we need the game to be playable without supports at. Every time i try to return we can never fill supports, even via discord. Meanwhile i have no problem finding 7dps. Supports must be made *OPTIONAL*, otherwise it will never get these solo mode players to stick around. This loa Its not enough for a new player to be sold on the game (aa bots and other stuff is still a problem), and it's not very relevant for veterans as theyre already done with elixirs trans and are already doing 1x chaos. The biggest selling point for them, when it comes to me, was me going through poe2. It made me want to try lost ark more than anything they did at loaon. The problem is that me missing ignite and the changes announced will take months, such as solo thaemine. By then I probably wont care anymore again.
Yeah, the issue is they pretty much need to redesign the game for the game to run supportless. They bring absolutely so much to the table that another DPS can't fix. And due to fight length varying to extremely long, there is a lot of variables to consider. If it was a passive healing, or adding more pots. But also just buffing the party equal to having a support since their buffs are huge. And then after all of that make sure its on par with a support existing. It would be interesting if they could design new classes to be hybrid, but also convert some older ones to hybrids too. Like have 1 support or two hybrids. (Also would result in a lot of balance issues) I think a hybrid design would convince DPS only andys to give it a shot after suffering for long enough in PF. Another interesting concept would be making a single support cover the entire 8 man raid. But yeah, another can or worms lol. The only real fix is making support actually desirable to play, as I really only know one person who is fine support 90% of the time and all their existence is being angry about the state of support, peoples performance on meter, and hating paladins as a bard player. Me POE2 video is next. But yeah, post static being deleted, the idea of playing more supports for purely convenience sounds appealing.
@Jukwol I think most people just don't like playing support, and so trying to get 25% of them to do so will always lead to lack of supports. It would be a lot easier to just redo the entire game than convince people to play supports. But I don't think you need to redo it. There are simple ways to make all DPS parties viable, they don't (and probably shouldn't) have to be as good as support parties though. For example: why can't we just ressurect someone in the normal difficulty raids? Would it really be that bad to be more lenient on the easiest difficulty raid to do so? Or why can't we have tripods that give us sustain (something like HP leech or shields or anything) at the cost of damage - this would mean we would take longer to finish the raid (so support still is useful), but would allow us to play rather than wait for hours with 'lf support we have cookies'. Or just give us option to choose some sort of Procyon buff where it helps us at the cost of lower rewards. There's just nothing worse than wanting to play the game and not being able to, because of some arbitrary requirement like you need a specific (rare) class. And then wasting time (literally) waiting in the lobby. We just wanna play the game. Solo mode can only help so much, it's nice way to get you familiar with the raid and get you ready for group play, but after doing it a few times I'm kinda ready to go and play groups. The solo mode is just not as engaging and fun as the real thing, and frankly - very lonely. The main reason why I like lost ark over Poe is that it's a group raid game, in Poe it feels very lonely 🥺. But yeah if I can't play the raids (which happens every time I try to return) then it's fundamentally broken. And no amount of adding more raids, easier honing etc will fix it
the thing is that good mokoko events are good for the west too. even if it gets in 10 players it's worth it, but the problem is player retention. as soon as someone hits 1620 and has to do advanced honing which they absolutely won't have mats for they're screwed.. they should've nerfed adv honing

There will be no one to support until next summer.
