If Dokutaro has wish granting powers, I feel like it would be kinda like a monkeys paw situation. You get your wish granted but it will also poision your mind and enable toxic behavior. That could then loop back around to Kieran and his villain arc, wishing to be like the player but losing himself in his jelousy.
It will probably give Jirachi A run for his money of making wishes
A couple more points:
Evidence suggests that the professors were originally sane people, but became cold and mad the longer they stayed to research the crystals.
Geeta, the lady with a Glimmora, just seems off. I don't know how else to put it, but something isn't right with that woman. They even make it a point to bring up that the gym leaders that work under her really don't like her.

@@browncow5210 Bulbapedia puts Geeta differently than what you describe. She's a nice person, so it's the way and/or styles she runs the Pokemon League that most of the Gym Leaders aren't crazy about. From my point of view, because Geeta works awfully hard owing to being the head of both the Academy and Pokemon League, I think it's nothing short of miracle that she still has that nice demeanor or aura. Whatever meds she might be on, I need some. But if it's just her drinking coffee daily, I'm for that too. Also, based on what Katy had to say, I see that as more of a way of writing in that the open world aspect of Scarlet/Violet was ultimately rushed when added in due to the success of Legends Arceus and GAME FREAK might not have counted on that at all. So I must respectfully disagree with you on Geeta, but you might not be too off regarding Heath. I dunno, maybe he's just huffy because nobody believed what he saw during his expeditions and Briar just wants to prove that what Heath saw was alive as day.
The "monkey paw" thing would only target those with negative emotions and thus the wishes granted to them would have poisoned minds. But I suspect that someone more pure (cough MC cough) would be able to harness the good side. That is, someone who is good and kind and would not necessarily need to have wishes granted for one's self. Those who want wishes granted for selfish reasons will of course become toxic, but those with selfless acts can reach out to ol' Peaches and see what's in its heart.
I wonder if Geeta will pop up in the dlc and speak on when she got her Glimmora, and under what circumstances. I got an off-putting feeling when during the main story, Nemona points out that the Glimmora that attacks us in the Great Crater is a species that Geeta has, and then she alluded to how Geeta might’ve caught one, like if she’d ever been to Area Zero. I know Glimmet can spawn in Paldea as rare encounters, but wouldn’t it make sense for Geeta to have been to Area 0 at least once?

There is one little but dismantling oversight in your theory. Its Pre Evolution is catchable at several Spots throughout Paldea, not even close to Area Zero.

Love this one. The idea of Dokutaro having a similar relationshib to Glimora as Diance has with Carbink is brilliant.
I think that The Loyal Three can still be called that after the myth has been corrected. They're not loyal to Mossui, they're loyal to Dokutaro for granting their wishes and lending them it's power to make them more than what they were. That or they're loyal to it against their will. If you look carefully during the cutscene where they show the bottom half of Dokutaro, when it says the masks attracted more than just innocent curiosity, you'll notice that Dokutaro quickly appears first, apart from the other three. It probably heard stories about the infamous masks, then lent it's power to the loyal three, and tricked them into stealing the masks with the intentions of betraying them afterwards and leaving them for dead. Maybe the poison power tainted them and made them greedy, covetous, power-hungry (like Dokutaro) and easy to manipulate (like a puppet or a "zombie") and Dokutaro used them to do it's dirty work. Maybe the same will happen to Kieran.
In italian it doesnt work as perfectly. They are called "beniamici", literally, "beloved friends". We could say they are dokutaro's beloved friends, but that would contradict their category: "pokemon servi" aka retainer pokemon. In english it works perfectly cause they are dokutaro's loyal retainer.
@marinagaleotti I really just wonder whatever happened to Dokutaro after the loyal three were "killed" by Ogerpon. If it really is a Poison/Ghost type with resurrection power, why didn't it bring them back alot sooner? Maybe certain requirements had to have been met beforehand.

I personally don’t think Kieran is possessed by “Dokutaro” but I do think you’re right on about the area zero and Glimmora connections. I think Kieran’s anger is natural and actually is backed by his sisters similar anger. When they both get angry their eyes change and they lose the shine as well as the yellow eyes looking very Dragon-like. Obviously he’s the catalyst and that aura is undoubtedly related to this Pokémon’s ability. Definitely similar to Tura/Sada and AZ creating Paradox Pokémon. I think the loyal trio lookin so evil yet cartoony is cuz that’s how Kieran feels about them from the stories
8:33 Toxic Chain; an ability granted only to 3 Pokémon, which the pokedex recognizes as “retainers”. The 3 retainers were granted a stronger version of Glimmora’s power from their master…Dokutaro. Sort of a pact, “if you swear loyalty to me as my retainers, I’ll grant your every wish, and unfathomable power”
What being sacrificed to set up Toxic Spikes does to an mf:
Dokutaro could also be the paradox Pokémon version of Glimmora, tying back to the main story of Scarlet and Violet and “The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero” as well as a parallel to Miraidon/Koraidon
Maybe the reality warping power comes from something that’s a part of both the crystals from area zero, and in dokutaro’s poison.

I like the theory Dokutaro is the guardian of Area Zero, because then it could be justified that it’s attempts are actually to preserve the world, keeping Terapagos’ influence insular instead of letting it realize there is more life outside of the crater, because it was created as perhaps even the first true ‘Paradox’ of Terapagos, of Glimmora, because perhaps Terapagos gained a symbiotic relationship with Dokutaro feeding off of it’s Tera energy.
It’s attempts to return the Tera Crystals could be to protect Terapagos’, it’s creator’s, Paradise and any threats to it, after it was granted this ability to stay by the ancient turtle’s side forever. Perhaps it’s simply great full, and honestly believes by recruiting those who wanted their wisdhes fulfilled, as it’s own was perhaps to not die, it felt it gained loyal retainers that could act out for it beyond the limits of the Area Zero crater?
The on thing this would still not explain though, is Paradox Pokémon in general, because I can’t see how it could have granted Heath’s wish, unless somehow it made temporary Pokémon with it’s power that later Terapagos made real through the Professor?
It still wouldn’t explain why Terapagos or anyone, would give Heath a note to pass on tot he future though?
Maybe Terapagos has a similar power as the Fayth from Final Fantasy 10? They can create dream versions of places and people.
Also, because video game's gotta video game, the player will surely have the opportunity to catch both Pokemon and have them accompany them in their travels, yea?
I don't think Kieran fully and truly possessed by Dokutaro, but I don't think his actions aren't being influenced by the pokemon eitger. I think Dokutaro is just naturally amplifying Kierans anger and granting his wish for strength. He's not being controlled or puppeted by this pokemon, but its festering in him like a parasite, granting his wish and feasting on the toxic emotions that Kieran is harbouring so maybe it can take a physical form again or be stronger or maybe even reach a stage of possession. Maybe that punch wasnt him transering his strong spite and anger to the monument to revive the loyal 3, but was instead the chance for Dokutaro to latch onto Kieran so that it could grant a wish to him. The original story was a boy born from a peach yeah? Maybe with how the story is flipped, this story will be a peach reborn from a boy. Or maybe its just my angst loving brain just digging in too deep.
Either way, while I don't truly believe Kieran is possessed, at least not yet, it would be so cool and brutal to have a boss battle, like the titans, team star starmobiles, loyal 3 or Ursaluna battles, against him where we have to fight him, though instead of actually attacking him we have to just hit Dokutaro to detatch it from Kieran.
Btw you forgot that it is more possible that it’s a dead Gilmora because flowers die then bears fruit
The Japanese word 毒 (doku) means "poison" and "Taro" comes from the story of Momotarō, sooo... yep, its a poison type
I just wanted to clarify that nobody even said that dokutaro s eyes are yellow like glimmora s eyes. Dokutaro was coloured because the texture in the game storytelling was black and white ( no pun intended ). Nobody even said that his eyes are yellow. We just know that his body is purple and black
Someone may have mentioned this before, but the pit of a peach is sometimes referred to as a stone, especially in relation to the type of peach it is (whether the pit can be easily removed or is difficult to separate from the flesh.) Just thought that was interesting.

The final post with Kieran mentions your soul being stolen. I think the implication is that Dokutaro grants wishes at the cost of a soul, i.e. enslavement or zombiefication.
Since zombie Duelists in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX were a thing and the Mediums you battled in the original Red/Green/Blue were not battling you out of their free will, I'd say the idea of battling zombie Trainers could easily be a thing.
@@MetalZuko Well I mean look at the AI. Paradise Protection Protocol is very much like that. There’s a theory going around that the Professor isn’t even really dead, but is the AI. I kiiinda doubt that one but it’s interesting to think about the Professor being so taken over that they believe they’re an AI. The emotional lines from the AI at the end of the battle make me wonder…
@@chronic_daydreamer 🤔It's hard to say. Once Indigo Disk comes, it'll be tempting for me to just rush the story to avoid further spoilers online, but one thing I'll find myself doing is catching Pokemon along the way.
I personally don’t like the idea that Kieran is possessed by DokuTaro because it feels like that would invalidate his entire arc.
Me neither. What first crossed my mind was the basic yet always efficient plot archetype where Kieran would still be completely himself, but that dokutaro was feeding on his hatred to progressively regain its lost strenght.

'Dokutaro' merely granted them their powers via Toxic Chain, but what else did this peach really do? You know, besides inspire Bowser for that movie song:

if you noticed when the trio came back and we see that beam it looks like the beams from galar
9:56 there’s also something there with Dokutaro being a fruit, with deadly or forbidden power. Forbidden fruit is a motif in many stories. I mean, take Snow White with the poisonous apple, or…hell, even Judeo-Christianity’s belief in the Bible with the Garden of Eden, and mortals eating god’s forbidden fruit and falling from grace. Dokutaro could’e been a Glimmora that tried to challenge Terapagos for its theorized wish granting ability, obtain a fraction of that power, but then fled Area Zero. Maybe it went berserk and got into the 4th research lab, flying around, spitting up tera crystals from the power it couldn’t handle. Maybe it’s why some crystals began growing over the labs in Area Zero.
How it might’ve ended up in Kitakami, maybe it crash landed where the Crystal Pool is now. The last of its excess power was drained, and it went into hiding in Kitakami. It later recruited the “Loyal 3” with promises of brains, brawns, and beauty, hoping they’d gather tera energy for it to recover its strength, to have another go with Terapagos. Ogerpon’s Teal Mask needed repairs with Crystal Clusters from the pool, which are basically excess tera energy. It may be fair to assume all 4 masks had this energy, which is why the “Loyal 3” took them, to try and bring them and their remnants of tera energy back to Dokutaro.

Part of the inspiration of Dokutaro could very well be inspired by the forbidden fruit from Abrahamic faith, pokemon has made several references to Hebrew lore before. In the Bible, God warns Adam and Eve to not eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge for if they do, they will surely die. It explains why Dokutaro has the Poison typing, and it's super ironic that a peach pokemon is being associated with a fruit that was the reason why mankind was cursed with mortality.
@@TheCrimsonElite666and assuming Dipplin-a very serpentine Pokémon-evolves in Part 2 into a Poison/Dragon Type, it’s like that same story in reverse. Instead of the serpent (representing satan) tempting humanity for knowledge, it’s the forbidden knowledge creeping its way into the serpent. Dipplin’s also obviously associated with fruit.
@@downbeatdialga1341 That could be the case, especially when they already flipped the story of Momotarō on its head, so Dokutaro may also be playing the role of the serpent. It temps pokemon into "tasting" it's power, using its toxic power to make their desires come true and once it grants their desire, Dokutaro binds them in toxic chains and they are eternally bound to it's service. The Loyal Three are effectively undead bound with a poison that renders them as loyal putrid revenants (zombies) through what was essentially a Faustian pact.
It would be interesting if Dipplin's evolution does become Poison/Dragon, especially knowing that it's one of Kieran's pokemon. Game Freak has gone absolutely crazy with Poison types in the recent two generations after all, but we'll have to wait and see until Indigo Disc comes out.
Maybe that was the Pokemon that attacked Arven and injured Mabosstiff too and would explain why traditional healing items and the Pokemon center didn't work.

If Dokutaro ends up as a poison/ghost type it would be huge since we haven't got a pokémon with that type combo since gen 1. Only the Gastly line has it.

Dokutaro is a Paradox legendary version of Glimmora, like how Koraidon and Miraidon are Paradox legendary versions of Cyclizar.

Hey, don't forget what we got with Calyrex. Either it's not wise to underestimate this... peach thing, or perhaps it's actually a Mythical Pokemon that's unobtainable in the story mode.
One thint I do find odd is that glimmets can be found in the wild outside of area zero (i dont remember the exact location but it's in a cave like area)
There are a few places, not just one. I assume they're in locations wherever I've seen their mass outbreaks located.

Hmm, I just had a thought/theory. Imagine if that 'plushie' thing we see at Peachies is actually a Pokemon and literally the secret fourth member of the Loyal Three, Dokutaro itself, just sleeping there hidden in plain sight...? Also, something else occurred to me when Kieran says, "Why can't I beat you!" maybe it's not actually Kieran talking, but it's really Dokutaro who's saying this through Kieran via mind control or something, somehow..?
Please, I don't want comparisons to the Green Lantern Animated Series incarnation of Ragnar.
Maybe this new Pokemon is related to Glimmora in the same way that Diancie was related to Carbink in Gen 6?

Hmm Geeta has a compass in her hand it is directional, if you look up Kitakami it means north up and Google kita will give you north and a red compass I'm guessing there is four areas. I believe Geeta in the enbodys Glimmora I mean they feed on these crystals there's going to defetaly be a story about Glimmora.
I have a thought. what if this peach pokemon wants to corrupt Ogrepon and in turn gives Ogrepon a new form or new mask that will change it to a poison type?
I've always thought herba mystica was meant by wonderous fruits, i mean it even healed Mabosstiff from being blind, mute, unable to walk and gave it a power boost after eating a little bit of each one. If that isn't wonderous I don't know what is. I thought they were just being incorrectly called fruits by the expedition like the so called "precious stones" that are crystals. But yeah, your thesis makes more sense.

This was what I was thinking too. And it's also something we haven't gotten in S/V yet despite having it's counterpart already. It would make a whole lot of sense if it's some kind of paradox Reuniclus. Something like the blood moon ursaluna is. It would fit really well. The chains would just be parts of its body it removed to control the loyal three like some kinda messed up hive mind.
Let's roll with the theory that this new thing is the fruit to Glimmora's flower. What is the purpose of fruits? To be carried elsewhere and deposited to create a new plant. If Area Zero is the source of all crystal, what if Glimmora are its method of spreading to far away lands, and Dokutaro is one that matured and succeeded in Kitakami?
Side theory, but what if the toxic trio weren't resurrected Ho-oh style? What if these are just cartoonish imitations created by the crystals, a la paradox Pokemon? After all, the locals aren't old enough to know exactly what they looked like, and their graves are pretty nondescript.

I think honestly Momo will evolve from the Peach or have a separate form to be more fitting for the main villain because it’s hard to take this peach seriously when he’s just a floating peech lol I don’t agree with the whole possession thing I feel like he’ll have more of an influence on Carmines brother to be evil.
This peach Pokemon may just be a single with no evolutions, just the equivalent to Carbink and Diancie. The current leak(s) states that eight new Pokemon will be in Indigo Disk and the leak that said seven would be in Teal Mask was correct (Dipplin, Poltchageist, Sinistcha, Okidogi, Munkidori, Fezandipiti, and Ogerpon). If we assume eight as the leak says, they'd be as follows - Archaludon, Dipplin's rumored evolution, Raging Bolt, Iron Crown, Paradox Entei, Paradox Terrakion, James and the Giant Peach, and Terapagos.

Dokutoro could be neutral in all this and like it's believed to could grant wishes. But it's possible the "loyal" 3's wishes were made with selfish intent causing the wishes to be granted but causing them to be corrupted by their wishes which is why they became poison chains.
what if Dokutaro is a Paradox form of Glimmora?
The stranger that came to ancient Kitakami with Ogrepon could have brought with it this Dokutaro from Paldea, more specifically, this Dokutaro could have originated from Area Zero. Perhaps a Glimmora mutated from the impact of whatever fell there? Remember, Ogrepon had crystals from Area Zero in its masks, which seem to be the same crystals in the Crystal Pool. It seems there is some strange connection between the Kitakami legendaries and Terrastalization.
I remember one theory about a glimmorra sucking on a Tera crystal wayyy back 😢

There was a rumor about a new type. What if the original Loyal Trio had this new typing, and this Dokutaro Pokemon changed it to Poison upon corrupting them, meaning that they will get alternate forms that will change their Poison typing into this new typing.

ok well its mostlikely possibly its supposed to tie in to the momotaro story this dokutaro could also be more related to the folklore of the next half of the dlc of urashima taro while im most likely wrong i would certainly like if it was a more direct mashup of the two where doku taro was a sort of some how fishing based pokemon yet still related to the loyal three since in urashima taro he was given eternal youth as long as he didnt open the box that contained his old age but since so much time had gone by no one knew him and everyone he knew was gone i think it would be intresting if the loyal three had something similar for example if doku taro gave them brain brawn and beauty but should they go aginst him they would lose it and become worse then before and dokutaro is trying to gather the crystals for something? this is all a huge stretch but i think it would be cool if they made it so the two storys were intertwined like this or something

Plot twist this dokutaro is just a regular pokemon we can encounter in the wild during the final section of area zero in the dlc
Edit: I'd also like to add that some datamines have revealed that dokutaro is not connected to the main story, but a side quest, in part 2.
So basically this theory Is already scrapped because "Pecharunt" is actually the master of the loyal 3 but he has nothing tò do with area zero and he is Just a mochi doll that possesses ppl for fun

My story is hint to Georgia as the next region the state of georgia is probably going to be Gen 10 based region because dokutaro is a peach and Georgia is known as the peach state so were going to georgia in gen 10 and possibly florida or south carolina

I'm pretty sure Keiran is the boy in the story, the peach/plum legendary not being mentioned likely just means it was the reason the mons did became what they did and was manipulating them to a degree. But keiran is definitely momotaro

@@MetalZuko well, this is a current event and not a story, there's going to both be differences and nuance to character dynamic's. Besides, it seems like he'll be standing against the mc and Ogerpon in the next dlc installment. I surmise he'll have some influence over or allyship with the Bully 3, and even if not, he'll still be against the mc and Ogerpon for one reason or another, be it hostile or due to a rivalry.

I def believe that Dokutaro can grant wishes and to once granted, lays toxic chains on the victims body as a way of "chaining its victims to loyalty". Forcing the loyal three and kerian to do its bidding. They stole the masks because dokutaro wanted those crystals back.

Why is barely anyone bringing up the fact that Dokutaro is shaped like a pig’s head? Like, it’s obviously based on a peach, Momotaro and a pig. And the poison typing comes from the peaches, since the pit has cyanide.
Bc tbh the peach inspiration is probably way more what Game Freak was intending for this Pokemon than the pig head.

To me, it looks like a radiation symbol. Game Freak has recently associated the Poison typing with radiation, with Eternatus being an allegory for nuclear power, and there's an argument to be made that Iron Moth is possibly powered by a nuclear reactor which explains why it has the Poison typing.

We already broke professor Turo/Sada time machine so why new paradox pokemon like iron leaves walking wake iron crown and raging bolt can appear in the dlc.The crystals can make time machine so i think Brier did it because she literally appeared in the crystal pool.
