@@samright4661 Yeah. No disrespect to italy, but I must agree with @josh-xu1kr here. Most of Italy's cities are overrated. The average german city is nicer. Look at Frankfurt, look it Cologne. And I like Italy. My favourite Italian city would be Turin. But generally, German cities for example are more unique in my opinion.
This is an invaluable service you have provided. I have been to Florence twice and have seen some of the places included in your tour, but your added information made it so interesting. It's also nice to not have to endure the crowds and heat that you did. Thank you so very much!
17:45 the sound of Giotto's Belltower is just magical. When I first arrived in Florence I walked up a hill behind my hotel and was delighted to get a relatively good view of the city. The Duomo was probably at least 3 kilometers away, but at that moment the bell rang and even on that hill it was so loud as with other churches when you stand only a street or so away.
Just booked an AirBnB at Santa Maria Novella for next October. Had no clue we were so close to Il Duomo and Mercato Centrale until I saw this video! Thank you! I'm so excited. And you went right past my apartment.
Amazing endless video, it seams like it. We are visiting Florence this August, my family and I can’t wait. Your video is awesome and has educated us a lot. We are ready, can’t wait. Thanks for your hard work!
Good comment about showing up early for the Uffizi. We were there when the doors opened and walked right in. Plus, I have one of my best photos looking down the length of the Lungarno degli Acciaiuoli (3:39) without a single person in the the entire colonnade. Just my family at the very end. Hard to imagine with the crowds that are there just a little later in the day.
Conocí esta ciudad en 2017 y quedé fascinado. Qué bueno ver que has subido un video tan largo de este paraíso!!! Ya mismo me pongo a verlo, pero conociendo tu trabajo, descarto que este también debe ser excelente, como siempre.
You can see the city easily in a day...but visiting all the museums, churches and other places which require tickets and long lines to get in, make it a three day visit.
Thank you for that wonderful traveling from the confort of my living room. I spent 1 single day in that town when I was a student in the 80s so did not see much. One thing strike me : too much of noisy motocycles everywhere all the time ! Now from videos I would say too much vans lol ! From Quebec.
Just returned from this lovely city and some of the smaller cities nearby: Fiesole, Arezzo, Siena, Scandicci. All beautiful in their own way. Thank you for an in depth tour with interesting anecdotes

Firenze is the most beautiful city I have ever visited. Of course Roma has a lot more to see, and an increible history, but in terms of beauty, Firenze is my chosen one!
very good at showing us the city. Are there typically so few people about? Similar videos of Rome show people 3, 5, 8 people deep around the monuments and so crowded that I'm not sure how much time I want to spend there!😁
Hey, just about every time I've been to Florence or Rome it has been like this. If you go out early in the morning though, you can see all the monuments with almost no people .....go to Naples instead. :)
El video está muy bueno como siempre. Quería saber si el recorrido que hiciste lo podría hacer todo en 1 día? Y también quería saber en donde compras los ticket para entrar por ejemplo al baptistero de st john y la cripta de la iglesia del domo. Muchas gracias Saludos

Please include the year this was taken in your opening graphic with the temperature. “May 19th” always makes me have to go back and double check what year this was taken, which is very important considering the changes bright about by covid recently.
We took the train from Rome to Florence on May 19 and it was rainy, cool and cloudy most of the day. Are you sure about the dates? It was definitely NOT 88 Fahrenheit
There is a very small shop near the Arno River and Ponte Vecchio (side street) owned and run by an older man who sells mortar and pestles, wine, and miscellany. The front of his shop is kind of a jumbled mess. His shop was there in 2014 and 2016 for sure and had been there for many years before that. He offers small glasses of wine when you come in, and there's really only room for 1-2 customers at a time. I'm curious if he and his shop made it through the pandemic?? (I hope. I've worried about him.)
I knew someone would ask. :) I am exporting it right now..but I had to have the captions 100% finished at the time of posting. The video will be up today.
I was not able to use a fixed shutter speed with this camera so I had to use 50fps to avoid all the flickering lights. I was using an older camera on this walk.
I feel like Florence lacks at least one major thing - trees & greenery! NYC is considered a concrete jungle, but still has some trees along the streets - I think Florence is more suitable to be called a concrete jungle (even though I don't like NYC). I think London might be the best for tree canopy. I can't imagine walking in Florence at 35 C without trees - the streets are small, and it's hard to put trees there - I understand, but where it's spacious, they could at least plant something. Trees give so many opportunities I don't even want to mention, since everybody knows them. Florence is beautiful but planned poorly, probably because it's an old city. Sry for roasting, I'm an urban planner
Well, yes, Milan is not he best either, but since it's bigger, I feel like at least some wide streets have trees. Florence is smaller, but it's easier to get to the suburban areas for some nature. But it's you opinion and I respect it & agree with it. Btw, I forgot to mention your videos are great! Keep going! I can't imagine how many steps you take for these vids lol@@ProWalks
The buildings are so close that there's plenty of shade in the narrow streets. A lot of the churches have cloisters with gardens. A lot of the old palaces are built around a quadrangle and have gardens at their centres. You can walk across the city from olive groves in the north (on the way to Fiesole) to olive groves in the south (towards Bellosguado) in about 45 minutes . This is a video that goes round and round the medieval centre ONLY. It gives no impression of green spaces because that's not why people want to go to Florence. Nobody would have been interested in your version of 'urban planning' in the 13th century. Towns were compact for defensive reasons. Watch the ProWalks Siena tour and you will see how the countryside flows right up to the city walls everywhere you look. The reason why Italy is so beautiful is that urban planners have not been allowed to tear it down.
