    Great ! I like it. I would use pallets for the sides just for the extra ventilation. I followed your plan and used cinder blocks as a base to allow for more underneath ventilation.

    Hey Red, I'm trying to post a pic, but I've built 21 of these now, and have them loaded and ready to go, and more to go, thanks again for posting this great idea.

    Good Idea. I also built some Pallet-based sheds in a similar style, but i also built smaller, collapsable Palett wood boxes because I don't have a heavy forklift.

    Definitely practical from my point of view! Michigander here.

    I've been thinking about making a "wood shed" that was cheap and portable (or dismantleable) so I could hide them out back in the summer and avoid getting taxed on a permanent structure. Great idea - thanks for the inspiration!

    Yes those are great and if you can get some reclaimed block or bricks to put under the corners an get the pallets off the ground you'll get quite a few years out of them.

    Very nice idea, like how you can move them around.

    I like this idea. I've been looking out for some of the industrial wire baskets that could be stacked 3 high and make 1 removable roof for each stack of 3. I have forks for the front end loader and it would all be just in range of capacity.

      +WSMC Mc yeah that would work great, my tractor wouldnt have the power for that. The cages would last forever

    not a bad idea if you have the tractor with the forks to move them around, would save building the much larger wood shed structure close to the house ( like I had to). When its empty, just cart it out back and haul up another one. Having the tractor is the big stumbling block tho...lol

    Why didn't you use pallets the way they come for the sides and roof?

    • @REDNIC79
      @REDNIC79  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Love2boat92 yeah I could, I just wanted a sloped roof, and pallets are 40x48, so it works out funny

    • @Lanninglongarmmowing
      @Lanninglongarmmowing 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      REDNIC79 Yeah I guess you could add a board to the one side to make it slope.

    Nice idea, but I think I'd make the sides temporary, so that I could as much ventilation as possible when drying and snap 'em on when it's dry and winter is coming. Maybe even make out of some pieces of vinyl siding or such. I just landed here because at 65 years old, I'm a little tired of the multiple moving of firewood to racks and shed. A few of these might be in order around here.

      yeah i think the sheds with pallets on the sides dry better.....moving wood more than once sucks! thanks for watching my video!

      If its close to 4x4 and stacked 4 feet high then 2 of them would pretty much be a full cord minus some pieces. Cord is 4x4x8 stacked 4 feet high.
