Don't know if you have a way to output from the RGB connector, but here in the UK, I have one of these ZX+2's, and use the RGB out to Scart connector. The picture is as good as you'll get on a computer system without any digital HDMI output... It's gorgeous and clean, and sharp. Here in the UK you can get an RGB/Scart cable that also includes a loop-around from the audio out, that feeds it into the Scart hook-up also so that audio and video are amazing from this machine! Hard to imagine it's from a 35 year old piece of equipment! It looks totally 'Spectrum', but sounds almost 16-bit with it's use of FM synthesis on this series of Spectrum. You have to use the RGB and Audio-Out to get the full effect though - Composite will never do it properly! IF you live in the UK/ Europe..... ;-)
I can use computers (who can't these days) but when it comes to repairs/maintenance I'm completely useless, but still really enjoyed this, I had a 48k and this one when I was a kid, before moving onto Amigas,
I got mine last week with no cables and got the cables this morning. Can´t wait to get it working. It's been over 30 years!!
I've recently discovered this channel and I love it.
That exact model was my first computer. I miss it 😟
Thank you for finding my wee little channel. Good to have you aboard.

I'm here because today in 2021 I purchased one from ebay for £45, hasn't arrived yet.
Yes I had one in my childhood (after the rubber key).

Nice, I must admit I like restoring these old machines too. It gives you a buzz seeing them up and running once again 🤩🤩🤩 Kim 🤩🤩 🤩
Glad to have come across your channel Mr Lurch! Really enjoying your videos.
6:34 a vintage computer youtuber who looks like they've done actual real-world wiring before? holy moly!
Hah! I'm *purely* self-taught, so that would be purely coincidental/luck that I'm doing it right/ok :D
Ah the memories
We have one in the office, no output to a tv with scanning the frequencies. No idea how to start a repair....
Hello Mr Lurch
Did you fix the PSU? There are no videos about the grey PSU...
Hold break or space when pressing reset you get colour bars and a tone. (If I remember rightly)
I have a +2A and I'm surprised how different it is!
Impressive work! Different kind of video for you (unboxing) but it works.
That's not a knife :-D
i have the original and the plus 2 in my attic
Came here to all where the hell you found a spectrum in Australia. My question was answered immediately
They pop up, but only occasionally. Ian Marvic had a few rubber key 48k's recently.
