I was debating between this reel and the Daiwa BG both in 2500. Went with the Battle 2...got it for $57 shipped to my house. Pairing it with a medium fast 7’1” St. Croix Mojo Bass rod.

Great review Brother. I don't own any new equipment, but what I do have and use weekly is PENN. They have been very reliable. Everyone has their favorite. I just want to "Rip some Lips" Keep up the good work. Much Love from Mississippi...
I live in Arizona and only make it to Texas coast about 3 times a year (my loss). I bought 2 Penn Battle II (300) paired up with a 7 ft medium/fast rod, paid $160 for the both. Now I do not fish often, living in Arizona, however I love this outfit! Caught many trout last time out, June of this summer, and hope to repeat when I make my next trip in a couple of weeks. By the way, great channel.
Digging the jetty fishing, nice to switch things up every now & then.
Been fishing penn battles for years. Great reel. Amazon puts them on sale for $45 every once in a while.
Just ran across your channel a few days ago like it! I have to surf rods I use if surf casting. They are Penn Fierrce 6000 reels, I have to say I truly like them. For the price you can't beat them. Going to sit back and watch some of your videos!

Try the dawia BG 2500 it’s lighter and you will love it ! Switching all my pen battles out for Daiwa BG

Have a the bg 2500 and the 3000 backbay. Both awesome reels. Definitely a big gap in price points. For the best bang for your buck, u can't go wrong with the bg.
I recently bought the Penn 3000 combo and penn 5000 combo at academy, compared to my older penns these are just awesome, very smoother and easy to fish...
Hey bud Spinfishers are super cheap on amazon right now. The redesign is about to come so Amazon has the “old” Spinfisher really cheap. I’ve owned Penn reels and rods for several years never had an issue with them, I fish up to five times a month.
I have a Penn Battle II 8000. Good reel. The only gripe I have about it is the way it lays line down in the spool. Not very flat.
I buy them because they last year after year with little to no extra care and no tears about how much it weighs. Love your videos though
One of the best spinning reels you'll ever use. Great price. Try the 2500 osprey by Florida fishing tackle. I guarantee you will love it bro. Keep up the good work and hope to bump into you out here someday.
I caught 4 bass with my battle 2. It experienced a little freshwater in the footwell of my kayak that day and it never ran the same, slightly locked up. Shimano/daiwa or bust.
I've found that it does not have enough power to stop a fish. I seen many fish running with yours as well. I lost a huge one...fought for an hour plus before it got away. That is my negative. That was my first and only time using it before getting rid of it. Now I'm contemplating getting another or the 4000 series. Looking for others reviews and opinions first.

I have used "Penn Reels" from 1982. I have 8 and love em all . From my 320SS, /3200SSVI- 8500SSV, they are the best for the money. I'm going to buy a Battle II 1000, /2000 series just for a nother ultra light reel. The Penn Spinfisher in 4300 size may be better for ya. Tom Daytona Beach, FL.

Hi dear. I have bought two Penn Battle 2 6000s but to my surprise both have sort of crack at the top end of the bail arm. Can someone please confirm do all reels come like this or are mine damaged ? Thanks.

Penn makes a great product.Just check the way the handle is designed versus others.Check how it is held into the frame.

I've heard good and bad about it. The only PENN I have is the warfare. Good feed back though. Still out of my price range right now.. lol.. Good luck

I don’t have Penn reels. I use Shimano reels. I spent $112 for this battle II.

you can pick a 4000 up on amazon for 86 bucks and a 3000 for 70 bucks
I’m happy with it, heavy? I’m a grown man, I can hardly feel it in my hand, reel weight doesn’t mean anything to me, I’m not even sure why that’s a thing... I just want smooth and reliable...
I recently bought a penn battle II 4000 combo. what do u think of the penn rods?
The rods that come with em are cheap. I got the 8000 the reel is 118 and together with the rod its 135.
That Cabelas store on 45 is super pricey. Every size on amazon is under $100.
Retail stores are always higher in price.
All of them are over 100 on Amazon. I just got the 4000 and 8000 109 and 119..

I have this real and it’s the worst real I’ve ever used in my entire life. Not sure if I got a defective one from China or what. It’s toast halfway through the season completely toast. Gears busted and all. Took it apart after a month and it was completely fried. I took great care of it. I would be careful with these new pens I think it’s a hit or miss type deal. Normally I would give this reel 2 stars and that is being very very generous. I see people all over the Internet ranting and raving about this terrible reel so maybe I’m crazy. It’s not even slightly watertight. If you drop in the ocean once it is instantly dead, like straight instant death. Good luck. Very non durable reel.
Just gonna add there is a reason why these things are so “affordable” now...they don’t last!
Daiwa BG is a much better reel.

10k + individuals think his videos are fine the way they are. I don’t see how talking at the start with a fade in, music in the video, or other so called “interruptions” would cause you to get annoyed at his “product”. It’s his own art work. Bro, relax. It’s not easy producing fishing videos.
