MATERIALS/SUPPLIES ;
Doll is hand painted.
Base doll : Clawdeen Wolf (Monster High) Generation 3
Hair : Nylon from shimmerlocks.com (details farther down)
Sealant : Mr Super Clear UV Cut Flat
Pastels : Gallery by Mungyo Artists' Soft Pastels, pastel pencil by Derwent
Watercolor pencils : Arteza, Faber Castell Albretch Durer
Watercolours/gouache paints : Arteza, Magicfly
Acrylic paints : DecoArt, Delta CeramCoat and Liquitex
Gloss varnish : Liquitex High Gloss Varnish
Matte varnish/Glue : Mod Podge Matte
Mica powders : Magicfly
Hair details ::
Brown : Rich Truffle Nylon, 1 oz (or medium hank). I used about half.
Blonde : Champagne Nylon, 1oz (or medium hank). I used almost all.
Purple : Sugar Plum Nylon, 0.5 oz (or small hank). I used about half.
My reroot is a little on the thick side however. You might need a little less.

I used regular PVA glue to glue the rerooted hair from the inside. But I did so AFTER the boil wash. This glue is water based, it would have washed off. The glue that is usually recommended is Fabritac, for both strenght and the fact that it is water resistant.

Thank you for showing your mistakes and decision changes and how you worked through it all, and not glossing over the difficult parts. It’s a great reminder that creative projects aren’t a linear path and can be super frustrating, even when you’re an expert. And the end result is gorgeous.
I don't see myself as an expert at all, though I am glad you enjoyed the mess. I'm very chaotic in my process and I don't always show it, but maybe I should. :)

I have no idea why that G3 Clawdeen has that silly topknot. The slumber party one does not have it. I bought one of each with the idea of turning one into my dearly departed cat and keeping one pristine but for now they are still in their boxes. Knowing the heads are more difficult to remove makes me think I may need to find a preloved Clawdeen to turn into my Tiger instead.
Anyway, I enjoyed listening to you talk during your video! You sounded more relaxed, which I hope was the case. I know you have mentioned being under a lot of stress in general so I hope you are doing better now.

I absolutely adore her. I’m also really happy to see your mistakes and struggle. It’s always good to see how others go about their art work. I always loved clawdeen but g3 clawdeen wasn’t my favorite bit I love how you customized her face because now I like her more. 😊

See I absolutely love this repaint. If this clawdeen was in stores I'd buy her in a heartbeat. You gave her back the sassy glam style she originally had. It most have been hard to show your mistakes but thank you for that. Cause that shows anyone who does a repaint that it doesn't come naturally and to take it slow and not to threat from having to start over. Are you planning on doing some of the other characters from Gen 3? Not gonna lie I'd love to see your take on Abbey
To be honest I don't show it, but half of the time, I redo my faceups. I need to put a bit more thoughts into what I want, or else, when I get an idea together, I've already did things that don't work too well with my vision. I don't usually mind redoing things, and it's good practice, but it takes time to do it and it can be frustrating. Wasting sealant too, is a thing.
I actually have two other G3 dolls : Frankie and Toralei. I'd love Cleo and maybe Lagoona but they are very expensive. I was lucky, I got Toralei from a friend that is in the US, because... aside from the main girls, none are sold in Canada. I would have gotten more but my budget is sadly a little tight.
I was thinking maybe doing Frankie next, unsure for Toralei.
Abbey is a lovely doll, I only ever repainted one (but it was a G1). She has an amazing sculpt
@@StarlightDreamDolls now see the store near my house has plenty of Cleo. I'll have to snatch one and send it to you cause more than likely I'll be at that store again before next Wednesday. I like how the new abbey looks but I feel you could give her more frosty ice flare. It's a bummer she doesn't come out for another month though.

She’s gorgeous ,I do prefer the eye make up on the final one,but you do a lot of detail in the iris and you could have done with starting with the eye a bit brighter as the white has taken away most of the colour,which is a shame.The y we’re beautifully done.Just remember that that does happens..But I love what you Sid to her.And her hair too 🥰
Not basic white bread!! Lol, for darker skin tones - use more warmer colors or match the doll's undertone so it doesn't look so ashy. Great video!
Yes! I've learned a bit about that about makeup a few years ago, but it's a tad bit harder in practice, or more like, I'd need more practice. I hope I did her justice

Me, I've been doing some free hand sketches of Disney Villains & princess's from combining classic & new one while the other are Gala red carpet fashion gowns
It helped me with a lot of stress relief and now that it's mermay I can finally resume my Ice Floe Siren doll project, it was hot in Arizona so I had to wait for the weather to cool down for breeze.

During Friday I painted a duplicate miniature portrait of Moana like my swap portrait I made for my art teacher while I have hers. Last weekend I made the Aristocats as a family portrait.
My Disney Portrait's are sure helping me relax little by little, I made a cute miniature portrait of Dumbo (with mouth & eyes with medium small canvas) but I'm putting him on sale, & sadly I can't make another one of him since I used up the last canvas. Actually I do that on a lot of my dolls, especially commissions, but for some reason, I did not do it this time. I guess it's because I know I won't change her clothes xD
