Saw him at Manchester earlier in the week and it sounded absolute pristine . people were crying around me , so maybe the sound outside was not the best who knows but its a great track and he still has a good voice ....

I've been lead vocalist for close to thirty years and I can tell you that we ALL have our bad days when the vocal chords are swollen from over singing, or having a cold, sore throat etc. My biggest gripe in all the years was the freaking numb head musicians could never understand you cannot tune vocal chords, you cannot change vocal chords with new ones in between sets. Musicians always have those few songs which stretch the limits of a singers range and they will bed and bitch for you to sing at shows where the vocals are a wee bit rough, and they even bitch when they wanna play those songs in rehearsals!! Any opportunity to do tornado head hair whip! Damned posers!! LOL!! In any case, he did a great job! Remember the Eagles are a massively harmonizer band and they ain't there! Jack
Brings back memories of a great day out eight months ago. Don Henley was utterly superb - Last Resort, Hotel California, Desperado - songs I've enjoyed for the best part of forty years. To witness them sung live by this wonderful singer was just incredible. And what's more, I went there expecting to see Carole King and some support act I'd never heard of (wife's idea) had only realised DonHenley was going to be there the day before!
It's one of those songs that hits the emotional bullseye for me, I wish to cover it myself but the quantity of bog roll I'll need for the tears is still proving an issue for me. Having to play it all on a guitar is an aside at this point.
