- While attending a program in Ranchi on July 17, Assam CM and BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma raised alarm over 'changing demography' in his state and claimed that the Muslim population has reached 40% in Assam while in 1951 it was 12%. He said, "Changing demography is a big issue for me. In Assam, Muslim population has reached 40% today. In 1951, it was 12%. We have lost many districts. This is not a political issue for me. It is a matter of life and death for me."

Reforms on a war footing within Hinduism is the need of the time to save Hinduism. Make Hinduism more attractive, comfortable and welcoming to all Castes. Remove the main hurdle CASTE varna system. Ban all caste based Surnames, caste based institutions, caste based organisations, and lastly caste based reservation. Make inter caste marriages easy by giving big incentives in jobs, similarly make inter linguistic marriages equally attractive by big incentives because hindus are not only divided by castes also by languages. Main irritant is the caste based Surnames because it sticks out very prominently dividing the Hindus mentally on the spot. Also make it easy Ghar Wapsi. Also open conversion from other religions to Hinduism easy. When Modiji had a big brute majority, this greatest reform would have done wonders for us Hindus. Hinduism will flourish beyond imagination if this one important change is done. China, Buddhists, Islamic countries, Japanese, Koreans do not have hundreds of divisions like Hinduism. That's why China is going Super fast. Even many Islamic countries like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Iran etc are dangerously getting advanced in science and technology very fast despite religious fundamentalism.
This was the only reason why Assamese people engaged in prolonged agitation during late 70s and early 80s. Illegal immigration continued unabated during the regime of the party which Himanta Sharma belonged to. He must blame himself too for this problem. This is the reason why AGP as regional political party emerged, though it has been hijacked now.
Without strict population policy nothing will work to balance reckless growth of some community..

First thing, before implementation of CAA in Assam, why the Himanta Biswa Sarma govt didn't deport the illegal muslim Bangladeshis that were identified during NRC process in Assam ? If you are anti muslim then without deporting the muslim now you are accepting the illegal hindu Bangladeshis staying in Assam till 2014. This way if we leave hindu-muslim issue, the bengali speaking Bangladeshi people in Assam have become majority and very soon a Bangladesh origin person will become a CM of Assam like Tripura. Remember when it comes to political or social issue Bengalis are united by their community like similar mother tongue, literature,etc. for example Bangladesh independence movement. Both hindu and muslim fought with Pakistan for a independent Bangladesh. Politician are only looking for power and money. But nobody is thinking about the indigenous people of Assam.
