I like that you mentioned the safe sleep guidelines. Before my daughter was born I was disgusted by parents that willingly let their babies sleep in a way not consistent with the AAP’s safe sleep guidelines. Then my daughter was born and I realized some moms (like me) don’t choose this and they have to choose between sleep/mental stability and a baby crying/stressed but alone safely in their bassinet 🥴😮💨😮💨 it sucks but I’m glad it gets better! I just bought her an auto rocking bassinet and I’m going to start encouraging her to sleep there. She sucks her fingers also so I’m glad to hear that too!
You have no idea how inspirational this video is because I had no idea how needy a baby could be around sleep- my baby flat out refuses to sleep anywhere except my chest or my husband’s which won’t work for sleep when he goes back to work next month. This gives me hope that I can do this and get enough sleep to prevent postpartum depression/anxiety. Thanks for sharing 😊
When you said "just do what works for you and then when it's no longer working, pivot" I couldn't help but think of Ross from Friends shouting "PIVOT!" 😂 But in all seriousness, thank you for this video. I will be purchasing this book!
I will definitely be getting this book! Sleep training and self soothing are very triggering phrases for me because of so many people telling me to let my 1st baby cry for hours on end. Baby #3 will sleep in his bassinet but nurses to sleep and I would like to stop that.
@rawbeautykristi should totally connect with you about this! I know she's been searching for resources on sleep and better naps and I bet would welcome the support
At what age could I start self soothing my baby? She’s 2 weeks and im a FTM and I usually let her fall asleep on the boob and hold her for 20 ti 30min after she’s done. Then set her in the bassinet
Ask Sarah @helpingbabiessleep !! She is doing a free masterclass right now.. but she has lots of resources too. www.helpingbabiessleepandparenting.com/a/2147500124/KpWuBCDi
