This is the second of three studio vlogs for Whitechapel's new CD that is coming out Spring 2010. In this episode you'll see what gear the band used for getting guitar tones and some clips of the band recording songs.
Unpopular opinion, but this is my favorite Whitechapel record. So good front to back!
This album seriously had some of the best guitar tone I've ever heard.

@DTSbass they explained this like 2 months ago. lol , zach recorded his stuff first, because he was preoccupied with something. so, he's not in the videos because he was done. and i think thats why gabe isn't either.
8-string guitar is so cool! this album will be great :)
It's a bit scattered throughout the album I think, but I know that in "Single File to Dehumanization" and "Breeding Violence" they use the 8-string.

@guitargod909 if you hit the top three strings while playing a riff on the bottom strings it produces a screeching sound. if you want a more dynamic screeching sound you can strike the strings above the guitar nut to produce a really nice screeching sound

I listen to this more than the actual album just because the guitars are so fucking amazing

@XxBrutalBeatdownXx Yeah the low string on the 8 string guitar he shows is in E. I agree that it sounds like mush almost but I think they used it tastefully to the point where it isn't overused and muddy up the entire sound it just creates some incredibly brutal shit.

@guitargod909 I believe he is just up stroking natural harmonics on the 3rd fret, otherwise possibly dead notes.
On the record, it sounds like Speaker Left has a distinctively different tone than on Speaker Right. Perhaps a Peavey on the Left and a Mesa on the Right.

@snazygitrst makes sense to me, The 5150 with a tube screamer is nasty only reason its not more popular is that's the only sound it does well, the clean tone sucks balls. we recorded at a studio that had a bunch of stuff. Marshalls, Mesa, you name it and we used a 5150 with a tube screamer for high gain and a fender powering a marshall cab for clean and low gain. The recto does everything good, its the better all around amp, but in the studio "all around" doesn't matter.

@improfessoradam Ya look at the agile guitars dude. Those 9 strings are insanly think on the necks and the low string I believe is tunned to a C#. 7 strings is good enough for me lol

honestly this was a fucking sick album they took from the previous album and added different ideas and themes this album was amazing no offence but their last album was honestly not heavy enough for me D: and or it in MY OPINION wasnt the whitechapel that i fell in love with D: though remember im not saying its bad i simply dont see it D:
