Here he be Dubert Donkey

This is the first of several little films I made with the donkey character. Lots of afternoons and late nights, but I got the animation bug. It was often painful seeing the wonderful Disney films, both depressing and inspiring because it seemed so beyond me.
I animated this in High School. Dubert, the star, has a tough time of it on stage- he is hit by a cane, which he later trips over, inhales to pump up his chest, mand goes behind the curtain to teach someone a lesson. Returning to the stage, he holds his breathfor some long-forgotten reason, and does dancing and horsing around.
It's all very slow-moving, timing was something I had not learned yet.
