If the ETH network needs Lido to stop growth, does that mean the LDO token value will stagnate? What are the Lido tokenomics how are they effected? It's 20% of Grayscale's DEFG trust.
I think the only solution is going to be something like limiting liquid staking or LSDs. The devs might have to only allow solo stakers with a full 32 ETH. We can't let Lido have that many validators. Over the long-term, Lido might build up a majority of all the ETH, with their grift of keeping all the proposals/sync committees and paying out a lower percent than they're earning.
Could part of the solution be to incentivize solo staking? Instead of burning all ETH or MEV, to take a portion of that and distribute it to solo stakers? Basically bribe them.
The protocol has no way to differentiate between any staker other than size. One staker is one staker. If you introduce size limits or incentives for smaller sized stakers then larger stakers will simply be incentivized to split their stake and stake on two separate addresses/pcs, etc.
Or why can’t they make it much simpler to stake, like on Solana where you can literally just stake from the Phantom wallet. You can delegate with any amount.
@@Schmexy Solana is waaaaaaay harder to stake. What you're referring to is delegating your SOL to a validator. They are staking. You are not. Huge penalty towards decentralization.

Great and then you guys wonder why nobody uses ethereum and defi? Hint, its not because we are afraid lido will take over ethereum...
the threat is not about eth's existence, but about its centralization of eth staking in one single player which goes against the whole premise of crypto

Why can't Ethereum just add an identifier of who is staking, and cap it at a certain point like 32%
Because one can just use multiple addresses and pretend to be many people?
