This is my 4th time watching this today. Im addicted to this video.
this is a true drunk
When i find a dead body while drunk, I also break out into song
*hic*
I can imagine myself conducting this, putting my baton down at the beginning of the interlude, and dancing on the podium as if I'm in a rave
3:11 He screams ‘I need to run to the police!!’ twice
I suppose he runs frantically after he discovers the dead body of Zinovij Borisovich
As written in the memories of Galina Vishnevskaya, Shostakovich used to say:
- He ran to the police - what a scoundrel - rejoicing that he runs with a denunciation... Anthem to snitches... This is the anthem to all the snitches!
Just back for my daily dose of [BAND HERE]
In his music, Shostakovich expressed so called Russian Spirit that has tormented this territory for more than a hundred years. The gallop at the end of this video is a triumphant vulgarity that devoursing Russia also today.
Тебе это шостакович рассказал?😂
Шостакович выразил этим моментом всех доносящих в годы Сталина. А русский дух скоро и до тебя доберется
3:11 I have never seen the opera and I can understand that this is the best part of the opera
Have you seen the video where Shostakovich himself plays exactly this interlude? If not you should definitly check it out its really fascinating.
I think its called: Shostakovich plays Shostakovich: Lady Macbetch Act 3
There are too many awesome parts in the opera, this is just one of them. My favourite scene is the ending of Act 2
Do yourself a favor and watch the opera.
YX!!
This outro goes so hard
2:51 I’m obsessed with these 4 bars
The score to the opera LMofM was slightly revised in the 60s and re-released as "Katerina Izmailova." The Soviet cinematic production of it (1966, can be found on YT) is really great aside from the actress who plays Katerina just mouths the words, even the most intense parts. But this scene and interlude in it is amazing and so fun to watch. Thanks for posting the score!
I just wanted the transcription of this in Russian
Please, could someone pass me the score?
i used the second file, p. 205-217

I'm 15 and god i wish i was born in the 70s
No you don't
What ever reason you have for wanting to be born in the seventies wouldnt exist in the seventies.
Shostakovich died in 75
This opera was written in 1935
If I was born 100 years earlier I would have been the same age as Shostakovich
