I’m a Canadian living in Paris since Feb 2023. Thankfully I am fluent in French, I think it makes such a huge impact on one’s experience. Moving to anywhere without knowing the language is a huge challenge and can be very isolating. Bravo to you both for your courage and effort

This was so real. Especially the fact when Joshua talks about how the reality of marks in India and abroad varies. So honest and hopeful ofcourse with the amount of understanding he pursued it with :)

It's only been a few months. I can relate to a lot of things that you discussed. While, I am getting to know new people and learning French, it also gets difficult to deal with thoughts and emotions. It is challenging and since I asked for it, I should also accept the things that come with the good stuff and learn to deal with it in a healthy manner.

It is my first time studying in Europe, I agree with you guys on the deadline part, I’m part of this exchange program in Rome and Paris, I spent 3 months in Rome and currently I’m living in Paris until the end of the year. I never struggled to make friends anywhere I’m a north India, I have lived in south India even with the language barrier I made a lot of friends. To be honest I made over 50 friends in Rome within the timespan of 2 months, I am already living in Paris for 2 months and I only have 4 friends so far 😅 it’s a bit harder for make friends in Paris.

The day I arrived in Nice.. I just wanted to go back to bangalore.. Then I gave myself a week’s time and said to myself that if it feels the same way after week then just leave. I did not unpack my bags for a week and I started to feel ok eventually. I can totally relate to Joshua when he talks about first year at work and not feeling competent like I used to back in India. Job was not a big struggle for me as I was sure from day 1 that I’m not going to stay back and never really applied for jobs initially. Also I rejected those offers I got as I was afraid staying alone in Paris. Even now I would go back to any place in France but Paris. After a point I felt that, I should give it a try before going back to India at least gain some international working experience while I’m here. Then I started applying for full time jobs outside France .. It took me few months to finally find the right one. But the whole experience of being alone opened many new possibilities in life for me. There was good bad and worst but everything helped attune to myself

Should I target LBS or HEC ? I love HEC for it's course structure, gap year and campus life. But because I want to settle in an English-speaking country should I rather choose LBS ? Is it easy to get placed in an English-speaking country after finishing your MIM at HEC or ESSEC ?

Hi Mayank, I am a classical Indian dancer (45 years old) moving to Paris in a few months. My biggest concern is finding a studio to practice my dance everyday… that is not too expensive. I normally practice 3-4 hours a day. If you can offer any suggestions in this regard, I would appreciate it. Thank you !
