    Sway bar links gave up after about 23tkm. Loud "klonk klonk" noise. Right side was worse. I didn't use originals, when i changed those two years ago. Now i changed original parts, hopefully will last longer.

      Thank you for this video. I have astra 288tkm with all original suspension. My model (business) suspension is higher than others (Cosmo) . Replacing suspension I would like to make it more soft. Did your suspension height change with new springs? Is it now more soft or same? Thanks.

      @jgoncalodm i didn't notice any height difference between originals and Bilstein B4 shocks and KYB springs. But i think Bilsteins are harder than originals were, it's not a big difference, but especially in cold weather, in the beginning of driving, i will notice a small difference. But I really like, how it is now.

      @@kaukolaDIYthank you for the feedback. I will try the kyb springs and OEM new shocks.

    Thanks for taking the time to do such a clear video. I have a 2013 Orlando and believe it is very similar to this Opel model.

      I'm sure, that many basic car models of that time, use similar brake and suspension components.

      You're welcome. I've heard that this top strut mount is quite common problem with these to make noise... luckily it's quite cheap fix.

    I have an astra j 160 hp cdti. Same problem of noise since 150000km. I have 200000 km today and i m on holidays near Barcelone.
    Nice car to drive. I ve only lose a rear steel fixing system on the rear brakes i chance before my travel ( it s my fault, i didn t shut it enough). A nice guy put me a récupération screw , and i could start my holidays in spain.
    I will change my shocks absorbers this winter with quinton hazell parts for the price ( made in india i think).
    Thanks🇫🇷😼😉

    Good Job! I like your spring compressor. It looks safer than mine, I have the ones that hook over. Keep it up!

      Thanks. My biggest concern was, how that spring compressor will work, but it worked fine.

      Yes, it worked very well..... I've ordered 2 sets of these ( so I can use 3). They are cheap but excellent reviews.... I haven't tried them yet.

      I actually also had some noise coming after the brake job, but i can't hear it anymore. I've been now driving about 2000km after the brake job. Maybe also your noise will go away after some time.

      Nicro 135, It's called "Long-term anti-corrosion agent". Some fluid against rust. Not necessary.

    Thanks for video. Which shock absorbers are better & comfortable ? GM stock absorbers or Bilstein B4 OE Replacement shock absorbers ?

    • @kaukolaDIY
      @kaukolaDIY  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a hard one to answer, i really couldn't feel much difference. But i think, that Bilstein felt a bit harder, maybe because they were new (?). When i drove first time, i had this feeling "these are better than old ones", but there's really not much difference.

    for the 2 bolts holding the suspension on the arm, what if you put them the other way around so you can remove them without removing the caliper next time?

    • @kaukolaDIY
      @kaukolaDIY  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well.. that's a good question. The bolt is not only threads all the way. Other end is kind of thicker and without threads, so it will fit tight to the hole. Is the hole on the other side same size than the other one? I don't know.

      This pen sockets (18 to 24mm set) i ordered from Amazon, product is "Sodial 6496". I couldn't find those anymore from Amazon website, but if you Google, it will give some results. If someone knows, where to get similar product, please tell us, those were actually very hard to find.

    Hello, It looks like a new car, why are you changing the shocks?

    • @kaukolaDIY
      @kaukolaDIY  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shocks were original, not broken, I just wanted to be sure. I had vehicle inspection coming...

    • @kaukolaDIY
      @kaukolaDIY  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually the reason, why i wanted to check my front suspension, was some strange "klonk" sound, which was coming from the front.

    • @kaukolaDIY

      @mbz4652 it's not a must, to change them at the same time.. actually I might have a problem with at least passenger side anti-roll-bar bush. I have to change them soon. I've heard that those bolts are pretty hard to reach.
