    What Camerons Car Reviews has to say about the 2001 F-150: For 2001 Ford introduces the four-door SuperCrew. America's Favorite truck has always been the F-150 always outselling the other American Competitors as well as the Japanese competitor the Toyota Tundra and Toyota T100. The F-150 comes in a nice range of body style configurations as well as a host of features. The interior is also the perfect American truck interior. Power comes from 3 motors a base 4.2 L V6, a mid-level 4.6 L V,8 and a heavy duty 5.4 L V8 made into a 5-Speed Manual or 4-Speed Automatic. Trims on the Supercrew range from the basic XLT to a very luxurious King Ranch model and to a sporty Harley-Davidson Trim. All in all the F-150 is sure not to disappoint it will provide the truck for anybody's needs.

    actually that generation was continued for 2004 and sold as the f 150 heritage edition...or even a basic work truck.....then tooling was shipped to Mexico where they contenued to make that generation a few more years there....it was called a Ford lobo....

    Ready to hear it from a pro? Call it conceited if you will but I have 44 years experience and have owned over 80 vehicles myself. I own a 2002 f150 supercrew myself so lets start here. Of course my being a master engineer mechanic the 02 I purchased even at 180k miles will be one of the best ones Great looks! Handles like a mid sized sport car, Very solid doors! And the fact that even this 4.6 V8 of 281 CI has a bit over a 3.5 stroke which offers longevity of the 350CI in stroke. The sheetmetal is superior and thicker than the Chevrolet or gmc or the dodge trucks. These automatics in the f150 from 97 to 2003 will last forever if you treat them to last that long. But now for the 94 to 2002 dodge ram trucks in which I own a 98 dodge ram extended cab with 318 V8. If I was standing between a ford dealership and dodge dealership in the fall of 2001 where my 02 ford was sold new, I would walk across to the dodge dealership and purchase the 2002 dodge INSTEAD which is the same style and engine as my 98 dodge ram. WHY?? Because the dodge ram engine will last longer because the block and heads are cast iron and built off of and same as the 1960s engine line for 318 and 360 which is easier to work on and cheaper to repair and easier to repair. And because the dodge has a wider inside and taller and wider and longer seats. The dodge ram is roomy like a 70s Cadillac inside and will pay for itself even if you have to rebuild one from the 94 to 02 generation for the dodge. The ford 97 to 02 though would be anyones worst nightmare if lets say it was not maintained or driven right. You heard it from a metals engineer and master engine stock rebuilder and all around master mechanic so do with this what you will. BTW,, from a pro here are the best engines ever made in human history...Cadillac from the 315 V8 to the 390 to the 429 and 472 and 500 and 425 engines

      +Earl Guyton What would you buy in the future F150 v-8 10 speed all aluminum body ......OR........Chrysler Hemi V-8 -with 4-8 speed variable and metal body mostly and some aluminum panels ??

      Earl Guyton Thanks for your answer.I take it that the aluminum body lightness and the new 10 speed could not touch the ride and Hemi motor. ....Will do appreciate it.

      Sorry my friend,I'm also a multi certified technician(retired) as well as an instructor,but I just have no service or luck from any of the GM product line. I know many people who swear by them,but my GM have always left me walking home at some point. And the two Caddys that I have owned were by far the worst vehicles I've ever owned.

      Note that this was published in 2013, and even in 2019 you would be really lucky to get this truck with that mileage in the same condition for 2K. The only way to get it that cheap 4 years ago would be if you go to the auction so stop lying please.

    • @christopherhale5445
      @christopherhale5445 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Earl Guyton ..im not sure why Ford made the 4.6..in this generation...my 4.2 v6....is just as torquay and capable..( my dad owns a 4.6 f 150.....my truck is a one owner....ive got 287.000 miles on it....with no major issue....sure alternator...batteries....tune up items...belts....but its mechanically untouched.....but im not really sure why Ford just didn't go with the fleet base v6 and the 5.4 V8......other then a shit load of expeditions came with them and alot of 4x4......the generation Dodge you speak of....did suffer from alot of failed transmissions.....and alot of electronic bugs...especially anything powered by a motor....like power door locks...power seats...power windows....the dash was horrible for breaking.....but the motor was solid even if the truck fell apart around it......so was is your opinion about fords push to ecoboost the entire fleet of its car and truck lines??

    • @EarlGuyton425
      @EarlGuyton425 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      If Ford had any intelligence and or care for the consumer, they would have continued the use of the 302 V8 and the 351 windsor V8. Many of today's people believe engines are more efficient and powerful, but what is the point if 200 more things can go wrong? No matter what a person owns today that is any later than a 2003 model is simply junk that is going to cost a bunch of money.

    • @christopherhale5445
      @christopherhale5445 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Earl Guyton ...obviously anything basic and simple is the way to go.....but I can say that the best single addition to automotive technology has to be electronic fuel ejection....which became common place by the late 80s early 90s.....i dont miss the carburetor at all.....i rebuilt many...and installed jets and kits...I do think on a diagnostic level....its nice to have a standard port to read (possible) issues with the vehicle...back in the day....you didn't have that option....again until the the 80s.....in primitive form....then much better in the 90s and now.......but back to your comment....yes ....new vehicles are very non user friendly....and will cost a mint to fix once the warranty expires.....i cant imagine the cost of the new ecoboost engines going bad.....but any new vehicle or make is going to be a shit storm to fix....

    • @EarlGuyton425
      @EarlGuyton425 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually have one carbureted engine right now. It is the qudra jet 4 barrel and came stock on my 1989 cadillac brougham 307 V8. That car has 211,000 miles on it and not even the caburetor filter has ever been replaced at all and still functions without hesistation and this 4dr car weighs 4400 lbs ad gets better gas mileage than my 02 ford supercrew 4.6 and my 98 dodge ram 318 and beat my ex wives 2003 silverado extended cab. Here again, fuel ijection is nothing but wasting lots of money. Your old carburetors actually would never give a person trouble if they kept them lightly oiled where the linkage is and wiped road dust off of them occasionally. And my two previous cadillacs from the early 1980s with 425 V8 and quadrajet carbs (they were a 78 and a 79 sedan deville) I never had hesistaion and no trouble with them. So it has to be GOOD when you figure this 89 has 211,000 miles and I sure never had to waste money messing with some 300 dollar electric fuel pump or 100 dollar injector IN WHICH by use of injectors a simple electrical connecot or fuse can shut you down. I see no value or betterment in fuel injected. Also my 02 harley softail 1450 double cam still uses the carburetor and no fuel injection and it is just as responsive as many of your harleys with the fuel injection. I could go down the list of my cars as the 67 cougar and the 67 fairlane and down the line and I never had any trouble with a carburetor in any car
