Yep, but it's more complicated thing than most of the foreigners can see. First of all in 90-00 there were russian fast food restaurant franchise named Rostick's. Than, in the midle of 10th or earlier it has been bought by KFC company and renamed into KFC Russia. As I understand, the previous owner became a shareholder and after KFC had left he has restored the control on his share as well as the brand's old name. Correct me if I messed up the facts .
They explain to kids how Ukraine is full of Nazis and must be destroyed. And that killing Ukrainians is a good thing. They're written by Putin. He wanted to get into writing books for kids.
Best to just get rid of all the chains and franchises all together and replace them with mom and pop shops. All chains do is mass wealth into the hands of the few.
@@practicaliching2311 All Mcdonalds franchises go independant. All franchise owners join a United Mcdonalds Directorate and vote on decisions. The factories that once produced the Mcdonalds food are collectively owned by the franchise owners. Each franchise is free to set their own regional pricing, no one person can own more than one franchise. It'd be like a weird franchised cooperative. That would be a solution to companies getting too big, at least then the wealth is more evenly distributed and makes it's way back into the economy.
I pray that in this new year we will see peace between the Russian people and the American people. I pray that the war in Ukraine ends and we can go back to working together to overcome the challenges we have in front of us 😢
I was in my local McDonalds last week and noticed that their current kids toy was a book. As a visitor to McDonald's in post-Soviet countries for many years, I just can't imagine it being dirty. Cleaning all day, almost every time I come - I saw the staff mopping the floor and wiping down the tables. The manager and workers will have problems if the inspector suddenly comes and sees that it is even a little dirty. With regard to this, there is almost army rigor. Found little details about cleaning schedule
"After each visitor, the place where he ate is disinfected. All equipment is disinfected every 4 hours. Toilets are cleaned every 15 minutes and disinfected every hour."
So yes - there almost bio-lab grade clean
being clean sounds like a lot of work but if it’s your job it gives you something to do. also managment could enforce smiling and a regular happy attitude but they dont so here we are.
In Singapore, you can choose either a book or a toy for the happy meal at Macdonalds
In Québec (Canada) too... and you can choose between the book in French or English!

@@problemyok5747 your understanding of the ratio between Russian average wages and American wages is completely off-balance. Even though Americans earn more, they have a lot less disposable income than Russians because of the obscene amounts they have to pay for housing, gas, utilities, and taxes. On average, the average Russian citizen has more disposable income than the average American. FACT

I went there when I was in Russia last summer. It tasted maybe a bit like BurgerKing. I do remember the place always being SO crowded! Honestly though, Russia has so much better food to offer than just McDonald’s or that type of fast food.
Looks way better, specially the book part.
it's not better nor worse, it's the same (except name, of course)

That used to be the case before. I remembered for a short while, happy meals brought little books with them. It didn’t stay for too long though
It won't sell
I think Indonesia did that too?
Idk if this happened in the US too but Australia used to give out mini diary of a wimpy kid books in the kids meal

Now KFC in Russia named Rostic's
да, но в отличии от мака они просто переименовались
Yep, but it's more complicated thing than most of the foreigners can see. First of all in 90-00 there were russian fast food restaurant franchise named Rostick's. Than, in the midle of 10th or earlier it has been bought by KFC company and renamed into KFC Russia. As I understand, the previous owner became a shareholder and after KFC had left he has restored the control on his share as well as the brand's old name. Correct me if I messed up the facts .
@@LitchGaming I also knew that KFS in Russia used to be Rostic's. So that you understand, I found out only after I moved from Ukraine to Russia.
that logo is awesome. It looks like an M but also two fries and ketchup!
These are two fries and a burger (I'm Russian)🤭
What are the books like? That’s an awesome move!!
They explain to kids how Ukraine is full of Nazis and must be destroyed. And that killing Ukrainians is a good thing. They're written by Putin. He wanted to get into writing books for kids.
Would be good if McDonald's fragmented completely and every country/region had their own version of "McDonalds"
A beautiful dream, I would say!
It literally is like this
If an American kid found a book instead of toy in their happy meal, they would probably cry.
I pray that in this new year we will see peace between the Russian people and the American people. I pray that the war in Ukraine ends and we can go back to working together to overcome the challenges we have in front of us 😢
Everyone mentioning the book part seems to forget that American McDonald’s did the exact same thing at one point
I was in my local McDonalds last week and noticed that their current kids toy was a book. So, yeah, sometimes they do those there too - they are always changing what toy they give (often some movie tie in) and sometimes it's a book. The toys are basically advertising, so it depends on who McDonalds has a deal with at the moment.
But the Russian book is poetry
