Paul - out of the thousands of different types of metal stock available, what were the odds that both you and I would base our first layers on perforated metal? You did a great job on layer number two, and I love the idea of placing hands on a hand-made part!

I am 71 and retired and this past March I retired from driving a school bus, I now have time to work with the metal working tools, roller, English wheel, tubing bender, tubing notcher and hammers, nothing fancy, most from Eastwood, been enjoying all your unique videos and even though I will never be as good as you, starting so late in life and all, it is so relaxing and challenging! Learned to TIG & MIG weld from lots of TH-cam videos as well! No welding or trade schools anywhere near me so watching helps, lots of trial & error but is that not how it all started? !!

I was just thinking this morning (Sunday 29th) if you and Ron would like to meet up at my shop to do final assembly and maybe draw the winner. I can drive to Arlington Washington easily in a day from my shop in Willits CA and Ron said it took him about 6 hours to get from his house to mine. It may not be half way for both of you but but you will have all the tools necessary to do the assembly. Ron is familiar with my shop and knows what is available.

Enjoyed…IMO, the hand should be welded to the stand-off and then the stand-off is bolted to the mesh, hands will appear to be floating….WOW…lots of work!!!

Paul! Hands that refer to the hand-made item are great idea...and fortunately you got this idea, otherwise 2nd layber would be very similar to the first layer made by Ron as he used mesh as well! I had real fun wathcing both videos and seeing that you both used mesh to made first layers :D

I am so happy this is actually happening.... I didn't even think about a trophy but now I'm super excited about seeing how it turns out. I would like to see a secret button that would allow all the layers to be spun so it would always look different.... That would be epic. Thank you Paul and Mitch, and also Ron, for doing this...
