I think you should read Letters from a Stoic by Seneca. It’s a philosophy book but it’s not very long at all and super easy to understand. It also rly suits ur vibe which is why I’d recommend to u. It’s just a rly eye-opening and introspective book which left me feeling super peaceful after every read 😊

oh thank you so much for the suggestion!! I actually love philosophy but find it hard to know which books to pick up so I'm definitely going to try pick this up. Makes me feel happy that you get my vibe 🪷

Oh my god, that's exactly how I felt about Powerless!!! I couldn't continue reading it after 150 pages, I got too annoyed over the same thing being over-explained in two different POVs, and when I got to the name of the elites in the trials, I couldn't move on!! Like the main character is Paedyn, but then the rest are called John and Brian? Pls!! Put some effort in!
I am not a fan of Emily Henry, I read People We Meet on Vacation and really disliked it, and I couldn't get myself to try any of her other titles. I think there's like 6 so far now, and I did hear that Book Lovers is the best one, so I am tentatively intrigued (some point... in the future).
If you want more neuro-divergency (and chronic illness) representation in romance books, then I recommend Chloe Liese - particularly her Bergman Brothers series. I think she does things very respectfully and kindly, and the books hit the right mixture of funny and steamy, while not relying too heavily on typical romance narrative tropes.
Hannah Bonam-Young is one of my newest favourite authors in that department as well, and her romance is sooo realistic and so loving and swoony (it features some heavy topics though!).

I am absolutely howling how did I miss JOHN AND BRIAN!! 😭 where is the consistency I'm dead....I'm glad to know Book Lovers is the generally regarded as the best cos I loved it but I may not persevere with others!
Thank you for those ND/Chronic illness recs! I just need a bit of romance that's more rooted in the realistic sometimes. I'll be doing some research into those 🥰
