I too am so over the pressed glitters in palettes. I think they should stick to those as singles or do all glitter palettes for the die-hard glitter fans, but in regular eyeshadow palettes they're a waste of space for most of us that aren't willing to risk our eye safety and/or don't wanna use glitters for eco-conscious reasons. EDIT: heck yeah I wanna see an Amanda 9 pan palette, oh my gosh!! 😃
@@divyaatri8651 Almost all glitter is made from plastic, that plastic can get into your eye and cause some damage if it cuts your cornea. Hope that helps
Don't know if any of you could help me, she talked about the pressed glitters and all and I completely understand But then she did talked about that shade from the oh lala palette, tickled I think, saying it was very pretty, that shade is a mettalic, of course it's not classified as pressed glitter but it has micro glitter in it So I'm confused, shouldn't this one be not safe too? I have that exact palette and would like to know
The shimmer particles in a regular metallic shade are not nearly large enough to scratch + damage your cornea so they are safe! Obviously you don't want any foreign substance in the eye but plain old shimmers are not going to hurt you like a pressed glitter particle would.
Hi Amanda!I feel the same way about the press glitters. You can put it on your nails! I just put on a clear base and when it is VERY tacky I put on the glitter, I pack it on and ley dry, then I put on a hard, glossy top coat over it, you can also seal it with a UV light for gel polish and voila! I almost finish mine and I use the empty spots on the pallets to create eye liners with my Inglot 😌👌🏼
I can’t thank you enough for how vocal you are about not only disliking the pressed glitters on eyeshadow palettes, but also about how dangerous they are. I don’t know if it is because they don’t see it as often as you or me, or because they haven’t had to stare at high-res pictures of damaged eyeballs for hours but I find it baffling that people are not more freaked out about something that can potentially damage your eyesight for life being sold with eye makeup. I’ve been eyeing Brown Sugar for years it feels like, maybe one day when I’m feeling bold enough to risk getting slammed with customs I’ll order it. I also love the idea of Baby Got Peach, but I’m not going to risk a corneal ulcer.
I hear you! I feel obligated to keep talking about it. I was an ophthalmic tech in a cornea clinic for many years and these glitters give me flashbacks to those days... once you’ve seen a rejected corneal transplant, glitter doesn’t seem quite so pretty anymore 😅

True, ppl can ignore pressed glitters but if they are in a palette, there is always a risk of glitters getting into other shadows😔 Its one thing to put pressed pigments but pressed glitters are pretty hazardous 😔
I'd buy your 9 pan palette regardless of color. What colors would you add? They've made my favorite colors to wear already. It's hard to say what's missing. But, if it were my choice, I would go for something with dark blues & purples. Or, maybe, an all shimmer rainbow palette. I don't have the Sol & Mar palettes. I really want the Shayla collab Under Construction. I gave Brown Sugar to my friend. She loves it, too.
They're releasing new ones this Friday, in Frozen 2 themes. Maybe you're not a fan of Disney, but if you like cool tones, maybe the Elsa one is cool? It has a lot of blue and silver and a few red tones in there but overall it looks gorgeous! It still has pressed glitter (if you don't like that, I think there's only one in there), but look it up, there are some leaked photo's!

I actually just bought a back up of baby got peach because I love it for everyday wear. I dont do much with Browns or taupe, I prefer a lighter brighter neutral day look. Peach is def my favorite
This was so much fun, and a great idea to film the process of you deciding on your order. My ideal 9 pan palette would be a jewel-toned one. I'm thinking of a navy blue matte for something different, and maybe a safer mid-toned crease shade, and then gorgeous rich shimmers like copper, deep emerald, ruby red, purple, etc... Maybe I need to bite the bullet with the So Jaded palette. I'm with you on the pressed glitters though, I think it's bordering on irresponsible to put them in an eyeshadow palette if they're not eye-safe. To each their own, but they're not for me.

Uh huh honey I’m not the biggest fan of the pressed glitters either, I’ve tried to wear them and I just get anxiety LOL. I love to wear bright pinks and neutrals, those are my usual go-to tones
I really liked this video. I have 8 of the 9pan palettes and, while I don't necessarily agree 100% with the way you ranked, everyone has different taste and it was interesting to see why you ranked each in their place :D Also, I agree with you, the Mar palette has beautiful browns... and I also think that the purple one is the most beautiful of them.
It's my pleasure is the most used eyeshadow palette I have in my collection. My most favourite shade is "sandman" it's actually kinda duochrome, which I love so much that I almost hit pan after 3 months of buying it.
I have 11 of the 13. Proceed with Caution is on my list to buy but I'm resisting the Baby Got Peach just because of its similarity to Sweet Talk. I would have rated Just My Luck higher than you did, but I love green! If you do a collab with colourpop, I'd love to see another purple palette, but more on the indigo end since Its My Pleasure is very pink/violet.

That’s true- if body/hair glitter fits your style then that’s a great way to use them. My problem is that putting them in an *eyeshadow palette* is really dangerous because that is marketing them as and EYE product.

I don't have Sol, Baby Got Peach, Strawberry Shake, Brown Sugar, Ooh La La, or Proceed With Caution. They haven't interested me, really. I don't really wear the type of pinks or peaches that CP offers. I may get Brown Sugar, though. Most of my other palettes have more neutrals than I know what to do with, though, so I dunno.
I know this is a colourpop video, but my favorite 9 pan palette color wise is my suva beauty saffron palette which I bought in my never ending hunt for the perfect red shadow. It didn't have the perfect red shadow, but I use shadows from that palette all the time.
Baby got peach is my absolute favorite despite the glitter; I have had 4 surgeries on my eyes due to a condition I was born with, the last one I was awake for, so I won’t use the glitter on my eyes, BUT, when I’m feeling a little extra, I’ll dab a tiny bit on my cheeks as a highlighter

I only got the brown sugar a few weeks ago but I can’t stop using it! I’ve got it on my eyes now. I’m not big on colourful shadows so I don’t have any of the other 9 pans but brown sugar is definitely my fav from colourpop

I have 9 out of the 13. I don’t have your #2, #4, #5 & #13. I think I have a less common perspective of these 9 pan palettes. I see each one as a part of a whole, like puzzle pieces. I know a lot of people prefer to create multiple looks from one palette, but I like to mix & match when I feel like just being creative & playing with eye shadow. For the price point and quality I think these are the perfect palettes to “play” with 😊. If you imagined putting all these shadows together without boundaries, what do you think you would come up with? I know you would toss out the pressed glitters, lol. Great video as always!

Brown Sugar is such a great palette! Amanda, I generally ignored glitter eye safe warnings because...well, I love sparkly things. I wanted to say I won't be putting large glitters near my eyeballs any longer. Not worth my corneas - would like to keep admiring sparkly things for years to come. ;) Thanks! 😃
I wish baby got peach would come back in stock so I can buy a backup. I love it. I dont use the glitter either but I love the tones their my fav! It does tick me off they dont stop putting the glitter in them I know people complain about it I hate the glitters it ruined sweet talk for me I never use it theres only 2 shimmers which to me isnt enough.
Don't know if you've heared the news, but ColourPop's releasing new Pan palettes in Frozen 2 themes! There are some leaked photo's online, it comes out this Friday (15th of November) and they look really cool. I think they still have pressed glitter in them though, Elsa a white one and Anna a gold one (and there will also be containers with just glitter?) but maybe they're cool to pick up! I thought I'd just let you know :). Great video!
I’m with you on hating the glitters... In addition to not being eye safe, I’m a working adult, there are few to zero occasions where glitter is appropriate. Make a glitter palette and leave them out of the actual eyeshadow palettes... The pigment thing doesn’t bother me - It is only an issue in the USA (I’m in Canada). The USA bans many innocuous things that are widely enjoyed without issue in other countries.
Brown sugar is my top favourite. I use it with the Dream st. palette everyday. I love the blue moon very much though. Please do a grungy 9-pan palette if you get a collab (and I think you should!) with colourpop 💙

I am so glad that the first and only 9 palette from colorpop I got is “It is my pleasure”. I was so hesitant if I get a colorpop eyeshadow palette, because first in Lebanon we don’t have the brand so I can’t physically see the palettes and swatch them, even when I travel to Europe I don’t see Colorpop products. On top of that I am not a drugstore makeup person, especially when it comes to eye products. But since Wearing purples is out of my comfort zone I said why not, let’s get this palette I found it on Instagram page and it retails for almost 20$ so it is cheap. But I was surprised with the quality and the payoff. And I got another 4 palettes and I am waiting for my Go Coconut to get shipped.
Love the work though process style. Do a day time palette with neutral tone neutral palette, (or cool tone, a mini fame palette). Pair it with a night time palette with fun shades, with duo-chromes, super shock, foil metallics and no pressed glitter! Or do an all duo-chrome palette lol, because I don't think Colourpop will do one themselves.
I don’t have any of those CP palettes. It’s sad that you have to make a disclaimer at the beginning of the video.... everyone needs to relax a little. As for a collab 9-pan palette, how about a black to white grayscale (with a silver thrown in)?

Pleasantly surprised to find that my top two are the same as yours!!! The brown sugar palette is underrrated and overlooked by so many because so many releases have come out after it, its been lost in the shuffle.

I had no idea that pressed glitters were not safe for the eyes. Can anyone give me a quick explanation/source to read? I would really appreciate it. Also, how can you pick up that a palette has pressed glitters?
Pressed glitters are made up of small pieces of plastic (and sometimes metal) that can cut the eye if even a single piece gets in there 😭 I was an ophthalmic technician before TH-cam and trust me when I say corneal abrasions are incredibly painful and can impair vision long term if they cause scarring. 😰
Don’t apologize we are all here to learn from each other! No pressed glitters are eye safe as far as I know. They *should* be marked as not eye safe. In general just look out for glitters with BIG chunks. Glittery powder shadows should be fine tho!
Ber I have the yellow palette and planned to depot the glitter but I can’t! The plastic makes it hard to get a needle in there. It’s easy to depot in the cardboard palettes but I don’t know how to do it with the plastic 9 pans. So I just put tape over mine
I have to say it’s my pleasure is my favorite also because my eyes have a green undertone and I love purple. One difference in opinion that I have is that I also really love baby got peach. I just don’t use the glitter. But the peach is so pretty with my complexion that I really love it.

I love this! The overhead organization format is so soothing. I've only got 3, and I'd rank It's My Pleasure first, Main Squeeze second, and Ooh La La third. I really toyed with the idea of getting the green one, but then I won Smoke Sessions by Melt so couldn't justify it!
Brown sugar is definitely my favorite 9 pan! It is so good for every day, for travel, for smokey looks. Just all the things.
I have only 1 and I love it. Its the strawberry shake palette. I will buy a palette if they release a pastel one or a duochrome palette. With 8 palettes in my stash ,I have to be choosy to avoid repeats

I really liked that you gave a clear opinion. I watch many videos that im looking for an opinion and it's all maybe/maybe not... what do you think. Im over those. I do wonder about the 9 pan ones that have glitter. If the glitter was not in the palettes would the rankings have changed on those. I've been looking at some of these palettes to purchase and wondering your thoughts.

I hate the press glitter too. They shouldnt put them in the palette's because they are not safe i wish it was another matte or shimmer.

I actually just bought a back up of baby got peach because I love it for everyday wear. I dont do much with Browns or taupe, I prefer a lighter brighter neutral day look. Peach is def my favorite
This was so much fun, and a great idea to film the process of you deciding on your order. My ideal 9 pan palette would be a jewel-toned one. I'm thinking of a navy blue matte for something different, and maybe a safer mid-toned crease shade, and then gorgeous rich shimmers like copper, deep emerald, ruby red, purple, etc... Maybe I need to bite the bullet with the So Jaded palette. I'm with you on the pressed glitters though, I think it's bordering on irresponsible to put them in an eyeshadow palette if they're not eye-safe. To each their own, but they're not for me.

I’m not the biggest fan of the pressed glitters either, I’ve tried to wear them and I just get anxiety LOL. I love to wear bright pinks and neutrals, those are my usual go-to tones

I really liked this video. I have 8 of the 9pan palettes and, while I don't necessarily agree 100% with the way you ranked, everyone has different taste and it was interesting to see why you ranked each in their place :D
Also, I agree with you, the Mar palette has beautiful browns... and I also think that the purple one is the most beautiful of them.
It's my pleasure is the most used eyeshadow palette I have in my collection. My most favourite shade is "sandman" it's actually kinda duochrome, which I love so much that I almost hit pan after 3 months of buying it.
I have 11 of the 13. Proceed with Caution is on my list to buy but I'm resisting the Baby Got Peach just because of its similarity to Sweet Talk. I would have rated Just My Luck higher than you did, but I love green!
If you do a collab with colourpop, I'd love to see another purple palette, but more on the indigo end since Its My Pleasure is very pink/violet.

I use the glitters on my cheeks, body, or in my hair. They're still useful even if you're not putting them on your eyes :)
That’s true- if body/hair glitter fits your style then that’s a great way to use them. My problem is that putting them in an *eyeshadow palette* is really dangerous because that is marketing them as and EYE product.

I don't have many of the 9-pans, but It's My Pleasure, Uh-Huh Honey, and Just My Luck are my favorites. Want Blue Moon, Strawberry Shake, and Brown Sugar. I heard they're doing more pastel 9-pan palettes and Baby Got Peach was the start...any truth to that? Wish they'd come out with a greyscale or a silver/gold palette for the holidays. I don't have Sol, Baby Got Peach, Strawberry Shake, Brown Sugar, Ooh La La, or Proceed With Caution. They haven't interested me, really. I don't really wear the type of pinks or peaches that CP offers. I may get Brown Sugar, though. Most of my other palettes have more neutrals than I know what to do with, though, so I dunno.
I know this is a colourpop video, but my favorite 9 pan palette color wise is my suva beauty saffron palette which I bought in my never ending hunt for the perfect red shadow. It didn't have the perfect red shadow, but I use shadows from that palette all the time.

Baby got peach is my absolute favorite despite the glitter; I have had 4 surgeries on my eyes due to a condition I was born with, the last one I was awake for, so I won’t use the glitter on my eyes, BUT, when I’m feeling a little extra, I’ll dab a tiny bit on my cheeks as a highlighter

Can I ask why some of the non glitter pans are not eye safe? It’s because they can stain? Or do some people have sensitivities? I just wanna make sure I’m being safe

I have 9 out of the 13. I don’t have your #2, #4, #5 & #13. I think I have a less common perspective of these 9 pan palettes. I see each one as a part of a whole, like puzzle pieces. I know a lot of people prefer to create multiple looks from one palette, but I like to mix & match when I feel like just being creative & playing with eye shadow. For the price point and quality I think these are the perfect palettes to “play” with 😊. If you imagined putting all these shadows together without boundaries, what do you think you would come up with? I know you would toss out the pressed glitters, lol. Great video as always!
YES!!! A 9 pan palette with a grungy rainbow vibe like your previous video would be awesome 💗 Iteresting. Other than the pressed glitters being in the bottom I was pretty surprised by some of these. Since I'm not big on their 9 pans, I'd love to see your rankings on the other palettes. I don't own any of these 9 pans and don't think I'd get any except possibly the brown sugar because I do love neutrals but I probably won't cause I don't need more lol.
Honestly I loveee the strawberry shake- happy to see it in the top row! I also enjoy the orange you glad, but that press glitter makes the 9 pan into an 8 pan palette :(
Brown Sugar is such a great palette! Amanda, I generally ignored glitter eye safe warnings because...well, I love sparkly things. I wanted to say I won't be putting large glitters near my eyeballs any longer. Not worth my corneas - would like to keep admiring sparkly things for years to come. ;)

I wish baby got peach would come back in stock so I can buy a backup. I love it. I dont use the glitter either but I love the tones their my fav! It does tick me off they dont stop putting the glitter in them I know people complain about it I hate the glitters it ruined sweet talk for me I never use it theres only 2 shimmers which to me isnt enough.
Don't know if you've heared the news, but ColourPop's releasing new Pan palettes in Frozen 2 themes! There are some leaked photo's online, it comes out this Friday (15th of November) and they look really cool. I think they still have pressed glitter in them though, Elsa a white one and Anna a gold one (and there will also be containers with just glitter?) but maybe they're cool to pick up! I thought I'd just let you know :). Great video!

I’m with you on hating the glitters... In addition to not being eye safe, I’m a working adult, there are few to zero occasions where glitter is appropriate. Make a glitter palette and leave them out of the actual eyeshadow palettes...
The pigment thing doesn’t bother me - It is only an issue in the USA (I’m in Canada). The USA bans many innocuous things that are widely enjoyed without issue in other countries.

I am so glad that the first and only 9 palette from colorpop I got is “It is my pleasure”. I was so hesitant if I get a colorpop eyeshadow palette, because first in Lebanon we don’t have the brand so I can’t physically see the palettes and swatch them, even when I travel to Europe I don’t see Colorpop products. On top of that I am not a drugstore makeup person, especially when it comes to eye products. But since Wearing purples is out of my comfort zone I said why not, let’s get this palette I found it on Instagram page and it retails for almost 20$ so it is cheap. But I was surprised with the quality and the payoff. And I got another 4 palettes and I am waiting for my Go Coconut to get shipped.
Love the work though process style.
Do a day time palette with neutral tone neutral palette, (or cool tone, a mini fame palette).
Pair it with a night time palette with fun shades, with duo-chromes, super shock, foil metallics and no pressed glitter!
Or do an all duo-chrome palette lol, because I don't think Colourpop will do one themselves.

I had no idea that pressed glitters were not safe for the eyes. Can anyone give me a quick explanation/source to read? I would really appreciate it. Also, how can you pick up that a palette has pressed glitters?
Pressed glitters are made up of small pieces of plastic (and sometimes metal) that can cut the eye if even a single piece gets in there 😭 I was an ophthalmic technician before TH-cam and trust me when I say corneal abrasions are incredibly painful and can impair vision long term if they cause scarring. 😰
Don’t apologize we are all here to learn from each other! No pressed glitters are eye safe as far as I know. They *should* be marked as not eye safe. In general just look out for glitters with BIG chunks. Glittery powder shadows should be fine tho!

Ber I have the yellow palette and planned to depot the glitter but I can’t! The plastic makes it hard to get a needle in there. It’s easy to depot in the cardboard palettes but I don’t know how to do it with the plastic 9 pans. So I just put tape over mine
I have to say it’s my pleasure is my favorite also because my eyes have a green undertone and I love purple. One difference in opinion that I have is that I also really love baby got peach. I just don’t use the glitter. But the peach is so pretty with my complexion that I really love it.
