Exactly! I loved it at first but the more they added non-Chicago folks in, the more drama and typical it became. Glad Ryan said enough is enough. He wouldn't have an empire messing around with VH1 and their shenanigans. Literally everyone who had extra messy drama...was an outsider not originally from Chicago. Charmaine included, she came up here just to play manager for the show season 1. Once Danni the original Chicago connection to her left, she became a drama storyline.
I wish they could have kept it separate like NY did. Cease had his real artists tatting out of his real shop, and the cast tatted (and acted a fool) in a separate shop that was just for the show.

Maybe if they had specific days scheduled for filming and tattooing that they all knew about, it’d be easier. That way they can schedule their clients and allowing walk ins on no filming days. These artists want work and make their money.

Ryan said in the group chats alot of them not even taking the initiative to come in when production isn't around. it's always them going back and forth about somebody stepping up and attending to a client of a co worker that didn't show up. It's not production..it's his team. they all know the schedule. Some people only come for tv. some come regardless. if Ryan can't get a team all about working in the shop.. Perhaps he has to go the route of getting off of tv...to get a real solid team and grow the business.. hopefully..

I’m glad that they were able to talk about their frusta rations with the show. I have always thought these things about these shows where the cameras are in a storefront all day most of the time however, hardly any customers come through while they’re filming. Just goes to show that reality TV isn’t the dream that people hype it up to be.
The reason why I love this scene is cause you got a little look at what the artist not on screen go thru. Ceasar opened his other shop I think so he make money while filming, and just focus 80% drama & 20% tattoos at the “main shop” which is cool. But I like how Ryan wants authenticity and wants it to show the life of his tattoo artists and of him running the business. One of the best scenes of the Black Ink franchise

The whole back rent conversation is a lil off because how are you not being able to pay rent? Does the show not bring enough? And the artists are saying its hard to tattoo which equals them not being able to pay booth rent
Ryan mentions that there are at least 3 days unaccounted for where production was not involved and clients weren’t being taken. This means that even w/o the involvement of cameras (what they claimed to be the reason for poor performance) they weren’t putting in work. Because of this they’re not able to pay rent due to work not being performed.

The whole back rent conversation is a lil off because how are you not being able to pay rent? Does the show not bring enough? And the artists are saying its hard to tattoo which equals them not being able to pay booth rent
Ryan mentions that there are at least 3 days unaccounted for where production was not involved and clients weren’t being taken. This means that even w/o the involvement of cameras (what they claimed to be the reason for poor performance) they weren’t putting in work. Because of this they’re not able to pay rent due to work not being performed.
I think he saying he pays it from his money but they owe back rent. They don’t address those issues but want to blame filming. Don’t quote me tho.
