Malaisia had just turned 18 years old and knew she had some tough decisions ahead of her, about college, and where to live, what to do for work and career, but also, for her, there was something else looming.
Eighteen was typically when kids who had been adopted decided whether or not they wanted to find, and maybe meet, their birth parents, their biological mother and father. For her, finding and meeting her birth mother had always been on her mind. And, even though she had it set in her mind that she would find her biological mother as soon as she turned 18 years old, she didn't. She was too nervous about it.
Over the years she had always tried to imagine what it would be like to reconnect with her birth mother, wondered what she looked like and if they looked similar or not at all alike. She pictured them hanging out together, doing the kinds of things that moms and daughters do, and becoming best friends. She imagined having big family gatherings with her adopted family and biological family all together.
All of these hopeful pictures ran through her mind but underneath it all, still, she had no idea what to expect, no idea if she could even find her birth mother, and if she did find her, she didn't know whether she would want to meet.
She had spent years searching for her, just getting ready, and she had never seen a profile on any social media, until one day, finally, on Facebook, there she was - her birth mother. Malaisia, so nervous and anxious, sent her mom a message. Days went by without any response, then weeks, then months. UNTIL, one day late in December, a reply popped up on her computer screen - it was her biological mother, and she wanted to set up a meeting to see her.
A ton of emotions ran through her at that moment, but mostly she was happy, and relieved because her birth mother hadn't forgotten about her after all those years, and, she wanted to meet Malaisia! They kept texting and planned to meet on Christmas day after Malaisia had spent time with her adopted family.
When Christmas day came she was beyond nervous - she hadn't seen her birth mother in over eleven years - but she was also totally excited about it, had been waiting for this day, and dreaming about it for a long, long time.
Not only was she about to meet her her birth mother, but also her grandmother, two of her aunts and some of her cousins too. Her grandmother met her at the door with huge hugs, and then there was her mother. It was just like staring into a mirror, her mother looked just like her. That's when it fully clicked and hit her, this was her actual biological birth mother.
They looked at each other, and hugged for what seemed like forever. It was so strange for her to be living a moment that she had dreamt about and imagined for so long.
They spent the afternoon hanging out and talking and trying to catch each other up on everything. It was an amazing start to a new chapter in Malaisia's life.
She and her mom definitely have a long way to go to make up for all the time they've missed, but that's okay. Just being able to sit with her and talk to her is an amazing feeling.
That Christmas was THE best Christmas ever, and the present of finding and meeting her birth mother was the best present she could have ever hoped for.

every time I watch this video it reminds me of my mother who left me when I was only a few month old baby I don't remember much but my mother left me because she knew that someone else could take better care of me I don't know how old was I in ever since that day I don't know my birth my rightful birthday I figured out October 26th was a fraud I must have been born in January cuz when my non-related on found me I had a head full of hair know most of you will say because most babies are born with full hair but I'm pretty sure I was born with a lot of hair must have went down to my ears like above and my eyes must have been opened and ever since that day I just wish to meet my real mother and I did not speak on my home natural language because I come from Central Asia and in the country called Kyrgyzstan for my biological mother she said that I was found by my aunt were in the basket dressed nicely and clean

I never seen her or remember what does she looks like. Now my grandma is still in China. We are waiting for her coming to America so our family can be reunited.

My mother was immediately given up for adoption after birth, and she finally reunited with her birth mother in 2017 after contacting a bio relative on AncestryDNA. I always wondered who the relatives on my mom's side were, as I only knew my mom's brother who was also adopted and the adoptive parents passed away before I was born. I never thought this fantasy would become a reality!! I now see my mom's mom's side a few times a year.

This was a very touching story once again good job story booth
*Well I would've been in your situation but my biological parents died a few weeks after my twin sister and I were born.* Plus, I would've been poor and living in a packed area that is contaminated and extremely dusty.
But now I'm living a happy life in an average family that have money but not rich just like normal people and I also consider them my *_real_* parents cause we have such a close relationship and love, and my dad an I have the same phobias except I have about 3 more than him. I was born In Cambodia but then got adopted by an Australian (Mother) and Greek (Father) which I consider my *_real_* parents as I said, so now I'm Australian and Greek but a lot of people say I sound American but it's all good.

I am adopted as well and I just turned 26 years old I also always wondered what happened to my biological mother and father but never wonder why I am glad you could find your biological family and everything turned out alright but don't forget that many other people also wondered where there their biological families are as well and sometimes that can be good or bad so those who are watching this video be careful what you wish for sometimes it can come true and good or bad boys as for me I don't have a Facebook page but yeah sometimes I too also wonder who my parents are
