As everyone knows, who has experience a loss of a loved one, the sorrow eases but never goes away. Please don’t ever apologize for expressing those feelings, because those feelings are as natural as breathing. And those feelings honor those we have loved and loss. Congrats to you and Charlie! My dad died when I was 21. I got married at 23 and took my bouquet to his grave to tell him I was married and I was ok. I always refer to it as “visiting my dad” not visiting his grave. I’m going to see my dad. I walked down the aisle on my own. It was such a bitter sweet feeling. I think it’s fantastic that you get to visit your dad too. Such mixed emotions x x

First time your mom was walking with you down the isle, as lovely as it was, made the absence of your dad painfully obvious and I sobbed just like I'm sobbing now. Emptiness that loved ones leave behind when they pass can't be filled by anyone and anything. Every person in our lives has their unique place and others can ease the pain of a loss, but the emptiness is still there to hurt. Sometimes it gets overwhelming, when we need them the most - to share the happiness or to seek comfort. I'm sure you can feel how much loved you are by your family, especially your mom. Thank you for all the footage you shared. Watching your wedding videos and this after wedding one almost felt like being there. It’s wonderful that you felt loved by your guests and by your online community. You give so much of yourselves. You deserve it. As a side note to Charlie, I found it very inspiring to hear that you stopped drinking alcohol and were able to stick to your commitment even though you were surrounded by friends and family who were drinking next to you. Congratulations! My husband and I stopped drinking alcohol when we were in our late twenties and we’re now in our late 50s. We don’t miss it at all. We find that people are very respectful of our decision.
I love how much your Dad was involved with your day, the embroidery next to your heart was so special, the perfect weather and then the perfect road trip to take you back to him to share your wedding flowers. I do believe those who have gone whom you still love dearly are close by at special moments in your life ❤
