For those who don't know the story behind the video. There was a club in Stoke on Trent called the leisure Bowl. It had club nights called Shelley 's and Entropy. One night when the club had finished Altern8 turned up in the car park on the back of an articulated lorry and started playing, until the police showed up. That's what's recorded in this video
I was a barman there 93~94, Friday rave nights I poured pints of ‘filtered’ (tap 😂) water for £1, Saturday rock nights pints of diesel (cider+lager+blackcurrant). It was so hot in the club on rave nights that most ravers wore swimwear and carried their notes on their hips, so at the end of the night we rush down to dance floor and pick up the lost notes 😅
Oh mate, I had this on cassette too! I wore that shit out I played it that much 🤣 me & my cousins made up dance routines to this as I was about 10 at the time, and we showed all the parents our dance routines at family gatherings 🤣 love Altern 8

How on earth can Altern 8 be a 'bad choice' of group to represent the early 90's??? Mark archers one of the most underated producers of all things 808/303 based acid house & detroit techno & still plays bangin sets to this day! He's been there since day 1 under other guises too such as nexus 21 & produced house classics & nu skool breaks too. well said Mike Wraight, same here, and being a Stafford lad myself seeing these around our home town was so good, you were either Altern 8 or Bizarre inc in Stafford at the time and it was our time to shine
This is the track/that started it for me. Every Friday after school we would rush to the local record shop to pick up the latest stuff. The DJ that was there told us, "you got 2 pick this LP up man" Smashing, one of the best recommendations.

Ingenious. Is it just me or did people get along better and have more fun back then?
Definitely, and often it was a mixed crowd (i.e., straight/gay).
Ecstasy played a big part in the whole experience and vibes... Never be a time like that again... Shame.. but what memories 🤪
That is why it was destroyed. More money in conflict than togetherness.
Precisely why the authorities were against it
Yes, early rave culture was very reminiscent of the hippie era. Everyone welcome, just dance and have fun.
Born in 74, 16 in 1990. Need I say more 😉😍
These outfits look like just the thing for parties right now.
