    Awesome video! Hard to beat the old two cylinder john deer tractors. I have a 1959 630 and she still works perfectly today.

    Combines unlike tractors are not collector items. Especially pull types most are still running as modern cars or tractors after having been scrapped

    My grandad had a 42 SP the old 2row cornhead was used by my dad on his 95 SP combine to harvest a 70 or so acre cornfield in 1969.

    Excellent video, that is the first time I saw a tandem axle on a 68 Auger Wagon. I also Hawkeyed that ear on corn on the ground.

    Those 630s have a sound of there own. When I was 7 I started to run the one my dad had. Couldn't hardly push the clutch on the M Farmall. Lol. Nice video.

    I repaired one of those 42s in high school 1974. Had a rock run through it. Pulled the cylinder out ,removed the rasp bars, pounded the cylinder straight, put new rasp bars on and painted it. I didn't know there was corn heads for them. That was at Spfld. Ohio JVS.

    Still a few #42 combines used for yearly harvest in the Central Kansas Amish communities.

    A neighbor had a B john Deere with a 4 row rotary hoe. The B had to be cranked by pulling the fly wheel my dad had borrowed it from the neighbor my older brother who was about 8 or 9 went out and started it he weighed about 70 lbs. My dad walked over to him and said Well, you started it so I guess your big enough to run it. My brother said he enjoyed it cause you run faster in the field with the rotary hoe than you could with a row type cultivator which you could.

    Turn spreader on that needs to be working

      I had a belt break looking for that for next year but with 2 rows it doesn’t really make a difference on the cobs

    Great video. What is the minimum horsepower needed to run the 42??

    • @andrewssoundsofthepast110
      @andrewssoundsofthepast110  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I guess I don’t know that answer but if I had to guess 25 to 30 on flat land

    Before we bought our 4400 combine, I looked for a 42 but found nothing even close to the condition of yours. Is there adjustments to be made for grain to corn? Is it worth running the scourclean in corn?

    • @andrewssoundsofthepast110
      @andrewssoundsofthepast110  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s like setting a normal 40 or 45 combine but the scourclean is my bottle nick it can’t flow near fast enough backing up the shoe

    Liked your video and the equipment. What tractor do you mount the 237 on? Do you have a video of picking corn with the mounted picker?
