I have lived in Reporoa area for near 40 years and didn't know about the Te Kopia Scenic reserve! I have travelled that road countless times. I went for a drive last weekend and found it. I think it may have been hidden in blackberry until recently going by the walk in. Quite interesting!
Tried to get off the road onto some of the forest roads myself, locked gates and sometimes deep trenches dug making it impossible to continue, but that's OK, I get the message with the locked gate 🎉, cheers.
Pity we can't get into those forest roads. There are some good ones around Rotorua that one can get into. Still you found some good roads to explore, thanks for sharing Wayne.
I had a look at getting a permit for one of the forests near Rotorua. It was going to cost $50. Not feasible when I would only be use it for 30 minutes.
Loved thiis video and so nice to see some one on a Bike riding to the conditions as well. Aussie Bob.
Thanks. It's a combination of riding to the conditions, and not having the skill to do much else.
Another good one thanks, looking forward to the return around the cape, never did get to go around there.
The cape will still be there when you're ready. Probably a good idea to wait till the days are a little longer.

It is hard to find. A bit of a hidden gem. It won't compete with Wai-O Tapu, but it's a nice spot and it's free.

I think they need to make it easier to get a permit if they aren't working in the area. It's a bit rude that they didn't even reply to my enquiries.

@@theNZbv I didn't know you could even get a permit, but $50 is steep. You inspired me to revisit No 2 Rd. today 😄 was a good ride.
