    What price range do these mouthpieces fall in? .........There was a trend in the 1980s to bells larger than 9 1/2 for a bass trombone. When did that trend stop and why?

      The amount of mass with bells that huge is impractical to project in a hall with. For example, if you are in New York like Curran is, there hall is absolutely huge so he needs as much resonance as he can get, and if his bell is too large it will be much more challenging to resonate with.
