Thank you for posting. I liked that you showed the struggle of doing it on an improperly set up bike, followed by a bike that was set up closer for you.
Hi, I agree with your assessment about heating up - the bike needs a free flowing exhaust, no restrictions and no adaptors at the inlet, with a Pro ECU. An XRacing would do. Probably your first section is heating up a lot and it helps to keep the fan on all the time - we normally wrap it up with fireproof pipe wrap on the Kove. For weight saving, you can remove ABS completely and set your bike like an enduro bike with direct cabling, remove the switch key block, simplify your handlebar as much as possible; of course, you would remove the OEM dashboad and have only one lcd screen. A suspension revision front/rear is a must and probably you should have done it earlier. Good luck!
Those are all done or on the list to be done soon! We’ve sourced a Showa rear shock and forks were freshened up but internals all looked like new. We’ve increased the fork oil quantity a little as well. With my personal bike I’m 💯 going to a different exhaust and tune in an attempt to cool it off, plus remove the timing key mod.
Hi mine riding with you but at my own pace. Work medical and since bat flu started have little time off still! People just seem sicker all the time now. Rode on section of Baja long time ago. But never raced it. My serious racing is very much over - all for fun now.
IMO the heating problem is because the advance timing key, and maybe a different exhaust will help too. To avoid heat from the exhaust to the right tank I installed a heat shield sticker in the tank.
I’ve installed the reflective tape as well. My tanks still push fuel. I’m going to remove the timing advance and get a new exhaust to see if that helps the heat. Also, I think i need to remove the one way from the rear tank to the front tanks so it stops pressurizing the tanks.
The company "COOBER" has just created an ECU for the KOVE in Europe. Maybe it's available in the USA? The COOBER ECU worked great on the KTM TPIs. I have no feedback on this product at the moment. Having fun is the most important thing !!!
I’ve seen their ecu/exhaust combo. I think with them being in Europe, it’s probably tuned for the euro5 but i could be wrong. Uncle Wang is sending me an exhaust to test. I’ll be running it with the Kove USA race exhaust tune. I’m hoping the combo will help the bike run cooler as I think my setup is constricting.

Thank you brother! I really appreciate your support!

@@DirtByk I have Euro 5 model converted to pro model, I never had problems about tanks spilling out fuel.

People for get how much tires play in quality of ride and control of machines.
Yes, tires are hugely important. That Teraflex I was running was the worst tire in hard packed ever!
HOw do you keep the graphics from peeling off of the gas tanks?
Those stock graphics, especially those second edition ones, peel very easy. Aftermarket graphics are much better quality.
